GT5 is Freezing on me... alot.

GT5 has been locking up on loading screens alot recently. There are specific events and tracks where it will do this.

LIST OF THINGS THAT CAUSE LOADING SCREEN FREEZE:
The Nurburgring
The 1990+ AWD Rally seasonal events
The new car dealer
I tried to delete the 8gb install and re-install it and it freezes during that.

The game is basically unplayable in this state.

My worry is that my save file is corrupted and that I will have to start the game over from scratch.

Does anyone have any idea on what is happening?

just sign out and restart your router It worked with me
 
Might sound trivial but is your disc clean? I wrongly thought the last update had messed my game up as it was constantly freezing and it turned out my disc needed a good clean.
 
Ok so earlier I deleted the game data, not my save file. Put the game in and let it update. Now the game does not boot up at all. It just loads a black screen and does nothing I have to just quit back out to the XMB.

ALSO I cleaned the disc just now, thanks for the suggestion! It was kinda smudged up.
Haven't messed with my router yet though. Probably will after the game updates.

i did that and my whole thing froze.
i had to start from scratch..

Turn off all music.. see if that helps

I have been using it. I thought that they had fixed the freezing issue. Also I only listen to my own music during races.

I was gonna ask the same thing. I had that problem and it seemed when my son changed the disc to play his games he had his prints all over mine. I cleaned it and it works perfect.

Don't wanna jump to any unnecessary conclusions but does it do this to other games? It sounds like your HDD needs a format or replace.
 
few things to get the problem down

Try other games
Stop playlist
Disable internet connection when playing GT
