I used to play f1 2010 alot but when gt5 came out i havn't play in till today, and when i started playing i found the graphics were so bad I couldn't play it and swichted it off straigh a way but yet I can still get on with playing rfactor and iracing.
I it just me or are you having the same problem?

At the moment yes but I will see what need for speed shift 2 is like before I saw it ruins all racing games.

F1 2010 is a great racer, one of the best out there , the Graphics in GT5 are good yes of course they but to say they have highlighted just how bad the Graphics are in F1 2010 to the point that you can no longer play it is simply ridiculous IMHO

the graphics in that game are very good , the dynamic weather is by far leaps and bounds a head of GT5 as is the damage and as a racer it runs rings around GT5

As for shift 2 from the video coverage I have seen to date I think it might just take to driving/racing gen to a complete new level, guess we have to just wait and see.

That's always been the beauty of the Gran Turismo series and it's why, despite all its flaws, I'm satisfied with this game. At the end of the day, nothing comes close in terms of realism of the driving experience and that is why we play, isn't it? Everything else seems like a half assed arcade racing game by comparison. Just as an example, I have gotten endless enjoyment out of racing one car (M3 CSL) on one track (Nordschiefe) and I don't see myself getting bored out it anytime soon because, with the G27 wheel, it's that good. I've literally done that race several dozen times a week at least for the past 2 + months. That's why we play, nothing else comes close.

I remember my good friend from middle school bought Gran Turismo 1 the day it came out and left his PS1 on for like 2 weeks before he could buy a memory card. And that's like a metaphor for the series. I think we've all been sort of approaching Gran Turismo that voraciously ever since...

F1 2010 isn't that bad, at least I don't think. Just look at the weather effects in it. Not only that, but at least it has Spa...and I think Monza and Monte Carlo look a little better actually. Neither game is that bad as far as graphics go, but I'll take F1 over GT5 any day for difficulty of racing. Plus there's no penalty system really in GT5, whereas in F1 2010, you can't even sneeze in your car without getting one. Personally, I like them both...plus...when you really think about it...isn't it just another apples/oranges situation anyway?

F1 2010's graphics aren't bad at all... GT5 only drives me away from racing games with horrible and arcadey physics.

Gt5 is the best racing game on any system, nothing comes close, however the graphics on dirt 2 are much better than gt5 by a long way.

F1 2010 is a great fun game, especially the multiplayer which I think is much better organised than GT5... graphics are not bad and from time to time, I play on F1 2010 just for multiplayer as the career is too lenghty... Although compared to GT5 I haven't played it as much since GT5 came out....

So so wrong IMHO Gt5 isn`t even a "racing game" not by a long way its a driving game.

I got bored of F1 very easily, GT5 on the other hand has been played everyday since launch (and I mean everyday) and i'm planning to keep on playing it and i'm getting a wheel to help further my enjoyment of it.

NFS Shift didn't really do anything for me so i'm don't know what to expect from NFS S2

When I drive too much on GT5, I lose my touch when going back to play Top Gear.

Awesome music. We need those tunes on GT5

lol funny, Top Gear SNES is all over GT5. Those life like graphics are simply jaw dropping.

Seriously, GT5 IMHO wins hands down, due to the physics. Its simply amazing. The graphics might be comparable, I can't remember what F1 graphics were like. But which ever way I look at it Im having way more fun with GT5 than any other racer on the PS3 and I wont be putting it down any time soon. We'll see what Shift 2 has to offer, another game that looks promise..... but... you know how that usually ends.

err...... I race my cars on gt5 along with everybody else playing the game, what version have you got mate? Gt5 (popping out for some grocerys edition) ?

I went and bought GT4 yesterday ... OMG the graphics are horrendous (maily because there stretched on a HD tv) and what even worse is that ive went and bought GT3 again ... i dare not go back to GT1 because it will eventually be a pixelated blob :sly:

ok......

I only play GT5 so far start from the day it launch. Maybe now is about time for other game, will see.

mt gt5 disc had only popped out once since December, and that was to put in GT5P, I was checking something out, and was amazed as how quickly everything loaded on GT5P.

F12010 is enjoyable but nothing memorable, the overrevs were driving me crazy. I stop playing it after that disappointing 1.01 patch that fixed nothing.

I never bought F1 2010, since I knew GT5 was on the way. There's no car variation, either, which put me off.

It's not like I need 1000 cars either - NFS Drift is an awesome game and I'll get the next version no problem.

As for GT5 killing other race games, I still play Dirt2 all the time, especially since it's on my pc and it gives me something to do when I'm grinding b spec. I have been told that the graphics & gameplay are just as good on the console versions.

I still play Grid and Dirt 2

1.- The day GT5 gets even close to F1 2010's weather effects, I'll agree with you.

2.- On the driving matter, yes GT5 physics are unrivaled by any other game/system.

3.- On the racing matter, GT5 is just lost with the pathetic AI, but I love the game and play it for the second point though.

Haven't noticed the 12 or so other cars trying to beat you to a finish line? I believe that's racing....

It doesn't have to look like that (streched out on HDTV). In the option menu, click on display and choose the right aspect ratio which is 16:9 for all HDTV (you're probably currently running it at the SD 4:3 ratio)

If you're running out of your PS2 and you have connected to the TV with the composite cable (the one with Green/Blue/Red video connectors plus the R/L audio cable) you can also use the 480p or 1080i options and depending on your preference and screen, might look better than the current setup.

That's my point no I havn`t, all I see is 12 others cars driving leisurely around a race track

Dont get me wrong I really like GT but it is not a "RACING" game.

@f12010: when i first got the game (pc not ps3) i only had the 360 pad. i enjoyed the game very much. the graphics are great, weather is realistic and the ai is good.

then i got gt5 and my g27 + rig. i played about 100 hours or so and thought i should try f12010 again. imo there´s no feedback of oversteering, and therefore it´s hard to keep the car straight and drive fast. it´s like "oohh, don´t push the gas too early or you´ll turn the car again". in gt5 you feel how the weight of the car moves and what it´s doing. but in f12010 i don´t feel anything, the car just turns.. it´s frustrating cause i really liked f1 but cannot play it again because of this..

so imo gt5 ruins at least this one game in particular :)

This is exatly what i'm talking about, alot of other people on this thread dont quite get it

Then why didn't you say that instead of "the graphics were so bad I had to turn it off"?

When people say GT isn't a racing game they mean there is no qualifying, no flags, no penalties. As you pointed out, there is obviously racing in GT, but it's not a racing sim, it's a driving sim and a racing game.

After driving the FGT and the F2007 alot, I'm interested in getting F1 2010. I've looked at some youtube videos of that game and it looks good. I can probably pick it up cheap.

It's still at or near the release price sadly. I just picked it up a few weeks ago though and it's quite good. I'd recommend it.

I bought it right after driving the F2007 as well. 👍

and it doesn´t bother you that there´s no feedback from what the car is doing? or IF you managed it to somehow unlock this feedback, please tell me :)
