Well Kaz did warn us not to expect to much of this update, so I was quite surprised it included 2 new cars and some big changes such as changing rims on standard cars. I don't really care for standard cars so I don't really care. They are just refining the game. As long as they are doing that, the more chance there is that some people will be dissappointed.

Hahahahahah, Internet, what a joke, ahahahahahahaha

Alot of hate about the seasonsls going.

I know they normally have start and end dates so did the ones removed have a end date?

Only PD know (well I guess they know) how many people play these old seasosnals so perhaps they seen that not enough people were playing them so to free up server space for other features it was best to remove them? Maybe they are adding aload more seasonals shortly? nobody actually knows.

Personally it doesnt bother me, I run them when I need the cash (which isnt very often) and generally the older ones were boring and easy, Expert was tough tho.

On a lighter note, only ran the Daytona seasosnal so far but the AI seemes a hell of a lot better! :D

Since the update all cars handle very strange. They all have oversteer in corners and the tires are making those silly noises -.- That wasn't before...

Also, not everyone has owned GT5 the day it came out and witnessed the game gradually grow. Chances are, people are still buying the game to this day. Now newcomers miss out on the variety of different events we once had.

Well, to compensate the loss of possible experience and money due to the removal of a bunch of seasonal events we have the 110%, 130%, 150% and 200% experience boost.
And to refer to the variety of different events I must say that there are still 8 events left which afford much time to complete. How do you know PD won't implement some more any time soon?

I'm finding it hard to come up with anything to be disappointed with. The removal of the seasonal events seems like an odd move, but interestingly the new one's logo isn't recycled from A-Spec. I don't think I've seen a seasonal event with a unique logo before.

Perhaps the older events are being replaced with newer versions on different tracks and PP levels.

Changing rims is awesome, the info on oil changes and rebuilds is awesome, tyre wear is much better, free cars are great. Copy ability on the setting sheet is fantastic. The improved sounds are good.

The wind and road noise is a welcomed addition, but I need to tone down that volume, is it possible? I haven't checked. Perhaps it's racing volume settings.

This update feels harsh and raw, perhaps it's just nerves. But Tire compound life, is just a huge difference from before, should it be left as is, re-programmed, or reverted to as before? I'd stick with as is, but PD must reward the tire use with careful driving, and would love tire pressure adjustment (deflate!)

so far, light or heavy, the tires wear out fast for any weight, and I haven't had a 1,000 ticket in ages! lol, because I'm, always online, they need to reward more for winning races, I'm almost out of cash for my tunings.

I guess PD wants us to pit more, perhaps to relieve the stress on the servers from everyone constantly driving! just a thought. ADD MORE RAM! lol

I think that they should re-worked some rally cars skins. Because they look so bad now. And it is not so big work. :)

I'm having a really bad bug where half my Replay scenes and half of my in-game driving views have MINIATURE effect(extra bloom and top and bottom blurred) applied to them randomly, this is major pain in ass, mainly because say, you're doing a 10 race championship, and you get stuck doing the Nurb with MINIATURE EFFECT.

Anyone else have this problem?

Since A-Spec is so vexingly short, PD really should do one or all of these things:...

...Any number of these would give GT5 replayability...

Totally agree. I keep coming back wanting to give GT another (and another and another) chance, but the lack of races has just turned this into a time-trial simulator for me. I'm too much of an introvert to get into online racing, so I'm stuck with a handful of uninspired races that only a small number of cars that I don't want to drive are eligible to race in.

I know this has been said about million times already but:
Please, oh please bring the various seasonal events back. The game needs them big time. I don't want to just race with supercars and ferraris, I want to chill out with my sub 200HP FF's and others.
Otherwise, this update is really, really nice and finally I'm able to change wheels on my '93 Civic SiR :D

I would say this has been there best update. I am anoyed about ps2 graphics on stanard cars and the claim of over 1000 diffrent cars when there is 10+ of the same car but with a different modle name. But this is there best update so far

I think the camera 'bumps' and perspective change is a nice touch, but there needs to be a way to turn it off...I'm trying to do the Nurburgring 24h and the constant screen re-adjustments in turns are just too much...They are giving me a headache

I'm a bit disappointed with the wheel selection, so far it seems like the same wheel options for all cars. The wheels available don't suit some cars, and they look too big for some cars too, making the car look like an off road buggy. I suppose a wheel size selector would be totally out of the question. I'd love to know the reason PD limited the wheel selection for each car instead of being able to choose all wheels for every car, you know like they used to have in older GT games.

Me.
It's stupid. I've no idea how to prevent it from returning without restarting gran turismo at the xmb.

Yeah, they miss some wheels that are available for some premiums... the BBS RS, Motegi Racing wheels, with the chrome lip and the Muscle car rims. Asked Kaz on twitter... we want all wheels for ALL cars.

Another oversight from PD: just found out I can't race my DLC Mini Cooper S' 11 in the A-spec Mini Challenge ("A challenging race [..] for Mini owners").

That's the only bug bear for me buts it's not the end of the world. I don't like to see modern wheels on older cars and there's nothing that really suits pre 90 cars IMO so I choose to keep most of my standards with original wheels as I mainly drive older road cars.

After playing with the new update for a couple of days, the only thing about 2.02 that really leaves a sour taste in my mouth is that screaming transmission on my LMPs. Please. Make. It. STOP! Lol

That's where a race editor would come in handy. We could then pick what cars we want to race against, with various skill or AI strength settings. There would be no need for PD to keep designing races for us.
Maybe a good idea for GT6 in a few years time.

I am curious why this isn't present in GT5 since release. Best thing for me would be to take McLaren F1, F40, RUF CTR Yellowbird, XJ 220 and few other supercars to Nürburgring and to have an cargasm! :sly:

Don't know if this has been mentioned here in this thread(lots of pages to read - pls excuse).

But, has anyone noticed serious lag issues when racing online. It seemed to be all good well, pretty much for the most part (12peeps, race quality Std - Chat low)...
As i said, everything was running real smooth... then after v2.02, lag is unplayable.

Private lounges are the same, public lobbies are the same, does'nt matter how you set host - fixed or other, the lag is really bad.

Our rooms only have guys from UK. Everyone has @least 30mb connex, couple have 50.down 5.up and i myself have 100.down 10.up.
We just can't figure out how to fix it.
Anyone know, or has this just came about with/after update.??

The update itself wasn't actually all that bad, but I've got to agree with what some people have said, the removal of the seasonal events wasn't a very good move at all. Just before the update I had just gotten back into the Lamborghini Seasonal and having heaps of fun with it, and was looking forward to having even more fun with exactly that seasonal over the holiday period, and then they just pull it. It actually left me very disappointed and I haven't played GT5 apart from finishing the seasonal races I hadn't done yet for the tickets. And not even sure why I did that, given it felt more like a chore than anything. Why, oh why, take away the Seasonals?

Edit: And before anyone wants to tell me I should have expected that all seasonal events will eventually expire, the expectation of expiration was, at least in the past, always set with the expiry date. I was always told previously when exactly an event was going to expire, and the event always expired on exactly that day. These seasonal events had no expiry date, as such, it was reasonable to believe, going by past experience, that these events would not expire. Figured I'd add that little edit, just in case.
