Haha! I've been in a few lobbies where everyone's been jumping around o_O hasn't happened since the recent updates though. Yet.

That's really horrible, just pathetic. But I suspect that's not just lag alone, probably some crappy driving as well. Makes me appreciate the clean rooms where everyone has quality internet connections. :)

If someone is lagging or glitching, they will not see the lagging themselves because their own PS3 system is working fine and therefore displaying their own car's image on the track just fine. It's the other people in the room that will see the glitchy car darting wildly all over the place. Myself, I have asked around in the online rooms many times if I'm glitching and the feedback is that my cars are steady and solid, even though my internet connection is not blazing speed (I forget exactly, something like 2.8kbps download and 850kbps upload), those with broadband or high-speed say it's not good but it works fine for me, it gives glitch-free online racing action and my internet pages load pretty quickly. I just wonder how much of my bandwidth is consumed by my mic when i'm chatting online during races...

This video is now on my "Funnies" playlist in youtube. Loved it, hilarious. Would love to see more like this! I'm sure it is frustrating as h - e - double hockey sticks, but awesome to watch later!

Virtually nothing, microphones were fine on dial-up connections years ago. Generally, most games use less than 50mb an hour in bandwith, which is lower than 14kb/s. Talking on the microphone will use less than 11kb/s, it's only a very low and basic sound quality/bitrate, and the frequency range is strangled too.

Say you were gaming with a number of people and chatting along:

Gaming (14kb/s) + talking (11kb/s) = 25kb/s
25kb/s X 60 seconds = 1.5mb per minute
1.5mb X 60 mintues = 90mb per hour
90mb X 6 hours = 540mb per day
540mb X 7 days = 3.78Gb per week or
540mb X 30days = 16.2Gb per month

That's with some pretty heavy gaming hours/sessions. There's nothing to worry about. This is based off the general consesus that most games use an average of 40mb per hour without microhpones, so I was being generous by calculating it up to 50mb an hour.
