Since it is a jump from 1.14 to 2.0. I think we are gonna see a bunch of new content. But only time will tell. Any additions are welcome, I was excited when gear was added, so even if I see only one new track, I'll be happy.

Amen!

As long as that track is something we know from the GT series, and not any 'new' track before we have the tracks the long term fans have asked for during the years.

PS! And not another track editor track, a.k.a. Eiffel (except a really awesome stunt/jump/loop track).

Grindenwald.
Tahiti Road.
Red Rock Valley.
Pikes Peak Hill Climb.
Seattle.
Mid-Field.
Grand Canyon.
Test Track.

.. and many more.

Also bikes are on top of many fans lists.

There are lot of work to do by PD for the loyal fans yet, before reaching out to the new younger audience.

Heh,

Once upon a time, i wondered what the big deal was about livery. I tried it on motorstorm and after 5 minutes i got bored of it. And i suspect kaz was as well. He probably said to his designers. Listen boys, this stuff aint that important to gameplay. If we have time then may be we will add it. Otherwise leave it in the backburner.

Personally i am hoping he said, 'WTF is this ****? No colouring in my beautiful game'

To be honest I am keeping my expectations for Spec 2.0 and for the DLC measured.

I have an odd but not unfounded feeling that this forum is going to explode with some very disappointed users when more details are released.

I will probably be happy with whatever tweaks or marginal content we get. Just don't expect to see a large number of cars replaced by premium models is what I would say :)

Who said that's what he spent it on? Ever bought a car? Rented a house? Paid for food? The list goes on and on you ignorant fool.
Dude, this is a report-worthy post, I'd cool off - and edit it - if I were you... just a heads up.

Anyhow, as others have remarked - why am I usually fashionably late to the parties around here? - this is going to be something major in many ways. Spec II in Prologue increased the content and features tremendously, and I expect some big changes and additions. I suggest the easily excited and impressionable ignore my wish list. ;)

Spec II
  • Massive increase of A-Spec and B-Spec events.
  • XP system overhaul, perhaps even deleted.
  • Improved bot A.I.
  • Comprehensive stat tracking database, including records for each race.
  • Possible DLC in the update, including a track or two, a number of cars, optional wheels for Standards, and other things.
  • The Paint Shop will now have a range of paints for sale! Imagine that. :D
  • Standards to have a cockpit view (black interior) with basic dashboard.
  • Adjustable driver views.
  • Additional bodykits, including those for a number of Standard cars.
  • Massive increase in Race Mod car list.
  • A basic Livery Editor.
  • Improved damage.
  • Improved physics, most noticeably Rally physics.
  • Improved Dealerships, Used Car lots and tuning options.
  • The classic tuning adjustments from previous Gran Turismo games return, with additional features including tuning saves.
  • Save in pits in any race.
  • Event Generator, both off and online, including prizes.
  • Massive overhaul of the online system with numerous additional features, Race Series Designer and Event Generator, leaderboards, sharing and selling system, and other goodies.
  • Improved Photo Mode.
  • Improved Course Maker.
  • Drag racing and Touge.
  • More more MORE! :dopey:

DLC
  • Tracks from all previous Gran Turismos offered, and will incorporate in single player offline games with included patches.
  • New tracks to include Dubai, Brands Hatch, Spa, Hockenheim and Batthurst, as well as American courses. Tracks will be themed to provide racing in different leagues such as DTM and BTCC.
  • Car packs such as Standard to Premium updates, Ferraris, Lamborghinis and other supercars, race cars, classics. Car packs will be large, 20 or more.
  • DLC will either be free or affordable. I expect some freebies.
Whew... hyping myself a bit much, but... who cares! Whatever it will be will be pure chewing satisfaction. :dopey:

And for a quick edit, I wouldn't expect dozens of tracks and hundreds of cars real soon. Remember, 6 man-months per car, up to 2 man-years per Premium track, so I'd expect the Gran Turismo Standard tracks to be offered in any numbers first, with a new Premium track here and there. And Standards to be converted to Premiums at an apparent snail's pace.

You've never been involved in team or league racing have you?

Or ever watched real world racing apparently...

No, I dont think Kaz is as conceited as your acting.

Hot off Yamauchi's twitter.
GT fans, thanks for waiting… The GT5 Spec 2.0 update is coming the 3rd week of April, with DLC following a week later.

That would have been good news.

