Oh forgot to add this thread

Just wanted to say that gt5 online unites all the countries

The people have been unbelievable and majority are friendly apart from the odd kick out

Playing with people from around the world really sets this game apart

Makes me feel like I am part of them

It is like being part of a big family happy

Just had a race with someone from Oman and he was super friendly

Hmm funny.... whenever i join a foreign online room and win i hear loud foreign languaged shouting, my PSN name, and a box comes up on the screen saying "You were kicked out".

Having said that, there are a good majority that you can chat and get along with, but i stick to national rooms so i dont get kicked :P

Especially those damn, Spanish, Portugees and French are a pain in the butt. Every single one of them.

Yup, i've a good race with 2 Singaporean and an American.
We become buddy after that. lol.

On my case French, i just watch the race but then they kick me.
I didn't do anything wrong. That's surprise me. My first time to be kicked. :odd:

Funny you say that, the spanish always kick me out whenever i win, the french kick me out if i win too much but they're half ok, and the portugese kick me out before the race has even finished!

Its not just my idea then .....

I've actually met some really nice people from the U.K. and Italy. I usually never have a problem with those countries. Germans on the other hand were/are 🤬 to me.

I agree, most of my friends list is made up of foreigners ! Dutch, German, Belgian, Portuguese, American, Greek, Spanish, French, Australian and Lebanese! I never judge people's driving based on nationality, as long as they have courtesy and respect they are fine by me.

Ah ... funny title. I'm portuguese and the countries I have found to be more xenophobe are the spanish, the dutch and the german.

On the other hand I'm usually NOT kicked out by UK, american and french - hosted lobbies.

Go figure. I think overall this kind of behaviour is a shame. I never kicked anyone, not even in "retaliation" as I hear some say they do (for what? would I change my behaviour because of sad, stupid, litle people? Then we would all become saad, stupid, litle people also ...)

I heard if you're German and go into a French room, they all immediately give you control of the room.

Kinda reminds me of something. lol. 💡

Yep, then the UK guys, together with the australian, step in ... when the race is about to finish, the american arrive also :D

Yeah we are usually late to the race.:dopey: Sorry.

By far the worst online experience with other nationalities hosting has to be either the French or Germans.

I have absolutely the worst time ever when the French or the Germans are hosting, simply booting people because they have the UK Flag next to their name is quite frankly immature, Also being kicked because you drove better than the host, Including Hosts who kick a player just to give a buddy a chance to take the credits and XP is also childish, Granted it's a nice thing to do for a friend, But to rob someone of their winnings is downright dirty foul play.

When I host, I kick no-one ( except for people who ram others on purpose ).

I welcome all nationalities to my lobbies and love to have a nice fair race online on GT5, I've actually had some very VERY close races with Japanese and American players in one make races on the Nurburgring Nordschleife and only the Brave drivers will win on that stage, I also force all the Aids off so that it is just Driver & Machine working as one.

Recently I just avoid rooms that have Spanish/German/French hosts as I find them to be the most troublesome.

Guys, you’ll find friendly and unfriendly people all over the world.
I'm from Brazil and many times got kicked from US rooms but that doesn't mean the Americans are a pain in the butt. (Personally I don’t think they are).
What I noticed is that people tend to play with folks from the same region (same language) and when there’s a foreign guy in the room normally he is kicked out.
Important to point out the sports rivalry between some countries. (like Brazil and Argentina in soccer).
Every time an Argentinean guy enters a Brazilian room a “fight” starts.
Unfortunately this will happen all over the world.

tbh, they only entered the german-Uk-formerly french owned lobby because the japanese started playing TDU2 and took over Oahu :D

All in good spirits though :) , and going back to the OP, I must say that online gaming brought me friends from all over the world. Regarding Gran Turismo, that was more due to gtplanet than to the game itself.

When people speak of the democratizing force of the Internet I wonder if they are thinking of online games like GT5?

Kicking people because of their flag is completely racist and ******.

I'm American and I hope Americans aren't doing this. It would embarrass me. We want to race and racing is an international sport.

As far as i'm racing online.
They haven't kicked me for unknwon reason. Or for some reason.

P/S:I didn't ram or etc.

America is made up of all parts of the world. Loads of people here are from different countries. Some of America's cities, like New York City, were constructed thanks to foreigners. Especially living in NYC, you see all sorts of races, so I embrace them all. Same goes for GT5.

I'm not American myself, but very Americanized.

I really find it disgusting when people kick you out because you just won... the same for people that leaves out because they are last.

I'm using an US PSN account because PSN is still inexistent in Brazil, but my name is typically latin so its easy to spot...

But I always find some great experiences with americans, canadians and specially UK and Japan.

I was never kicked, nor kicked anyone from one Lounge due to My Nationality.
I've met plenty of fine, fair and fast drivers from all over the world.👍
I've raced..at least for some mins until leave, with idiots from many Countries idiocy is not Flag related it's,unfortunately common and Universal-I'd would go as far as saying that if there were Aliens some of them at least would be Idiots.:sly:

Hmmm, this reinforces my belief that there should be an option to set an age restriction for your lounge (I know - there are some courteous youngsters out there...).

:ouch:

;)

Yes, but they would be really fast idiots! :)

Um, I've seen hosts kick people from different countries only because that one person has the most lag and is affecting everyone's experience negatively. Before jumping to conclusions, I would think that might be the reason first. Just saying.. of course it might be something more sinister.

I'm a clean racer, and I get kicked regularly because i have a UK flag next to my name. Especially by germans.. :l When i host a room I literally welcome all nationalities, who cares where someone's from if they drive well. Obviously if someone's ramming i'll kick but to kick someone because of where they're from? Nah mate. Also, Age restrictions on the room i don't agree with, I've been playing GT since the first one. And i'm only 18 now. I don't think age matters, just maturity. I've met 20 year olds that are completely childish. I do tend to look for UK rooms though, I'm sick of being kicked after races.

I usually meet really nice people, apart from a bunch of Americans, who mistook my flag (Indian flag in-game) for an Iranian flag, then proceeded to call me a foreign terrorist. Really glad I won all the races against them

Still, the majority of Americans I've met are quite nice 👍

Then there's Japanese rooms. The guys there are usually extremely nice, but it's a bit confusing, and understanding what's going on is very difficult :boggled:
