GT5 endurance mode, who has already begun? + [A Spec]

I have done the GVS Endurance race and opened up the Roadster one. As I share the PS3 and because of life generally I am not sure how far into the Endurances I can go. Give me an in-race save option then no problem, but until then I think it is very unlikely that I will go beyond a 4 hour event.
 
I did the Grand Valley endurance race this weekend in my 90 RX7(tuned to slightly over 300hp) on hard compound race tires. I took it smooth and steady, stretching my pit intervals to every 24-28 laps with one last stop in the last few laps. I still managed to win by almost 10 laps. I really like the endurance events. After the inital scramble through the pack it's nice to settle into a groove and watch my lap times drop.

You're probably right, since my average lap time was 2:09, not 1:05 (Grand Valley, not Tsukuba). Makes me consider going a bit easier on my own street car, considering what the tyres cost :dunce: Toyo Proxes T1R could be Sport Hard/Intermediate?

They are probably Comfort Softs. I think even the sport hard tires are true r-compounds.

My guess for each category:
Comfort Hard - run flat all-season tires, or those economy tires that are meant to last 60,000 miles before wearing down at all
Comfort Medium - your typical performance all-season/entry summer tire, like the Continental Extreme Contact
Comfort Soft - seems like fairly high performance summer tires, maybe even the Direzza Star Spec. There's a big difference between these and comfort hards.

Sport hard - your typical Toyo RA-1/r888, Advans, Nitto NT-01
Sport Medium - Hoosier R6, Kuhmo v710s, basically your top of the line r-compound tire found at time trials and HPDEs
Sport soft - insanely fast, probably even faster than Hoosier A6 or Hankook c214 c91

Anyway, that's just my opinion - back to the subject...
I've completed the first 2 races, did them this weekend. The roadster enduro was punishing. I had to split it up, like a long drive to a boring relative's house or something. I took my spec miata (search for this thread, it's a neat competition), and just banged out 1:08's all afternoon.

I hope that once Bob gets to the enduro races, specifically the 24h ones, I can just leave him out there and go skiing for the weekend while he drives his little heart out.
 
ive done first 4 races, now im boosting xp to level 30 and i think tommorow ill try the 9 hours race
 
A-SPEC
So far I've only completed the Grand Valley 60laps in Aspec.
Took 1h10min with the X1.

B-SPEC
Completed all of them except Nurburgring 24h. By calculating on the EXP needed to get from 35-40, I came up with 5 days of constant Le mans 24h grinding to be the fastest way. My wife ain't too happy about me leaving the console on for that long, so atm I'm taking a break.

If you ever watch BMI (Best Motoring International), they did a couple of "endurance" races that lsted 20min at Tsukuba, and after that 20min, the tires where missing big chunk of rubber. So, 20 laps at roughly 1:05, yeah I'd say its pretty realistic for tire wear.

Maybe so but how can the AI make it another 15 laps? That is not realistic.
 
I have them all done up to level 30. I actually enjoy them, but I already know that makes me rare. I will start one, race a couple hours, walk away, rinse, repeat.
 
I've done the first 3. I need to complete Formula GT (and probably do a bit of grinding) before I can do the Indy 500, though.
 
I have done grand valley and tsukuba. The only fun thing about tsukuba is the car-restriction. I wonder, is the 07 roadster the best car you can pick for the race? I did 246 laps with that one fully tuned with pitstop every 40 min.

Isn't that too long for X1? I did 60 laps GV today with F GT and made it in 1h30min.
 
4 hours is about the limit for what I'll do once I unlock the endurance races. Having a family means I simply won't have the time for anything more than that in A-Spec.
 
Haven't gotten that far yet but I did every enduro in GT4 in Aspec (all 3 24 hr races included) so i don't think I'll have a problem with the ones in GT5. Looking forward to it actually...
 
I only have to do the 24h Nurb in A-spec and im done with Endurance races in A-spec

i think i will never get to do the endurance races that are any longer than 6 hours, because other people need to use my ps3.

In A-Spec I have did up to the 1000km Suzuka race. Have not had time to do that one yet
In B-Spec I have did all but the 2 24hour events. Not ready to tie up my PS3 that long.
 
I've done up to Tsukuba 9 Hrs. Need to find another person so I have a 5 person group doing each of the 24Hr. Races.
 
I've done 4 and I've repeated grand valley and laguna. Gonna do Indy again tomorrow and I'll finally hit level 30...
 
I did the GVS300 today, with a stock FT-86 G-Sports Concept. Way quite fun, actually, because I quite like the car. I guess I'll redo it with the regular FT-86.

But there's no chance in hell I'd ever drive a Miata round Tsukuba for 4 hours straight. No. Chance. In. Hell. I'd probably die from boredom before finishing the race.

The Laguna Seca event might be interesting again, though.

LOL you think that's boring? Imagine what a 24 Hours at Indy with Fiat 500's only would be like. :dunce:
 
I did the grand valley on monday A-Spec, did it while at work in B-SPEC yesterday, currently grinding european champ with bob to get some cash so after christmas i can have my garage with over 500 cars and then do the enduros in b-spec first maybe, but my drivers AREN'T GETTING THERE PAWS ON MY FERRARIS.
 
I Did all of them, but left 2x 24hour races in A-spec.

After X mas I'm going to choose X1 2010 and pick LA Sathre circuit. And from there i will drive for 6 hours and park my car for another 4 hours, after that time competition in their CLK-GTR's and Toyota's Race Cars should close the gap so i will repeat 6 hours driving routine and 4 hour parking my X2010. After that i should have only 4 quick hours of driving so let's add those hours.

2x6h driving 12h
2x4h parking 8h

and Last 4 hours of driving gives me only 16 hours out of 24. Thats' sounds much better then straight 24 hour driving in Bentley Race Car or any other GT car. That's my opinion and no one have to agree with that but 24 hours of straight driving and take a pee into the bottle is INSANE :sly:
 
Great idea, i'll do this too ! Actually the X1 is so fun to drive that enduro races have become a lot less painful.

Wow ! Impressive. But how will you reach lv40 ? Do you plan to race Le Mans over and over again :dunce: ??
