GT5 was not featured in the opening sequence. It's highly likely that it wont be in at all either, same goes for any PD project.

But it hasn't been confirmed that there is no news in the very long conference coming up.

Yah, would have been surprised if there'd been anything. Good game or not, it's caused them years of PR headaches prior to release, and Sony probably just wants to be done with it after 6 months of post release "fix my game, fix it now!" rants all over the net.

Yeah I was just about to say isn't the conference still some 40 mins long or so. Plus we still got 3 days left you never know what's going to happen.

Plus I do admit I'm ready for any bit of news regarding a update I want to jump at the chance to buy GT5, but the way it stands now I'm a bit scared.

Agreed, far too soon to call it a no show.

The game is already a good 7 months old and there hasn't been any DLC or anything like that so it's unlikely we'll get anything now.

Games in general were a no show. Most of it was about new hardware, such as the PS Move, and the PSVita (the new handheld).

But Move is not new hardware
New Games for it were shown for those who DONT spend 24hrs on gaming web sites.
But thats what sony needs to do to get the development in move shown.

PSN has still not been restored fully in NON US areas.

and in Japan they are waiting for Japan store and for the rest of the free chrome line cars DLC .
Allready had 3 DLC cars only 3 more to go.

I think the hope is for something along the lines of a major DLC release, and a E3 mention for that would make sense. Personally though, I don't expect such.

Erm. GT5 released last year.

And you wonder why it isn't at E3..................... :/

Exactly what he said. They'd be better off to put all their efforts into GT6 at this point. Making endless updates for GT5 doesn't pay the bills you know.

Scared of what? The game has had plenty of upgrades and was worth buying long before now. You expecting extra content for free and missing out on what is already available: seasonal events updated regularly, fantastic online community with some good close racing in a multitude of cars. Do your self a favour and get it now, it will take a little while to do all the events to get the good cars to fully enjoy the online racing with your own tuned cars.

Why were you expecting it to be there... :odd::boggled:

Probably because there hasn't been a E3 Sony Press Conference for as long as I can remember that didn't atleast mention GT (or TT) series atleast once... until now.

I guess there's more demos to be announced tomorrow? Bottom of the schedule for Tuesday lists:

4:00PM PDT
Exclusive Surprise Demos, Star Wars Exclusive, Activision CEO and More
Streaming Live on GameTrailers.com
Our final hour of live coverage is loaded with surprises. STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC drops an exclusive new trailer, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg answers Geoff’s questions, and we have a couple of top-secret demos we can’t tell you about just yet -- including some surprises for the PlayStation 3 that will be seen first right here!

Guess we'll see, but I don't really have my hopes up. Watching Sony's press conference was like being in a public library. Graveyards have more sounds.

^^ It might've been released last year, but its far from finished as we've been promised... Its the reason we expected PD to be at E3 to announce something for GT5. I guess that idea flew over your heads when people were saying all this.

On top of that when I watched the Sony press, they got into NFS and had exclusives just for the console. A few that might actually make me get the game. GT5 is great and all, but I don't need 15 of the same cars. Seemed like Sony was pushing NFS this year instead of GT5. Would be nice to see PD having people on the side working on DLC packs for new cars. I don't think that would be to hard to do.

Red Dead Redemption came out over 12 months ago and new DLC was announced for it at this year's E3. A Halo Reach map pack featuring classic maps was also announced, that also came out prior to GT5.

I'd play GT5 again if they released some paid DLC for it that added to the single-player game, but if that was happening it would have likely been announced.

It's the largest video game convention in the world and usually details everything for the next year, so it's safe to assume Forza and NFS are the only two franchises offering anything significant this year.

Guys if they were holding a massive suprise for us, why would they blow its cover in the opening sequence. They would hold it untill they have have the proper full anouncement.

If we get anything, it'll be around 6p CST when Sony shows some demos and surprises. I think the initial press conference was to respond to the outage, and show off future products and services. Today, hopefully, we'll learn more.

If not, I'd love to know exactly why PD pulled out.

A little OT, but did anyone notice how quiet it was during the conference. It was like the show was filled with corpses.

Maybe they're preparing to announce the next Polyphony project at Gamescom or at Tokyo Game show?

GT5 a 'no show' at Sony Press Con!

No updates, no news. GT5 a no show.

What did you expect? Did you expect them to announce a free 25-gigabyte download that gives GT5 a complete and total makeover? Anything less wouldn't really be very E3-worthy. A couple new track maps, a pack with a bunch of old but un-altered tracks, a set of ten or twenty new car models, or even a whole new game mode would be barely worth mention. E3 is more about unveiling upcoming titles and new products, rather than tiny add-ons to old products.

You don't see other developers devoting conference time to a new multiplayer map pack for a shooter or a new outfit for your Sims. Why should future GT5 DLC be any different?

The rumor is that it's a new title entirely, so it's unlikely that we're getting GT5 news, although it would be welcome.

Most bets are for Tourist Trophy 2, and if Europe is getting preference, then it probably will be at Gamescon in August.
