Hello Stevo, while you're fairly new here, you have already heard from the mods before. No need to get defensive.

When you signed up, you agreed to this handy little guy, we ask that you make the effort to spell and capitalize properly to make it easier not only for fellow English speakers, but also those who don't call English their primary language.

If PD ever did open a service allowing fans to have their cars added into the game for a price... I imagine it'd be pretty popular!

Yeah sorry about the capitalization. Defence comes natural, Although I was sure not be abusive or pain anyone's feelings. Sorry again I'll keep an eye on my grammar

who thinks we should all vote for 1 car to take the place as the "reasonably priced car" for gtplanet users... would have to have similar specs etc. to the cee'd

what your saying i'm poor? considering i own the real car wich cost ALOT i'm sure i could affort it being made on a GAME...ha and plus can you really see pd asking thousands? personaly i wouldn't spend anymore then i paid for the game

Huh, most car dealers in my area don't accept Alots as payment! :sly:

If I collect a yellow Mazda Miata, a yellow Mazda MX-5 and a yellow Eunos Roadster, I have three different cars - and they'll need three parking spaces at my house.

That's got to be one of the worst arguments I've ever heard. You could say the same for collecting two yellow Mazda Miatas. They would take up two spaces out side my house, ergo GT5 has infinite number of cars!

I'm sorry but people do have a point here, to list a Opel and Vauxhall Tigra separately does start to take the pi...

Don't get me wrong I understand why PD do it, but it does raise peoples expectations. Maybe they should do the same for cars as they do with tracks " xxx cars with 1034 variations!"

Just throwing this out there in addition; to drive any 3 of the "identical" MX-5's in PSP, they all drive, well, identically. Whether they should have slightly different specifications based on their original region of sale, I won't argue, but in the game, PD hasn't made those distinctions. It's a badge/driver-side deal, it seems.

I agree - and they haven't actually gone far enough with regards to differentiating the cars. They have, for instance, used the Roadster and all its trim levels/specials as a basis and simply changed the name from Roadster to MX-5/Miata. There is no such thing as a Miata SR Limited or an MX-5 SR Limited. In fact one of the colours the Roadster SR Limited comes in - Sparkle Green Metallic - didn't make it to North America at all and only hit Europe in the '98 MX-5 Berkeley, which didn't have chrome mirrors and had unique wheels.

As an MX-5 "enthusiast" I'm more disappointed that nonexistant trims are included in this way than non-enthusiasts are that there's three seemingly identical cars. Not to mention that the real creams of the MX-5 crop worldwide aren't on the list at all - the RS Limited, the M2-1002, the Le Mans, the BBR Turbo, the Mazdaspeed Miata and so on.

If Kazunori wants my input to help generate his encyclopaedia, he has my e-mail address...

A response I already debunked...

And yet they're the easiest ones of all to justify. Opels are left-hand drive, Vauxhalls are right-hand drive.

Perhaps - but in reality you can't tell someone who has a Miata that they have the same car as someone who has a Roadster, so why the need to lump them together in GT?

Where did PD say that it was 1034 completely different cars? I remember seeing something like, ''1000+ cars''.
Not 1000+ cars that are nothing alike''.

No offence, just saying...

Other than seeing a replay and wondering for a split second why this car doesn't have somebody sat in the drivers seat, I can't see how this would make the slightest difference to a standard car.

No offence taken - I'm not saying that I don't understand why PD do it to boost numbers, I'm just saying that i also understand why people get annoyed about this when, I for one would describe the two tigras, for want of a better example, as the same car.

And the wipers will be the other way about and the badging will be different. Already said that too.

A Vauxhall Tigra is not the same car as an Opel Tigra. Sure, it looks the same, will, in most instances, have the same engine and gearbox ranges and, generally, has the same paint colours even, but they're not the same car. Two Vauxhall Tigras of the same specification are probably the same car - though, thanks to the world of tolerances, you could make a point that they aren't, but from an "encyclopaedia" perspective, they are - but one Vauxhall and one Opel are not.

One of the oft-stated purposes of GT is to be an encyclopaedia of cars. Encyclopaedias include all variations of all models, whether we like it (or are interested) or not - and car manufacturers are good at variation - there's sixteen different versions (body type, engine, transmisson) of the 997 911 on sale at the moment. At this point, PD have their focus on variations of Lancer/Evo, Impreza, MX-5, Clio (go figure), Skyline, RX-7 and S2000 (I believe GT is still the only game with AP1 and AP2 generation S2000 road cars). We can hope that, in the future, they extend this focus to cars that you like too - I certainly wouldn't object to forty-odd Corvettes of the same generation any more than I'd object to ten-or-so Skylines of the same generation. More is more.

But then you have different car lists for different regions, something they were keen to avoid in order to make online play as smooth as it could be.

This is a very simple summary of why we get different model names for different regions. Yet people still are still contesting it.

Would you rather have region locked online features?

Can anyone with the game confirm to me that Toyota SUPRA RZ ‘97 is really a standard?

If so that is very very odd decision and the only thing that I'm not happy with the game...

This dissappoints me. The MKIV Supra RZ is my all time favourite car. It's odd how they only have the '97 model RZ and SZ-R, when theres a good few different versions of it from it's 9 year production span. It seems PD aren't that interested in Toyota anymore, they're in bed with Nissan and Honda.

FT-86, FT-86G (or whats the name of that order model)? Prius..

Well, i'm just concerned that the MK.IV Supra seems to have been neglected slightly as far as the road models go. GT2 had 6 MK.IV Supras (7 if you include the TRD 3000GT). I feel like it is under-represented with only 2 models, both of which from the same year.

Even as standard cars, it would've been nice to have a few more. But i'm sure everyone has the same opinion with another car they feel is unrepresented. I'm just surprised, because Toyota has always been one of the big names in GT alongside, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mistubishi, Subaru and the like. And the Supra was probably their most iconic model in the 1990s (Alongside the MR2 and the Celica. which are both slightly better represented).

BMW E30 M3 (1987-1991)?

Curious how come this car hasn't made the game? Although I cannot verify as the game isn't out here until tomorrow or Wednesday. I figured since PD was able to obtain the rights for BMW M cars and since the Mercedes 190E (+ Touring Car) are in there how come not the first / iconic M3?

Sorry to beat a dead horse. Although I hope PD adds it down the road.

Proud E30 M3 owner here...

Cheers,

-Terry

One or more of the below:

This means they're limited by:
*What cars they know about
*What cars they want
*What cars they can get licences for
*What cars they can get access to
*What cars they have time to model

Can someone please answer me this. Is this image of the Pagani C12S genuinely a GT5 image? The Pagani Zonda C12S looks this, well, poor....?

To be fair, that image is from an off-screen capture, with nearly all the details blown out into white. So no, they won't look that bad.

There are some Standard images in this News article - just find the cars that aren't listed as Premiums in the car list.

I know what you mean but it's not the lack of details that bothers me. It's actually shaping and the way the curves around the wing for instance and around the door and door window are made up of straight lines and not too many polygons. Yes the angle probnably makes it worse but still...

I'm happy they put my focus ST170 In. Top gear geared for a max 181mph some tuning mods should enable me to have some fun with It.
Shame the real version hasn't the power to make It dance.
Great work on the list.

There's a lot of Supra racecars though lol.
