I have it!! Picked up my copy from Game earlier! Just watching the intro now... Thank god! I've been waiting a long time for this!! :)

Have downloaded the chromeline ones based on the voucher codes.... but does anyone know how to get the stealths?

There are two little booklets with redeem codes, one for chrome, one for stealth.

Mine was perfect, outside and inside.

Atleast u guys got cars with your CE.... Us is Aus got 5 postcard.... seriously wtf. Payed $50 extra for a 'magazine' and post cards. what a joke

anyone know the link to contact sony about this?

My sls car box thing was damaged but don't know if I caused it form the excitement :P

My CE edition I picked up from EB Games was damaged as well. The box was dropped, as the corner of the box was all creased in. The glue on the inside cover of the box didn't hold, and the cover flap came open. The box the GT-R came in was dented as well. The plastic case the car came in was fine, but I was still a bit annoyed.

My SE ist in perfect shape, but one thing really sucks:

The Moneybag.

WTF was the one thinking by designing these? Where is the pocket for coins?
Oh i forgot - Im Japan there are no coins because of inflation....

Seriously. I was exited looking forward to replace my worn out old pocket that is almost done. And now that.

My SE was severely dented in one edge. The outer box was OK but the white inner box showed where the damage was. I read the books, used the codes, took it back for a refund, and bought a standard copy.

Outside the package looked just fine, but when I opened it, the box was torn where the Apex book goes in, there were scratches and scuff marks on the GT-R case. The rest of the box just looks kinda... rough.

I wouldn't mind except I paid the extra for CE because I wanted the book, and was planning to sell the GTR & keychain to recoup some of the expense.

The book, btw, you need a microscope to read.

My CE box had a wide long GNASH right on the entire side of the box thanks so the Gamestop bozos taking a razor knife and slashing the cart open, and damaging my box that just happened to be right on top. :/
The contents inside are fine though.

At least it's not as serious as the Halo 3 Legendary edition fiasco. A serious number of people were receiving theirs with the discs scratched all to hell.

I am going to be ordering mine soon, I hope they all don't come out like this!

I picked my Signature Edition up at midnight launch from Game. Everything perfect and as it should be - or at least I thought it was....

I've redeemed my Chromeline / Stealth codes without a hitch but I never received any code for the SLS competition, a fact I've only just realised from reading this thread.

Should I speak to Game or Sony about this? Bit worried I can't prove I don't have the code if you see what I mean?

Check inside your wallet for the code. There should be a card in the 'clear window' section of ur wallet, and there should be a scratch panel to reveal the code on the back of that card.

Pickedup my Signature Edition. Very weighty and quite a nice presentation. AUD$300 worth though? Hmmmm, I doubt it.

I got it home and there was a dent in the lid.

The guys I bought it off - GAME in Australia - said that Sony had advised them that some Signature Editions had been damaged in transit and if there were any hassles to contact Sony directly.

I rang Sony Australia and told them of both the dent on the tin lid and of GAME's advice. The guy from Sony sounded very surprised and he knew nothing of Sony announcing to any retailers that Signature Edition tins were damaged or that customers should ring Sony for a replacement. He suggested that it should be returned to the place of purchase for exchange.

When the guys at GAME told me of damaged tins when I went and bought mine, I suggested I open mine on the spot to check, stating that if mine was damaged I exchange it with another they had out the back. They said "no" and that all the stocks of the Signature Edition they had were preorders. Needless to sya, when I got home and found the dent across the lid I was less than impressed, then when the Sony guy told me I should have exchanged at place of purchase, I was even less impressed.

The Sony guy took my details down and gave me a reference number, assuring me that a supervisor would call me this coming week to sort it out. We'll see how that goes. If I get no joy from Sony, I'm going back to GAME. It would be the second time they've given me dud information about GT5 in the past month. I just want a replacement tin lid, not a completely new set.

I have used my Chrome Line coupon and Stealth car coupon and they worked fine. I had no idea where the SLS entry coupon was until I read the post by yoshii (above). There is indeed a card with a scratch panel on it, but you wouldn't know it was the SLS competition card because there is nothing on it advertising it as such.

When does the SLS competition open and what does it entail? I have absolutely no idea!

Yeah i have a damaged lid too, called up EB just before my lunch break to see if they had any other copies i could swap it for but they all claimed to be sold out (in hindsight i should've gone back straight away after i opened it).
Either way i emailed Sony Australia last night, so i'll see what their response is. Hopefully i can get a replacement considering the cost of it and the fact there are several instances of people with the same issue.

As for the SLS comp, i heard it wont be starting until Dec and it'll be a GT Academy style comp (skill rather than luck)...unfortunately though, i'd have a better chance if it was more so the latter :p

Me too. If it was chance, then I'd have a greater shot at winning the damn thing! :dopey:

Hi all, 1st post here.

I purchased the signature edition through gamestation in the UK. when purchasing it, they tried to palm me off with a SE with a really tatty looking outer black blox which i askrd them to excahnge for a better looking one. I too have a few small dents on the lid of the case, nothing too major though. I also had some damage to the cardboard box of the SLS AMG model by the holographic sticker. It was as if the box was just rammed into its hole without any care and attention.

anyhow, the game is fantastic.

Sorry to hear about your troubles mate!

Like I said when I started this thread, GAME (who I bought mine from) offered to exchange the entire SE because of the damage.

Having bought mine online, they are refunding me with the money I paid to post it back to them on a next-day service. The day after I sent it back, I called them and suggested going to my local GAME store to collect the replacement instead, so the girl at GAME customer services checked stock and then I went into store to pick it up.

The guys in the store also allowed me to open the box and check all the contents (even with a massive Christmas queue of customers) before completing the sale.

I'm sorted, but I know how annoying this is after waiting so long!

Unless the consumer law in Aus is any different to here in the UK, then it should be the responsibility of the retailer (GAME) to exchange goods which where damaged at time of purchase.

Good luck mate!

i will also call sony and hope i can get a new lid sent(before all are gone)

Thanks turbo_nutta, I hope it goes okay. I'll let people know what the outcome is (maybe that will have some indication of how others here in Australia will go with theres). I wish our GAME store employees were as good locally where I am as those you've got in the UK. *sigh*

Cheers,

Andrew

Hey, you know what, my CE had a rip on the inside where they put the GTR! I was kind of annoyed at that....I almost wanted to go back to Gamestop and exchange but I wanted to start playing.

If you think thats bad, I went and picked up my CE by hand and didn't even get a key-ring or the GTR!

Did you get 5 little pictures inside your box? Cause I think that the Australian edition gives you 5 pieces of card, trying to make up for a key-ring and an awesome GTR model.

Where should I buy my SE online? Which site offers the best price?

Is the SE region free?

man, you are lucky! My entire tin is damaged. Game refused to change it. Called Sony, they only sent the bloody lid. Called again, sent a lid again. Seriously, are they stupid or what?:yuck:

Game refused to change it.

Sales of Goods Act - your contract is with the seller, not the supplier and the seller has provided defective goods. They have a duty to exchange the item for non-defective goods.

They will try to fob you off to Sony, but Game are obliged under the Act to provide you with what you paid for. Do not take "no" for an answer.
