That shifter is bad a$$!! Thats the best one I have ever seen so far. I wonder if there is a clutch too? Cool video but definetly the wrong thread.

OK I wanna know what wheel that is and if the shifter comes with it, cause that shifter PWNS!

Hmmm, Can't seem to view it in my browser. I'm using Mozilla Firefox due to popups still coming through IE 6 with popup blockers. OH CRAP!

Probably a good thing you cant see the video because if you could you would want that shifter wheel set up. Its the closest one I have seen to real life so far. And GT Legends looks like an excellent game.

Yup, that's the act-labs shifter. I don't think it's an act-labs wheel, though...even if it was, the DFP is still a better choice simply because of the 900* capability.

Also, that is indeed GTLegends, but does the Nordschleife come with the game, or did that kid download it? It's one of the least-accurate versions of the Nurburgring I've ever seen. Even PGR2 or Forza are more accurate at some parts.

I've always been interested in GTL, but with the arcade-game-style career mode (the game forces you to race to unlock pretty much everything, even for multiplayer), almost unavoidable control lag (notice the movement of the kid's wheel, and the movement of the virtual car's wheel), and the modern-racecar-style lack of steering lock, without modern-racecar-style tire grip (personal preference -- I can't stand spinning out just because I can't counter-steer enough) have always put me off.... :indiff:

The shifter looks like it's from ACT Labs.

And its been out of production for 3 years now. But the video is just as boring as every in car ring vid I've ever seen.

No the Nordschliefe doesn't come wit the game, I've got that version of the ring for GTR and RFactor, it's good to race on but only if you can stop yourself comparing it to GT4's ring . With the control lag, you can get rid of that, it's just a case of fine tuning the wheel setings, at least I can with my logitech device manager.

I also don't mind career style gameplay, it means you have more things to work for than simply racing for the hell of it, not that that's ever stopped me enjoying games like GTR. As for the countersteer thing, the idea is that you work on it and improve ;).

They've redesigned the Shifter for '06, by the way. It's up there on my list of dream items. It's 129usd for the full bundle (comes with more than one shifter plate, so if you only have a 4-speed...etc.)

How do you get rid of it, then?

Har, har. I know, but the rear end of the cars have too much momentum while sliding anyway (either that, or the tires are just that slippery). GTR/GTL can't match Live for Speed in realism, probably because they're based on the old EA F1 2002. Then again, Live for Speed won't let me drive classic 911's, 3.0CSLs, or Elans........... :indiff:

I once heard that GTL uses Starforce. Is this true? That's pretty much the main reason why I don't already have it.
