Hello and welcome to the GT5 Online Cruising thread.

This idea was originally by Bakugekiki to cruise around a road track in road cars with Sports Softs as the Tyre limit, and I thought we could expand on it by making an actual event. The event would be at 16:30 (GMT+1) on a Friday, we will make a final date when more people join.

The event would start by us all cruising around a few road tracks that I will design specially for this event, full of long straights and tight sectors. Drivers would drive calmly around the track, only flooring it when it is safe to. Drivers should stay at about 60 Mph around the track, but on the long straights you are allowed to overtake others and put your foot down as long as you brake early for the next corner.
After the cruise, we could do a few fun drag races and stuff.

This should be a fun event and also quite a unique event. So what are you waiting for? Pick a couple of your favourite cars, weather one is a Ferrari or a Mini. All are welcome!

I really want to join this sort of stuff. Just cruising along with a lot of cars, in my old Lantis in pearl blue, at low speeds, while watching a Tuscan sunset. If people bring reasonably powered road cars it will be seriously cool. Count me in if you're restarting this. My PSN is under my avatar and location ;)

I guess that would be about 9pm or 7pm for you. Not sure which wa BST is to GMT

Quite close to dinner time for me (GMT+1), and some fridays evening I've to work.

I hope this is still going on in a month or so's time. Sounds like fun expect for the you have to brake early for corners part.

I think you should make it so you can drive however you want, but with the same stakes real life has in your mind.
I.e pretend its your car any damages are real your life is in danger etc. But if people take corners hard and brake late in real life on public road cruises I don't see why you should be enforcing any hard driving style rules.

Just say real stakes, and pretend its some country road cruise or something. You stick together at close to the speed limit for the most part but sometimes people give it a squirt around bits.

I wish GT5 had REAL full damage, i.e you even scrape someones car and its a huge gash and dent in the paint and body.

To be honest, the 70mph limit would probably be enough for the tracks I have designed, but ofcourse Im not kicking anyone for giving it the beans on little straights, as long as they don't crash.

So, would you be up for it next friday?
 
2pm is going to be impossible for me. That's right in the middle of the day and i'm at work. If others are available at that time I guess I'll just miss it, but evenings would suit me better.

No I am completely off line from all games in every sense of the word at the moment. Haven't booted up or played my ps3 in like 6 months.

Probably wont be for another month or so. And then It will take some time to get a good set up going and come to grips with whats happened since 1.05 or whatever.

But I love the idea. I wish Gt5 had a cruise mode in city like tracks with all paths tracks and parking lots completely open to roam in.

Btw I recommend setting up the cruises to allign with Saturday morning to Saturday night for the varying time zones. I think it has the highest availability for everyone.

You either get up early or don't go out on a sat lol.
