which is better IN YOUR OPINION. im curious because im almost done with the GT World Championship in PRO and not sure which one to keep.

Personally, I like the GT40 better, because of its engine noise, huge torque, and clear-cut handling. The XJ220 is a bit of a barge in my opinion, though it's probably faster due to the several-decade technology leap it has over the GT40.

BTW, if you did the save-and-reload trick, you could just try winning each and testing them out to see which one you'd like to keep... ;)

XJ220 is a demon in real life..in the game though...it's soft of...just a minion..

The GT-40 can be a lot of fun with some hard tires and TCS off.

The Jaguar is fast and all, but the GT40 is the more fun of the two in my opinion.

never used xj220 in gt3, but in gt2, it had the handling of a tank...

I like them both, I use the XJ220 more cos I've got mine to go like stink, the GT40 gets 500 and somthing horse power fully tuned the XJ220 has over 900, both have 5 gears, the GT40 handles better and both are great cars but the XJ220 can get faster laps.

I love how people compare BAD handling cars....to TANKS...which actually handle EXTREMELY well....better than most cars....

I think you can win the XJ220 from Mistral, and somewhere else so keep the GT40 Race Car as I think that's the only place you can win it.

looks like im gonna be keeping the GT40 Race Car (which is the one i wanted anyway, the engine sound ALONE is reason enough :) )

I find the GT40 more enjoyable. Better engine sound, lighter car, and better handling. Both are great cars, though. I think you should keep both.

as far as i know, the GT World Championship in PRO is the only place to win the XJ220 Race Car and the GT40 Race Car. so it's either this or that, can't have both. someone correct me if i'm wrong

fine, i will take back what i said...
the xj220 in gt2 handled like an overloaded semi-truck going at high speeds.

that better?

Last time got both (did it twice), but the XJ220 feels cumbersome to drive in comparison with the GT40. I think it may be because the cars wheelbase is so long.

Tanks only have good handling because they have caterpillar track things, and are slow...although the engines are powerful.

Tanks can turn on a penny, they out handle a London taxi Black cab.

I prefer to compare bad handling cars to soggy sponges :D

Yeah, because the tracks can rotate can't they? Along with the whole tank so that it can do a 180 without moving forward/back. Right?

I don't even own the XJ220 Race Car, yet I have five GT40's.

I think I made my point ;)

The XJ220 as a race car? Nah, it's such a pitty. Screwing up the lovely lines with spoilers and stickers. I got two of the road car versions, tuned to the max, nice looking and fast as hell. Yum. They're frikin expensive tho.. 780 per machine.

That'll be all,

Don't get me wrong... I wouldn't mind having one, not at all :D

But, when it comes to favourites, I must say that a stock XJ220 beats the competition, in looks.

I think the hubcaps were the first thing that struck me, even though I don't usually look at the wheels...the race car has a much more aggressive look (as it should). :)

Hubcaps? I believe they're referred to as, rims.

Rims = attatched to the tire itself
Hubcap = attatched to the rim

Hubcaps are for seniorciticens with little Peogeots :trouble:

hahahahaha, I drive an old Civic, took the hubcaps off after I went over a kerb (smashed my rim up), had tese black rims for a long time ... was quite cool, but everyone was mocking me about not having those dandy old hubcaps on ... car looked like a real race car with those black rims ...

4z, they may well be hubcaps. The XJ220 was supposed to be a supercar, so using hubcaps to improve aerodynamics makes sense. The hubcaps+rim are also lighter than a rim of identical shape would be, and it keeps the unsprung mass closer to the suspension. Shorter lever allows better control.

Definitely the XJ200 Race Car. The GT40 sucks. Just ask Flerbizky, he'll agree with me.

It does ?... I have never EVER heard of hubcaps on a racing car... (Can't even imagine a hubcap that'll stay put at 300+ km/h)

Even with the technology in the days of the XJ220, I highly doubt that... So I ask - Who or what is gonna support what you wrote ?

I agree. There is no hubcap in the history of mankind that will stay on at 300kmh+, doing more than 5000 revs for the length of an entire race.

And if there is, can you please introduce it to the rest of the racing world?
