GT40 SUPERCUP ROUND 2: Laguna Seca

Ok, round one! This will be a 5 lap race done in Arcade>hard.:) Enjoy!👍

PM your times to me by sunday the 30th of may. If you havn't PMed me your times by then that will be your bad luck and you wont get any points for the race obviously because you didn't get your time in.

RULES

No hybrids.
2 wheel's on the track at all times, the rumble strip is part of the track.
Try and keep the race clean.
No power upgrades, except oil change.
Do not change the tyres if you are in the road car series.
You can use any tyres in the racing car series.
Before the race you must hop on one foot around in circles and say the alphabet backwards, then do the chicken dance.:lol:
Oh, and have fun...and if you don't! *Shakes fist*

You've left me and daan in there on your copy/paste !! We've won without even racing !!

As for the AI its a YAY from me. They really pi**ed me off at seattle but I learnt to live with 'em.

Hopefully we'll get more than 2 entries this week.

Come on GT40'ers its Laguna !!!!!

The deadline for this one is also May 16th, which makes it the fastest event ever : it finished 2 days before it started. :D :D :D

Any thoughts on putting the lap times or total times in the results board ???
 
I tryed that, but it turned out all weird. I will post them some time in the threads they belong in.
 
well do you want to PM me the times after we've finished racing and I'll put a results thread with the times in there ???

Id make the results all colorful and interesting to read.

Its pretty useless having a results page with no times in there ?

And if I were to make a thread with the lap time results in it wouldnt take any more GTP space as you use the race thread to put the results in - If you know what I mean??

I just want to do my bit and help make the series a bit more interesting - we havent got many competitors at the moment.
 
OK, looks interesting, I'll be in it this week, I already have a settup for Laguna sdo I hope to do well.

I'm so crap on Laguna Seca that AI certainly won't be a problem. I just hope they don't catch me up and lap me :D :D :D.
What about a nice wall-free and corkscrew-free track for race 3 ? Apricot Hill or Grand Valley Speedway would be wonderful ;)

Whatever problems AI on the track might cause, I still prefer the 'Single race' solution than just 5 consecutive laps in 'Free run'. There is much more consistency and challenge this way. I had the feeling the 'Free run' was pointless since the idea was to lap again and again, then adding up the times in the end (or having Excel doing it) to see what was the best part.

This is the most realistic one among the non-existing tracks. I find it fabulous... and 100 times better than this damn corkscrew thing.

So I'll need the lap times from each driver then.

Its best if the drivers still pm radicool the lap times, it would be good if we had the total race time AND individual laps as well (or your quickest lap from your submitted race)

Then Radicool, the day after the end of the 2 weeks racing I just need a PM with all the racers' lap times and I'll make a results thread detailing lap times and possibly a league table etc etc ..........

If anyone's got anything else they think we need just let me know
 
OK so we all know what we are doing. How are the lap times coming along ?

I've only had one go so far this week, Im moving into a new house Ive just bought with my g/f so Ive had to spend time sorting that out.

Im down to a 1.15 lap but I havent tried the 5 lapper yet with the AI. As long as I can clear them and they dont smash into me whenever possible I'll be OK.

So come on peeps lets have a few more entrants than last week !!!!
 
OK, so we run the 5-lapper Arcade race, and PM the total time and the fastest lap from that race to Radicool.

Tires are open in the race car class, but no other mods besides oil.

And it looks like almost everybody missed the first round, so I'm not down that far. I'm on it!
 
Cool! I think I over heard my mum saying something about getting a PS2 for my house where I am now!:D So maybe soon I will be able to practiice more.

First practice race yesterday evening, in the Road Car. Best lap was in 1'25 but it could be much improved.
It's rather easy on this track to pass AI cars and get into 1st place (or maybe I'm improving ;) ), so I think I should post times in both races this week.
 
1'25!:eek: When I was testing out to see what tracks to put in the series I only got 1'30's around there! God stuff, keep it up!👍
 
:odd: I hope I remember the figures well (I only did one race). As I recall, I had :
lap 1 : ?
lap 2 : ?
lap 3 : 1'27.7
lap 4 : 1'27.4
lap 5 : 1'25.7

Anyway I saved my replay because the race was 100% clean, so I can check tonight, before I try with the Race Car.

So I really shouldn't mention the clean race I have with 2 1'23.7xx's in it then :D

I also have a problem with my GT40. It won't let me put T5's mediums on the back. So I have the harder T3's on the back. Is that OK?

Didn't I say road car has to have the tyres it comes with?

You did. It comes with T5's, but mine won't let me put T5's on the back. (I put T8's on to do some hotlaps earlier)

I'll scrap that car and get another one with T5's on if you insist, but I am using harder rear tyres and if I put T5's on the back too, I may go even quicker! :D
 
So we can expect the following ranking for the Road Car race :
1) daan
2) flat-out
3) radicool2

Unless Radicool or me do something really good during the week. :D
 
I can excpect that! I will be doing alot of testing on friday, unless dad has something planned as usual! I'm off to bed now.
