Hi all, I'm just wondering if anybody has seen my issue before, or any tips on how to go about fixing this.

I went to restore my old game save, and deleted the game data by accident, I soon figured that out and deleted my actual save. Well when I went to install the game data, it would get about 1/4 way and just quit installing, HDD light would go out and the game would stop responding. Ok. I wasn't too worried about that install, but my issues really came when I got back to my garage, where half my car icons will not show up, and if I try to develop the icons that are not there, it will freeze the game up. When I forcibly quit and come back, it gets to the main menu, where it will not show any movie, and if I choose any of the options it will freeze up, IF it lets me move the cursor. I have tried this offline and online, it makes no difference. After restoring the old save, I can get back to the garage, just to have said problem appear every time. I have deleted and re-downloaded the updates about 5 times now. I simply don't know what to do from here... :ouch: HELP!

Edit: Well it seems my profile just hates me. Either my backup is corrupt, and wants to corrupt all the new profiles, or it just doesn't like me anymore. The save corrupts like said before any time it is saved over, and every new game I make corrupts under that profile. I go to a different profile under the same PS3, and it works fine...

How do you "accidentally" delete your game data?? Anyways, if you had to re-download and install the data 5 times now, you should really format your PS3's hard drive! You'll always run into issues with that much junk "deleted" files on your system.

I have a feeling that your save file and your current version of GT5 isn't in sync, meaning you're using an older save than the current version. Example: Using a save from say, November 2012 with game data 2.11. You'll have issues!

Sorry for the late response, been busy the past few days. I have gone and repaired the hard drive through the PS3, and it did fix quite a few issues. By accidentally, I'm pretty sure my brain wasn't working right when I went into the Game Data Utility first. I am sure you are right on the game data out of sync, and i have pretty much given up on that old save. The issue now is even brand new game files (deleted old ones) will crash out like I said in the OP.

The reasoning on my repeated deletes and updates is so I could try creating a new save in 1.0.0 These crashed out as well. Considering this, and also that the game will not properly install the data, it leads me to believe my GT5 disk is at fault.

Do you think those junk files are to blame? If so I could format the HDD, but would really rather not if I don't need to...

Thanks for the reply, any help is great!
