I had a squint as a child and had to have a few operations to rectify it.

As a consequence of this I cannot see 3D.

I can't see the 3D effects in 3D movies as to me they look 'normal' and I don't flinch as everybody else did recently when we went to the Sea life centre in Birmingham and watch a film where a whale 'came out of the screen'.

I do hope they bring the game out in 3D as I'm the minority I guess but I hope there is a normal setting for people like me or for people who do not want to sit there looking like Joe 90.

So can you see in 3D?

They should perfect HD instead of coming out with gimmicks.

I can, however I have never seen the point of having it in games.

Well, according to reports, it looked incredibly real rather than gimicky, and enhanced the experience.

I'm wondering about the impracticalities of having to wear 2 sets of glasses just to play games at the full experience.....

to me 3d has only ever looked naff but it also gives me some cracking head aches.

i personally feel that PD have waisted enough dev time on GTM and online that other such gimmicks should be dropped.

I would totally want it assuming it can be switched off and it doesn't mean we loose something else in the process.

To make 3D without resolution loss or fps loss you need:
Game running 60Hz for each eye and resolution of 1080p for each eye. For hardware power that would mean running 2160P resotion at 120Hz!!! (a PS4 at least :) )
Panasonic will bring this type of TV technology but we will how it works when it arrives. No problem for movies as they are only 24Hz doubling that is not too hard with bluray technology.

I know Sony recently announced 3d for their new Bravias and Panasonic mentioned 3d too, but i don't know if 3d is still in it's early stages of development.I doubt we will see it in GT5, though maybe in GT6.

I wouldn't really consider online modes or games for other consoles as "gimmicks"...

I can't see 3D, so no matter to me either way. If that is what the consumer wants, bring it.

I won't state anything about the refresh rate and rendering, since I'm not sure about the tricks that can be used, but the resolution isn't 2160p at all... This would mean like 7680 x 2160, so watch what you're saying :]

yes number is wrong. But hardware will have to do two times 1080p. You can not even talk about normal resolution because 1080p x 2 goes only for processing. Final product is still 1080p 60Hz but now in 3D.

well, 3d tv has always looked very promising to me but as long as the user needs to wear glasses of some sort or is comprimised in any way, it just doesnt quite cut it. the only time 3d tv will come along properly is when someone develops something like a rear projection tv which has two projection systems and instead of glasses there is a device at each corner of the room which tells the tv where the boundaries of the room are. it then adjusts the angle of the projection in such a way that in front of the tv would be like a hologram of some sort. the screen may also have a red/blue film on it instead of the user having to wear it.

Wait... does this mean i will be able to see those utter cardboard '3D' trees jumping out of my screen? ;)
Shouldn't they rather work on the details before even think about 3D?
Yeah... I can see dead people. Yup .

So what does one need to see GT5 in 3d? a special tv? a special cable?

That goes into my sig, right now. I feel completely identified with this. 👍

I'm worried about 3-D media in the future. I can't see 3-D (can barely see at all in one eye) and lots of 3-D movies and games are coming out in the future. Could it be possible in the future that all forms of enetertainment is in 3-D? Hope not.

As technical point console harware is not ready for this if we do not lower to sub hd resolution and 30 fps.

I don't see the point as most people are still playing on CRTs - are they gonna go out and buy a new 3d-capable display before GT5's release? Think not

They're looking to the future SUPER. I think it's awesome. I've never viewed a 3D tv or movie, but if it works as well as I hear it does for GT, then I think it's a brilliant innovation. Combine this with the eye-toy cockpit lookaround thing, and it's going to make for a very cool experience. THE FUTURE IS HEARE!!yay

ps. I can't believe how many people don't care about this, before they've even tried it.

I reckon we will have it but you will have to buy second PS3

"I Can't see in 3D so hope there is a normal none 3D GT5 option"

thats my choice.

I don't like 3D movies so I think the same for games. But I never saw a 3D game.

-> On my personal viewpoint, there is no need to rush 3D tech on GT5. That can wait in the far future.

I don't fall for the "jumping out of the screen" crap at 3D movies. But, what I do see is depth of field. That is if I can get past the fact that you're wearing sunglasses indoors and most of the time, they do not raise the brightness....morons.
