GT5 freeze and cars pack error

hey everyone

Today i was gifted with two problems which i would like to know how to solve them, if it is possible...

1 - my ps3 keeps freezing while im racing, could it be overheat? or is it possible that ps3 can't handle races with 16 cars and changing weather at the same time? Also, many times it froze by the same time i was locking backwards to see how far away the other opponents were from me, could it be that my ps3 is out of video memory or something? i already uninstalled all demos and games i don't want for now... my ps3 has only 40gb

and

2- because my ps3 keeps freezing every race, a dumb error occurred, i can no longer select my cars from the cars pack or DLC packs, which i bough from ps3 online store, it says that the "downloadable content needs to be installed" but it's already installed, and i checked it i cant reinstall it. I can access the new tracks but i cant select the cars from the packs

anyone can help me?

Do you have the game installed to your ps3? If not, do so. If you do try recovering files and possibly reinstalling. In either case clear the cache and inspect your disc.

If you have you game installed, then erase it (not the game data or you will loose everything) and reinstall. You don't mention what PS3 you have, but there is a slight chance that it could be the PS3. But don't worry, that's only a slight chance.

Did you try restoring file system through recovery console? Look like you have some files corrupted.

I think i uninstalled GT5 once, but not all the data, i mean when i came back to play the game some time after and i still had my progress, but i'm not sure how to know if the game is installed to my ps3...

I am confused because there are two options for data:

SAVED DATA UTILITY (PS3tm)

which says:

GT5 - Data containing details of your progress through the game
Play time
Current credits
Current car

805 KB

- and:

GAME DATA UTILITY - v. 2.02 - 6.174 MB (yes i haven't installed the optional 8gb)

so which one should i delete or uninstall without loosing all my progress and cars and etc?

Yes well i don't know how to identify my ps3, it's not slim, it just says that is a 40GB ps3...

I might try that: Restore File System - Attempts to repair all areas on the hard disk drive where files can be saved. Corrupted data may be erased if it cannot be recovered.

but i am afraid to lose data from this game and other games, or even playstation network account information.

Also, I have done some google search to find out if anybody had this same problem, i found these sites:

I guess i could just reinstall the game or one of the data without losing my progress, but i don't know if its saved data or game data which i should delete, or if have to reinstall everything and lose progress i might just wait for PD (polyphony digital) to fix this problem on a new update. The worst is if my issue has to due with corrupted data or files, then maybe not even a new update will fix it...
