^Honestly, you're not a music person are you?

I mean, everyone with a soul likes music, but do you LOVE music? Not just a certain genre, but music in a whole?

My current favorite, is the Jazz piece with the Electric Lead Guitar Solo throughout. Reminds me of Allan Holdsworth. I can't remember the name but I'll post it next time I'm on.

MCR- Planetary(GO!)
Daiki Kasho-Soul on display
Daiki Kasho-Shadows of our past.

I'm into alternative and rock...👍

London Elektricity - Just One Second (Apex Remix) , GT5 already has it in its default racing soundtrack list and was the song that played in that amazing Ferrari 458 Italia tribute trailer.

Haha I love the GT Auto music just because that's the only song my roommate knows how to play on piano. And i love the song with the kids... Baby by PNAU. No idea why.

Nirvana will always be in my heart , but recently got into a band called "2 door cinema club" , one of their tracks is on the gt5 list.

For good driving music I love listening to "find yourself" by John O'Calaghan feat Sarah Howls.

Air and the Album "moonlight safari" is another great electro act from France.

Gentlemen's Blues, ooooh, that song is delicious! When I first heard it in the introduction for Jeff Gordon's NASCAR Academy, it got me super thrilled. XD Such an appropriate track for America's greatest Stock Car races.

I've just filled my custom playlist with all the Feeder, Garbage, Snoop Dogg (:p), and other epic stuff from previous soundtracks. The songs on GT5's soundtrack just don't do it for me.

I like most of the ambient music they have included. The unique Gran Turismo feeling would be missing if it wasn't there. Most reviewers failed to realise that but I think they are spoiled by all the commercial music we hear in other games nowadays. I appreciate that PD gave us a sophisticated soundtrack this time.

Haha, its funny that this thread should exist. A few days ago my wife told me that she thinks that the music in GT5 sounds like elevator music... its hard to disagree :p

Best included music of any Gran Turismo title. Even before I eventually got my PS3 and GT5, I was jamming on YouTube to some of GT5's songs. Maybe the most surprising track of all is "The Entertainer," played when you visit GT Auto. Then again, GT Auto is so lighthearted that this song surprisingly fits the bill. There are some people who say that they get tired of hearing "The Entertainer" when going to GT Auto. But really (and honestly), I'd rather listen to that than My Chemical Romance from the GT5 intro.

Some of my favorites:
• Pnau - Baby
• Yuki Oike - Passion
• KEMMEI - Like a Bird (which reminds me of GT4's Arcade Mode music)
• Daiki Kasho - 5OUL ON D!SPLAY
• (all or most songs from Satoshi Bandoh and Yudai Satoh)

Recently, I've gotten into just playing music from my personal collection of songs for races. So I can't really say I listen to most of these songs while racing.

Gimme Noisia - Yellow Brick (the song that plays in the Top Gear special events intro) any day!

Absolutely a great driving song!

Now for GT intro's:

My Favourite Game from GT2 is a classic anyone knows and it fitted the game like a glove!

Noisia - Stigma, the intro for GT: PSP was one hell of a track with one of the most Tarantino-esque intro's ever!

GT4's intro with Moon Over The Castle was just epic,

but all in all I like GT2's intro the most of all, really! That song became world famous because of GT2, and viceversa, so what's not to like?

I really don't like the musics in the game. There is currently only 7 or 8 tracks what are playing in races. But still I really like Daiki Kasho's "5OUL ON D!SPLAY".

I'm with you there all the way!

I always thought that the music in the menus was elevator music or boring jazz music that you listen to in real life car dealerships espically luxury car dealers,:grumpy:, but my parents think otherwise about it, espically my mom she say it much more calm than what I listen to:eek:(rap, metal, alternative, techno & electro when it comes to cars and music :) not elvator/jazz :banghead:). I follow The Fast and The Furious & Need For Speed(from NFS II to Carbon) theroy.

Techno/Electro: Tuners, Euro Tuners, Sportbikes, Exotics(older NFS games)

Metal/Alternative: Muscle, Aussie Muscle, Sport Trucks

Rap/Hip Hop: Exotics, Luxury Cars, Luxury SUVs

Or all music with all the cars, which is better.

That's why I have a iPod for :D! But the music on GT5 somehow is growing on me. :scared:

Heh, the dangers of preconceptions. "Exotics" ("foreign"; so, Kia? :p) matched with rap? :boggled:

Anyway, the music is growing on you because it's good. ;)
Try actually listening to music for what it is, not for what you think it pairs up with. It'll open up a whole new avenue of appreciation for you. And I don't mean that in a hipster-y sort of way.

Incidentally, who else has enabled the classical stuff in the menus? I was thrilled to find it in GT4 (slideshow mode), and happy it remains in GT5, too.

You sound like my parents  just kidding, but really your're right. Somehow it sinks in you soon and you can appericate whatever genere your listen to, even if it is not your fancy.

Thanks for the advice.

I’m still really sour about the choice of music for the introduction. I urge everyone to watch the PAL intros of Gran Turismo 1-3... They were brilliant compared to GT5! Despite this, there are still songs on GT5’s playlist which I love:

  • Baby (Breakbot Remix) – Pnau
  • I'm Not Alone (deadmau5 Mix) - Calvin Harris
  • Heads Will Roll (Little Vampire Remix) - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
  • Escape Velocity - The Chemical Brothers
  • Smashing Pumpkins – 1979

I ended up buying the album ‘Further’ after hearing Escape velocity on GT5. 👍

There should be a poll for this thread saying like the music, dislike the music. I'm in the dislike part. I find the music to just be alright. It doesn't pump me up to race amazing nor do the menus give any passion. Someone said elevator music and I'll agree with that, it's just there to give you something to listen to rather than silence. Some songs are ok, but I have already switched it to custom playlist so it doesn't matter what music they use now.

I had to download the soundtrack from an...well...undisclosed source . But I just had to. I adore it. The music selection has always been right in GT, and since GT5:P, it has had an amazing menu music made out of really cool Jazz/Lounge. Also, big 👍 to the Daiki Kasho/Jonathan Underdown duet, I find all of their songs really emotional and thrilling, they all have a deep meaning to me.

Kaz, I have to admit it. Regarding to music YOU NAILED IT.

There are those who complain of "elevator music" in GT5. Well heck, I'm not at all offended hearing such songs. I'm someone used to smooth jazz (and some traditional jazz). I don't have any classical songs in my GT5 playlist, but I do think the "Classical" songs in GT4 were great to listen to when doing vintage racing. I'd prefer listening to some lovely classical music racing a Jaguar XKE or a Toyota 2000GT rather than hear some trashy rock song. Maybe if doing muscle car racing, I wouldn't mind some blues or some old rock music (how about muscle car racing listening to Jimi Hendrix or Van Halen?).

You do have to admit- the Lounge and Jazz music are among the best ever featured in a GT title. I've enjoyed this stuff on YouTube even before eventually getting GT5.

Im not even into jazz and i love the menu music in general. The music is really calming, i went to sleep once when i was sitting in the menu.
