GT5:P just wont update. HELP

Hey everybody,

i finally got my ps3 and gt5:p and was racing now the past few days until i finally managed to set up my internet connection with my ps3.

I have already downloaded the PS3 updates, 2 demos and so on, and since yesterday i'm trying to download the GT5:P update.

I pop in the disc, game starts and asks me if i wanna update and i accept.

Then the screen pops up " Preparing download...
Please do not switch of... etc...
while the HDD access indicator...etc"

I left that the ps3 on for about 2 hours but not once was my HDD flashing and nothing happened with the download.

Am i doing anything wrong? What do i need to set up?

thanks guys, well i guess there is nothing wrong with my ps3, my internet or me LOL

4 times failing to download is nothing compared to that guy updating it after 30 times hmm...
i'll keep trying. Thanks!
 
Christhedude, were you able to download the update eventually?

i am having the same problem.

PS3 system update is done (v 2.3) and the PS3 is directly connected to the internet (ie wired with no firewalls or routers). Internet connection is fine, i am able to play other games online and browse the internet.

when i first start the game i get a message about the update, after i click yes (for updating now), i get the "preparing download" window with the progress bar at 0% but it never starts the download. it stays on the preparing download screen forever. It doesn't gives any error messages at all but never starts the download. i left it running on this screen overnight a couple of times with no luck.
