With the advent of older classic games being released with new HD graphics like Ico/SotC, splinter cell, prince of persia etc, any hope of GT4? Would anyone else want this?

I know what you're talking about, but I'm afraid such thing would never happen. Partially because it already did. :)

Gran Turismo HD was going to be the next in the series after GT4. It was released along with the PS3, but then later on removed from the store as the plan was scrapped and it became Gran Turismo 5 that we know today.

I say it was already done, because GT HD was GT4 with HD graphics. :dopey:

This is pretty much waht you need to know, for more details I'm hoping for edward_v12 to come along and give a full on explanation. 💡:sly:

Bollocks, well disappointed. I can still dream....

Where can i buy GT HD ??

read 2 post above. GT HD was going to be GT4 with upgraded graphics for PS3, but they never made it and gave us GT5 instead

I was looking foward to GT4 HD until I found out that it was going to be a ps3 release..then I cried

How about a release of GT4 on PSN? I WANT

Not necessary, GT4 already has 1080i for the ps2, although it's just upscaled, it still looks pretty good.

Probably won't happen because of the licensing nightmare that would be the games soundtrack. But I was just thinking yesterday how cool it would be to have GT4 on PSN. Yeah, GT5 is pretty much just an upgraded version, but still, I liked GT4s career mode way more.

They could scrap the soundtrack altogether, people will get over it. I prefer to play with all the music off anyway, even in the menus.

This would be acceptable to me, I would not miss it if it meant getting GT4 on PSN.

If anything, they could have positively marketed gt5 without any music and the novelty of adding your own music from your collection and people would be raving about the feature. As soon as you turn on gt5 for the first time you're asked to choose a music folder/album/playlist from your hd. Then release gt4 with the same no music add your own option and everyone would be wow that's clever of them. As opposed to now, hmm... Oh, i see an option to play my own music, that's nice, I'll try that sometime...

I would like to see gt3 and 4 on the psn store or a gran turismo series remake so it can play on the ps3.

I just looked for GT4 on the PSN store. I think I'm going to buy it today :sly:

Might buy a PS2 again and a Japan versoin of GT4 to play online.

What is different about the Japan version?

For the sake of nostalgia i'd definitely want to have the same soundtrack, the game wouldn't feel the same without it. I know some prefer the music off but the vast majority race with it on, it is of course aimed at the mass market and not just to those who enjoy racing sims. To each his own 👍.

I'd certainly want this simply because my PS2 hasn't been used in a while (So would require servicing, cleaning the dust out and maybe replacing the thermal paste or something) and the memory cards are a bit unreliable now, it's a nightmare to get the PS2 to detect them and even then there is always the possibility it can come loose or format itself.

The lack of backwards compatability is a huge issue with the PS3 considering how popular the PS2 was, great games like GT4 will be lost in the past if they're not ported to the newer consoles. PC games rarely have this problem as there is usually a cult following that has coding expertise to keep it alive.

About the music issue, they deninitely should keep the jazz/ambient menu music. It was perfect to gaze at the cars!
