GT5 has made me Cheap

I just can't do it, I cannot bring myself to part with my credits. Last night I passed on the Bentley race car because I didn't want to drain my virtual bank account. I've got 9.5 million saved up and no, I'm not saving for any particular car.

Have any of you found yourselves hoarding your credits for no real reason at all?
 
Well, if you dont buy a rare car in used car lot even if you have the money, you can just trade cars here on gtplanet, so cars isnt a issue really.
 
I have 20 million now and every race I run I have trouble pre-spending the winnings... Feels like losing money.
 
18.6 Million , so as not to waste money if theres no Cars in the UCD I like , I just Refurbish the Engines in the Bob's Grinding Cars .

I'd hate to get to 20 Million and lose money because of the 20 Million Cap :grumpy:
 
Yeah, when I see a car I want in the UCD, I judge its value by the number of laps around Indy I need to do to pay for it!

I have B-Spec running Dream Car tournament almost all the time when I'm home to change the race. You can skip the last one, as four wins gives enough points to win the tournament. This all adds up to almost 1 mil in an hour without you having to do pretty much anything.

After I started doing this, I haven't had much trouble buying the cars I want from dealerships and I even have enough savings for the expensive rareties if they appear someday.

So credits are capped 20 million? Aren't there cars that cost 20 million? You could be at the cap and then spend all of your credits just for 1 car. It makes no sense why they would develop the game that way.

There are ways to buy cars in GT5 without losing your credits :D

If duplication is what you are implying I'm not in to that, nor will I use the B-day exploit.
 
I felt like that up until today when I spent some of teh 17 million I had on:

Peugeot 908
Nomad
Two Super GT cars
Ford RS200
and a Jaguar 220 LM

It felt good
 
I forgot about the Peugeot 908, perhaps I'll be buying a car in the near future.
 
I know what you mean about becoming cheap. I went through a phase of having hardly any credits at all as i bought any car that took my fancy when i saw i. I now have 7.1 mil and aprox 190 cars in my garage hardly any of which i ever drive. I now find my self holding back on spending my credits and setting my self a limit of which i will not go below.
Is that true that the max cap is set at 20 mill? Thats pretty pants!

From everything I've heard yes, and there's several cars that cost exactly that amount.
 
I bought an ALFA 8C and an Aston Martin DB-9 last night and it felt great because it was like paying nothing. It was difficult to tell if my credits actually went down.

Already won the Indy 200 laps endurance in B spec. Good car.
 
I am hording a lot of money too. 7.5M. Not saving for anything, but I refuse to spend money on a non-premium car.
 
They might be in-game credits, but they have real value because of the time you need to put in to earn them. Not wanting to waste them is totally normal.

When the XJ220 LM Race Car popped up in my UCD, I thought long and hard before blowing nearly all my credits on it. In the end I bought it, and I'm glad I did because it was a great car for the 1 day I owned it (traded it for a GT40 Race Car '69). When another one showed up in the UCD, I grabbed it right away.

I got 15,000,000 I really hate spending money on cars that "I have to have" I bought a McLaren F1 and re loaded my save data just to get my Cr. back! tbh i think all the Cr.20,000,000 cars suck, so i don't even know what i'm saving the money for :confused:
 
I had 20M... I was thinking what to buy. Bough a bunch of high-end road cars, like M5, R8, RS6, MP4-12C and others... Yeah. Bought my love Motul Pitwork Z '06 as well.
Today I thought: Why? And spend 4 Mils on 908 Matmut :D.

I'll remember that, I was thinking of using my F-GT in both A and B-spec as I figured it's the closest thing to an actual Indy car in the game.

As for the money, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one whose hesitant to spend.
 
im finally up to 7.6 mil and saving til 20 to blow it all on one car...then dup it and reload my save with the money and blow more on something else and relax until 24hrs pass and dup again. Its only a game and I will enjoy it.
 
I been saving but for what I have not decided yet. :lol:
 
I mostly just buy tires nowadays, but I do find myself hesitant to shell out $5 mil on a car, even though I'm sitting on 18$ mil. I do browse the UCD every couple of races, and will occasionally pick up a car that I've been waiting for when it pops up between the endless mind-numbing stream of Miatas and Fits.

With that said... given the absolute STUPIDITY of the credit and xp system, the UCD, and the goofy $20 mil cap, I have no moral dilemma whatsoever in "replenishing" my GT5 bank account if I have to drain it on that Sauber I'm waiting for. :D

I have a meager 400G right now, and yes, I too hate spending it.

However, I certainly do. I'm only 16 A and 14 B spec, but I have my Murcielago SV which I was really saving for and my Cobra which I would have saved for if I hadn't happily won it. Also Ferarri 512BB because I will need it for classic Supercar race, and a Countach for B-Spec (don't like letting them use my premiums, hate using standards for myself). And a handful of other cars I bought just because I needed them, and a few I've dumped what can only be called stupid amounts of money into just to get B-spec to win, or because I wanted to try something.

I still need/want to get a 458 Italia, ZR1, 300SL, the Art Morrison C1, and maybe even a Z06 and another Cobra (so I can get both the right color AND stripes, which it is supposed to have IMO hehe), plus an SLS AMG, oh, and I'll need a Gallardo too for that series, and it would be neat to play around with the 430 Scuderia and maybe even an Enzo too.

Too many credits to get. :nervous:

Once you open up the Indy race in the American events you'll be able to make the "big" bucks (117,000cr for 5 laps)

I'm the same way. Worked my way up to $5mil, & watched it all go down the drain when I bought my FGT. Had like $70k left. I've since worked my way back up to $17mil, & went on a mini spending-spree last night.

I'm currently on about $7.6mil, and have only been buying cars needed to complete the seasonal's. :)

I really need to buy an FGT but refuse too, even though there always seem to be plenty available...
I just suck so bad at driving them, I doubt I will do that championship. :(

Have you done the seasonal races? They pay out crazy money. You can make 3 or 4 million easily without having to grind for one minute. And...I haven't even looked at B-Spec.
