Sadly I didn't play Shenmue (Release Date: November 7, 2000 back in those days that was no match amount money spent in games and Shenmue failed to make profit) but concerning Gamerankings it has 89.09% score, guess it is not a bad one. And GTА4 - 97.01% while GT5 got 84.39%. I mean that GT5 is not perfect as it could be while developers had enough time and money funds.

Shenmue is probably the epitome of Japanese attention-to-detail and blind ambition, in videogame form. It's hardly surprising Kaz would aspire to make something similar.

I think GT didn't cost 80.000.000. I think they included advertisment.

Well but even if the 80.000.000 are without marketing you can't compare GT with Halo 3 or GTAIV. They didn't used the budget to buy the license for hundred of cars and some tracks.

Totally agree with you there, there's more than enough Skylines in the game, and we need more variety of cars in the game. And what's worse, those cars are made by Nissan, PD's favourite car manufacturer.

Hey! Captain Obvious here! GT5 is sponsored by Nissan and it goes where the sponsor says it goes; does what the sponsor says. Not really much more to say there. We can accept it or we can :banghead:

It could also mean people find it more fun to kill hookers than to drive around a racetrack. GTA IV is not a perfect game either, personally I had way more fun with GTA San Andreas.

So the question is: OKAY PD you like nissans BUT there are many other nissan models other than GTR!! I dont' think Nissan will be against other racing and road Nissan cars in GT5.

I understand your point. However, Sony has a stake in doing Nissan's bidding as it's a marketing partnership and Sony doesn't produce cars, they produce games. Licensing is the most likely the cause for the delay and/or complete lack of other cars...:banghead:

That's the reason why Gran Turismo have a lot of cars, but they don't have the cars we want, licensing more than 800 cars they already have take a lot of time
