GT5:Prologue DRIFT KING video

Everyone on this thread told me i was good...so that means they went to look at the videos, that means i got what i wanted, im tryin to give a little back and help you guys become better drifters but you guys dont realize it, yes I have this attitude, I have alot of self confidence, but you need it to be good at anything, and I also have knowledge and experience and I share it with people but you either listen to what i have to say and try to make the most out of it or you stay in that state of ignorance, when i say someone is a noob i dont mean to say something bad it just means hes not a pro, a noob simply needs more practice, the right tools, a little advice and thats it... I know that every information I provide about drifting is true or at least 95% because I have litterally watched millions of videos, played millions of hours in simulation games with controllers and wheels, Online battle, touge races, drift battles in Forza Motorsport on Xbox Live years ago, I drifted in GT2 years ago with a wheel, and I have practiced in real life all winter drifting in the snow in my 740 volvo, I have watched many JDM option dvds, many drift events in real life and on video, and if you say it dosent count its because you didnt know that Sam Hubinette one of the best drifters off all time was from sweden and he first started drifting on snow with Volvos...


why did i do all that because im really passionate about drifting and its the only way your gonna get better at it

people who use controller or that use wheels that are not 900 degrees, if you just dont have the money to buy 1 then i feel sry for you guys...if thats not the case your a noob to me, your not on the same level as every 900 degree wheel users, buy a 900 degree wheel and become a pro or accept your noobness

Some controller users are faster than some wheel users its not impossible...

Ive got some cash for a wheel but I think I should use the money for a good use... Why bother getting something that only makes you slightly better?

I can understand what you mean, you dont have the money, at least you have a DFGT on your shopping list man thats why i said, if you just dont have the money to buy 1 then i feel sry for you guys, and yes some people are faster with a controller on races. But the real reason you wanna get a 900 degree wheel is to get a more realistic driving feeling and getting even closer to the real driving simulator, and also to make amazingly lookin replays, and makin smooth adjustments while your drifting to your front wheels soo it looks smooth just like in real life, I use GT5 to actually get some practice for when i go out drifting in real life and it really works.

I do agree with martin on a point, everyone that drifts with a controller are kind of lame, i mean its a driving simulator, if your gonna spend 450 for the ps3 and gt5p you might aswell throw in another 200 for a g25 or DFGT but that's just my opinion.

I know i have this attitude some like it some dont because they take it too serious, im just straight forward and I know im good, im just very competitive and Im soo tired of seeing only people who use controllers on the top of the leaderboards both in drift and race. I really think they should make 2 different leaderboards because its really not fair or intelligent to compare the 2, I just think people who use 900 degree wheels are on a higher level...

huh you obviously don't know much about drifting because when they twin drift the chaser definitely move their wheel erratically so they can go side by side at the same speed.... you definitely don't have any experience in twin drifting so go online and practice with goracle and others so you will learn more about the art of drifting.

you need to look at the outside view, look at the front wheels, are they moving smoothly? do you see the front wheels move back to the straight position more then once in the middle of the drift? i didnt, he did some minor adjustments bringing the wheel back almost straight 1 time at the apex but thats it, the front wheels are moving smoothly...and btw i have alot of experience with twin drifting, i know how to match the angle of the other car but you do that with the accel and brake not with the steering that much and you dont have to move erradicaly or whatever, you can just keep it steady and drift like normal just try to take the same line as the person your following and be sure to let him some space when he does the weight transfer before a turn, of course your gonna throw the wheel around but there are no such technique as where you just throw it from full counter to the middle and back more than once in the middle of a drift, that would be a mistake if the run was judged and points would be lost, front wheels need to be moving smoothly as much as possible if you can keep the wheel steady for more then 3 or 4 seconds in a drift and give just the right amount of accel thats like a perfect drift, can you drift holding your wheel steady at the same position?

btw ...I was wondering where are your videos? and is your wheel 900 degree of rotation????

i guess you are right, im good at drifting, but im poor at life, btw i got my 900 degree driving force pro off ebay for like 60$ including shipping

the thing that bothers me the most is people that actually bought a 900 degree steering wheel, but they actually thought it was too hard, and they didnt even take time to practice and get use to it and give it a real try, and they just use a controller cause its easier, then they go on in arcade mode and try to make the most points but it ends out they make more points but the drift isnt even nice to look at, then i go on my ps3 and its always their replays that plays in the background when im afk but its soo ugly to watch, there are some top drifters like SKYPILOT33 who can still get first with some cars but i never seen his replays pop up, i think gran turismo should fix that, and put quality replay material instead, that the reason im a little mad about the controllers, its this guy Stepmania, i cant believe hes always first but his replays are kinda bad, i wish he would do the same run using 900degree wheel, he would be my idol

thanks for the comment, the drifting on youtube isnt my best drifting so i know why you say there is nothing special, i think at a certain point, all drifters who have great skills can be the best drifter, it only depends if they have a good day or bad day...and also what track. The reason I tagged drift king is because i thought i would get more views that way, its just strategy...

