So I wanna do a gt5 endurance race but have a car that is dead even with the field, not to fast not to slow to my the experience better for me. Have any of you ever done this? if so which endurance race with what car?

I never make my endurance races "even." I know lots of people care about the "experience" of a close race (I like it too! Sometimes :indiff: ) but I recommend you use a race car for races like Grand Valley 300KM, Laguna Seca 200 Miles, etc. That way you're guaranteed to win and you won't have to repeat the race if you lose.

Have to agree with this to much time invested to lose..

X1 endurance :sly:

Guess I should have read closer, you are looking to have a close race.. the Tsukuba race with the mazda roadsters can be a good one.. not to long of an endurance race and if you lower PP it will give you a close race!

So what if you had to do them again?
It's a game.

If done several endurance races several times.
(not the tsukuba ones obviously:sly:)

The grand valley and 4 hour Nürburgring are my favorites 👍

@TS: pick a car you like, start the race and evaluate after 10 laps.
Than deside if you want to use this car or start the race over with a more/less powerfull car.

Check the race reports section of the forum. There is a lot of information there regarding what cars can win. Pick one toward the bottom of the PP scale and go with it.

If you don't like that idea, then pick something in line with the PP that the competition will be using and use the same tires. I wouldn't pick the same PP as the highest car in the list, as you'll probably just run away from them. Pick something at about 90%-95% depending on your ability, etc.

So what if you had to do them again?

Uh, dude. Used a Peugeot 908 HDi FAP for the Laguna Seca enduro. Took me almost two and a half hours. Did Grand Valley 300KM in an X2010, one hour and ten minutes. Considering that most A-spec races take no more than ten minutes at most, that's a very long time to spend on one race.

could it be that's why it's called an endurance race?

💡

Yeah, the point of an endurance race is that its suppose to be long, and test your patience and like the name says, your endurance.

Why ruin a great experience flying a UFO like the X1 around a track when you can use any other of the 1000 + cars which will make your experience alot better?!

Running a car which is very even with the AI cars, where a slight mistake may cost you your lead, and you have to push yourself to get back to the 1st place is alot more fun then driving circles around your opponent for 1 + hour.

But by all means, use whatever car you want and drive the races your way.

Because sometimes we have real life to worry about and if you muck up and lose the lead on the last 15 mins of the 24 hour enduros, it will have been a waste of time. That's why I'm a n00b and why I use an X1 for all enduros.

Yeah, well thats too bad if you mess up then. ;)

As I mentioned, run the race the way you want, in whatever car/ufo you like.

Im just saying that using a closer matched car is alot more fun and gives you a good challenge, and specially on the longer endurances (9hr - 24hr) it will not be as boring as demolishing the competition.

Now all we need is for PD to release some seasonal events that are endurance races with various restrictions and the new Performance Difference Adjustment.

A race car? :indiff:
I've used a stock Lexus IS-F on Sports Hard for both of those enduro and even that was quite easy.
I guess it depends on what you want to get out of the enduro, drive an X2010 for a guarantee win and be bored out of your mind, or drive an evenly matched car and risk having to lose the race but in return have a much more challenging and exciting race.

2 1/2 hours isn't a very long time. Most people spend that long or more playing every single night. It's just that on endurance night you'll spend it on one race. For the longer races the "guaranteed win so I don't have to do this [apparently] unpleasant race again that I'm only doing for the sake of completion" argument makes a lot more sense. But there's no real reason not to try to have a little fun with the 4-or-less races unless you really have no time to play.

I suggest making them even longer... spend one evening tuning and another racing perhaps. You can never really be sure of how your car matches up until you start seeing how the pace changes as pit-stops get close, so it's good to at the very least run a half-hour to an hour of practice before the race.

One other thing - in the non-racecar events, you don't NEED to use a racecar to get an easy win. Pick a nice but fast street car and you're good to go. An X2010 vs a 450pp field of street cars will never be anything but hotlap practice.

I did both those races in a 85-86hp Suzuki GSX and had a ball doing them. So much so that I've done them both several times and will likely do them again..

Win or lose I always enjoy the ride.I like to say that I race to the finish line, not for the finish line!..

I'm kind of partial to the Grand Valley 300km race, however, any of the Endurance races can be quite fun if your car doesn't overwhelm the AI field.

Even running the 4 hour Miata/Roadster race can be a blast if you use comfort tires!

👍 I don't use an X1 for all of them, but race cars are more fun to drive for longer periods of time IMO. Imagine having to drive a tuned street car... that you HATE... for four hours. That's why I won't do Tsukuba four hours because I hate my Miata :yuck:

And yeah, I don't have that long to spend playing video games; I love GT5 but I've got other things to do.

I've done the endurance races and won them all with the x1, I'd simply like to go back and redo them with somethings that keeps the field close this time. So if i win well sweet if I lose its ok bcuz i've already won lol

are you guys for real?? using the x1 for enduros?? are you serious. come on the AI NEVER use x1 this is hardly fair racing. use slower cars make a race out of it, personally i use cars with 100-200bhp less than the opponents i like to spend 2-4 hours catching first place. tyre wear and fuel usage make it exciting, running off a quater full tank to reduce weight and gain that important .2 of a second per lap. not every body likes to sit for that long with a blank expresion on their face flying past the opponents for hours in a x1 hahaha.. boring
