GT5 seems slower to respond to menu inputs and loading things like replays, tracks and the garage. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yeah a little... it's not really bad but it is noticeable. We'll see if things pick up after I play GT5 some more with the OS update.

Have you tried clearing your network cache? That is pretty much the go-to fix for the problems you said, and I've had it happen to me where doing that fixed it for me.

Hmm... My GT5 is runnig as smooth as always. Try what Toronado suggests.

Me too, I even asked on here because I was so puzzled. Cleared cache, but in the end a router reboot did the trick.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I did clear the cache. It's still a bit slow.

I'm not having any issues online. It just seems to be within the menus, garage and loading races, both A-Spec and Seasonals. Wouldn't hurt to reboot the router tho...

We'll see what the next game update will improve.

How do you clear your cache?

It's either the last or penultimate thing on the options menu; all the way at the bottom.

Thank you!

Mine has been too, but I might just need a cache clearing as well

Do you play GT5 connected to PSN?

I do. I might just try to disconnect from PSN and see if anything changes.

Well, GT5 constantly connects to the servers even if you aren't playing online, so sluggish performance on your end (need to clear your cache, reset your router, etc.) or on their end (servers need maintenance) can lead to the game in general being slow to do anything when it comes to navigating the main menu screen. Just as an FYI.

Good to know. Thanks!

I notice the menu hangs, but it's not since the system update. it started several days before. And as any GT5 launch day buyer can tell you, when servers are kinda overloaded, or someone on PD/Sony's end are doing stuff with the servers, the menus start locking up. The day the game came out, everyone thought the game was completely broken and were spamming PD and Sony to patch the game. It was just the servers being overloaded/being adjusted or whatever. I think they threw up some more servers and everything was fine a day later, no patch needed.

The new lag pretty much started when/around the last segment of GT Academy opened. Which likely shared the same servers as GT5. Between everyone making sure they got all the free DLC from GTA the last week or 2, and now with another traffic jump from new DLC......I'm sure that's all the problem is. Heavy load on the servers.

Remember the AMAZING numbers released for people playing GT5 online yesterday, or the day before? The game is FAR more busy online than just how it seems from the open game lists we see browsing for a room to join. There's probably a couple/few hundred thousand people on GT5's servers as I type this.

Good info! Thanks for that!
