I dunno about pop-up, but I do know about pop-out!

The Nurburgring 24hr change time/change weather track has a couple of nasty pop-out - were the track dissappears - the most obvious, is after the first chicane, just as you are heading to the sharp-left hander. 👍
i remember seeing that in the demo videos, but it hasnt happened to me yet

Man the PS3 is the stupidest piece of hardware I have ever owned. I bought it when it launched for like 600$ and change, which sony sold for at a loss. They spent a gazillion dollar developing a pretty much useless chip (unless you want to cure cancer or launch missiles) and then skimped on the RAM. Who does this??? Glad they are last place this generation, maybe they will rethink their arrogance and get back to the PS1-2 glory days.

Both PS3 and Xbox 360 are some very powerful and capable consoles. I would say they have roughly the same capabilities. PS3 was more expensive due to the blu-ray (and Sony's arrogance) but now it has a much more competitive price.

There are many games that look great in PS3. Uncharted and Killzone for example prove that the console is a graphic powerhouse. Also there are many racing games (arcade and sim) that look equally good in both PS3 and Xbox 360 like F1 2010, NFS Shift, NFS HP, Grid, Dirt.

The fact fact that GT5 has pop-up, awful shadows, awful weather effects is not the fault of Sony or PS3. It's purely the fault of PD which didn't bother to optimize the graphic engine. 👎

Circuit De La Sarthe can be renamed Circuit De La Pop Up if one desires to.

👍 jaja.

Yeah, there's a lot of pop-up and pop-off :P. Eiger, Tokio, Cape Ring, Susuka and some parts of Nurburing are the worst. In Eiger is even distracting because there are complete mountains dissapearing after you pass them. I always feel like the "movement" is another car and I keep looking the rear mirror with no reason. Hope they patch it.

I think the other term for pop-up is "close draw-in". On Indy, I've noticed a lot of the details in the pits (such as tents) don't draw-in till you're pretty much right by them.
