There is a HUGE, MASSIVE difference between stating a number of cars in a game compared to the cars that are actually complete and can be used for everything in the game with all the features. 800 PSP ported standard cars do not count as 1000 cars. As an example: You still cant take the 800 standard cars to the photo travel. There are about 200 finished cars in GT5. Thats like saying you have 1000 quarters in your bank yet 800 of those are actually pennies. :lol:

Now if PD had actually put out 1000 premium "finished" cars, that would have been very impressive.

So dont get your hopes too high about tracks. Some might count as reverse tracks, or section tracks, could be anything to exaggerate the number.

But did PD say "GT5 will have 1000 cars that are completely modeled with 500,000 polygons and will be able to be sued with every single aspect of the game"? No. Do 800 PSP ported cars count as 800 cars? Yes. Can you drive and race them? Yes. It would be more like saying you have 1000 coins in the bank and 800 of them are pennies.

Keep in mind PD loves to exaggerate numbers to raise hype. 1000 cars in GT5 sound familiar. So plug in the PD conversion and you get. "Large number of tracks" = 20% completed tracks. :sly:

Going to have to agree with you here. They did it with Gran Turismo 5, so they might do it with Gran Turismo 6. But seriously, if I see Standard and Premium divisions for tracks then I will stop buying Gran Turismo games.

EDIT: They might import all the tracks from Gran Turismo 4 and work on probably about 4-8 original ones (Premium).

Besides, I think it was the Polish person interviewing Lucas that came up with that particular idiom.