i was hoping to get more views and comment by making this thread active with some kind of discussion going on even if that meant i was gonna be hated by some, im just trying to make some people realize some things, let me tell you the only reason im playing gt5 and taking it soo seriously is because i want to practice as much as i can on it soo that when i drift in real life i can take what ive learned and apply it, thats why i choosed not too use the ebrake button because its not close enough to reality, thats why i choose no steering assist in option menu, thats why i tell everyone to use 900 degree wheel and not a controller...i would use a setup such has 2 g25 shifter, 1 for the ebrake but thats way too expensive. yes i speak french

I am one who does love it for the 900* steering and driving simulator feel because i'm a true auto-enthusiast, but not everyone is. There's not need to hate or rag on people who aren't trying to be mr. "Drift King". You talk about ignorance etc, but i think it's you being a little ignorant, be a little more open minded.

The 900 degree wheel is definately good practice for the "CONCEPT" of drifting in real life, but when you can you definately gotta hit the road in your real car. Snow drifting is good, and so is the rain, but dry ground drifting is the true test. Get yourself a welded/clutch type differential and get out there. Confidence is good, definately makes you better, but boasting and bragging gets you no respect, which what sounds like you really want. Drift on. 👍

lmao, i make every attempt to get my truck sideways with a suspension that is 14+ years old.... on 205/70(or 75)/R14's and you claim that you have BAD suspension roll??? truthfully i got balls to take my 1994 toyota pickup dlx extra cab witha 116hp 4cylinder engine and a 4 spd auto and drive at 60+mph in a neighborhood.



that is fast, truthfully, i did get my truck sideways, i have no ebrake power either. I play GT on a 6axis. thats right a 6axis. i dont drift on the DFP because i dont practice and prefer to spend my time in RL driving.

now the only time i would drop by on GT5p is to enjoy Polyphony Digital's great work on this upcoming GT5 simulator. when that comes out, i would mostlikely sold my DFP to get a nice car to drift with in real life. untill then, i wont be drifting on a steering wheel.

What am I trying to prove? I take GT to heart but the steering wheel doesn't prevent me from enjoying GT5p at its fullest. I have better things in life and when i have leisure time, i have fun with everyone drifting. I admit i suck at drifting on this game, but there is no reason to call yourself Drift King and call out others and call them pussies and ****. and to your opinion of what real GT gamers are and who aren't and you are sending me out to play Grid or something? I seriously recommend for you to take a step back and think about how you view your lil world.

dubvipers, ok your suspension is old but maybe its more stiff since its a truck and its for carrying loads, if you want stiffer and lowered just put weight in the back , its cool that you try but dont come saying you can do super nice drift with that setup, even the best driver would have troubles...comparing buying a car to buying a 60$ wheel is not very good... and btw what are you gonna do when you crash your drift car, better practice on the 900 degree wheel if you dont wanna end up spending more then what the car cost ya, all drifters crash its a fact, the question is when, do all you can to prevent it...btw sliding at 60mph with an old truck car cause you to rollover soo watch out for that

Lowered by adding weight? you heard of adding weight equals killing performance. i weigh 125lb and i know that running with a 50lb backpack is like adding bricks to my truck's bed.


my toyota pickup is a a 2wd truck, it's either understeer or drift. if it were to rollover, it'd end up understeering and i just learn what i did wrong.

btw, i know my truck's limits.

I know alot about drifting because i studied it, as me any question you want about drifting if you doubt, but at least come with the proper knowledge, im not talking about parts or brands or cars im talking about drifting techniques and street racing in japan and the origins of drift worldwide, the best drivers etc, i exagerate i dont know every single driver but for someone who isnt japanese and lives in canada i know alot about japanese cars and drifting in general, its not like i was just a big gamer and i also practice in the snow with my 740 volvo, and again if you say thats **** thats because you dont know thats how sam hubinette started drifting, guitar hero has nothing to do with this. I know that pick ups are very light in the back, i dont know what kind yours is exactly but putting some weight far back can help with the sliding, just look how rear engine porsche are easy to slide, it not just power its weight distribution, putting some weight will also lower the ride height a bit and compress the suspension, it might actually help for sliding, the weight is really more crucial in the snow to get a little more traction