That's fantastic news for the 5% of GT5 owners who still play the game, and for the other 95% it's too little too late to care. It's a shame PD doesn't understand that games are normally played for weeks or maybe for months, rather than years. You don't get to wait almost a year from release to start releasing DLC and have any meaningful number of people give a crap. GT doesn't exist in a vacuum, after all.

Some real good ones in here! I particularly like the idea of being able to save in the pits of any race. I think that would work out quite well if implemented and quite possible imo.

Speak for yourself....

I tried to recall my extensive GT5 wishlist, and got almost all of it in. Lord knows if even half of what I suggest will make it in, but I expect a number of them will.

@ IceMan PJN

By your logic, no game maker should even offer DLC, because the fanbase will have migrated after a few weeks to other games. But by the looks of the traffic around here in the GT5 section, a lot of people are still playing GT5, even though it doesn't feature Jeremy Claxon's "heavenly" voice, opinions, and ego. ;)

I say he fits perfectly in a 'show off' kinda game.

A serious racing game and him merged, will make wormholes in time. :sly:

Agreed. As many already said, Im not getting my hopes up for anything. I'll be happy with what we get.

Regarding livery editor, I don't want to see 13 year olds putting fat bootys and breasts on their hoods like in forza. But it would be nice to tastefully modify some cars other than the 17 RMs we have.

I already said GT5 will have Spec II in very long time

👍 Cool story bro.

I agree that okay, some stuff can be a bit tasteless in terms of livery editor, thus a valid reason for the report button, provided PD pay attention to the Reports...

I wish people would quit using this a a reason not to have a livery editor. If I saw that in a room I would either

A. Leave
B. Or call a reject vote like we can now. Problem solved.

So whats the problem?

It would be a lot better then the system now, since there are limited amount of certain cars it would be better to have user created livery's then six Dale Earnhardt cars on the track at the same time. Racing with a full field of a specific type of race car has its limits. That is of course some could be forced to race standards if they had to.

Finally some one's talking sense. This is logical people, pay attention,

Why do people always refer to manga boobs and such when talking about liveries?

There are so many incredible original and replica paintjobs out there that conveniently get ignored in order to support a poor argument in favour of one game.

I'm posting from my phone so my points are limited to my typing skill and patience.

I was also going to say: Most of the time the tacky liverys would not affect me because I only play with randoms for a laugh. Any real racing online is in league or shuffle races for me. Both places I wouldn't have to worry about ugly liveries.

I also never said that I didnt want a livery all together. Just need to avoud the tackiness (if thats even a word?)

I'd like a simple livery editor like GRiD's. A few basic designs to choose from, a racing number and some sponsor decals to place. It wouldn't ruin the "classiness" of GT5 in the slightest because it would look pretty much like the Stealth's and Racing Modified cars do already, just with further personalisation.

I second that. And unlike sponsor decals in SHIFT, Forza and even GT5, in GRID you have to earn the right to use the decals. And once you have them on your car when you do win, you earn money from your sponsor(s). Not only is that a brilliant concept but it's how things work in real life.

One way to get around the limited liveries in GT5 is for PD to use the same system it's doing for helmet/racing suit by creating and constantly adding liveries to the game that players can win or buy with their credits.

My wishlist is only (and in order of importance):

- To be able to add aftermarket wheels to standard cars (couldnt care less on interiors for standard cars).
- The same, if not more, of the wheel selection from GT4.
- Spa Francorchamps Time and Weather change.

This very thing is in my GT5 wishlist from way back in 2005. When I was playing the Forza games, I'd use decals only when I could afford the upgrades from the manufacturer, which meant that my main sponsors were often tire makers. ;)

And guys, enough with the butt cracks. Er... ba-dum-bum. But you know what I mean. You guys are exposed to obscenity just about every day unless you'e utterly paranoid shut-ins or monks, and from some of the posts I see around here, I have to wonder what's going on at that computer...

So getting away from the suggestive puns, I just want to remind some of you what's possible with Forza's livery editor, and wonder why no one wouldn't want individually personalized cars that look like these:

I love that Sagaris, and hope it's in some upcoming DLC.

By the way, my remark about saving "records for each race" is about a feature that was in GT2. There was a record lap retained for each race displayed under the clock for total time and best lap. You could beat and set them yourself, either in a race or time attack.

Wasnt it in GT1?

These few things are what i'm hoping makes it in.

-Bring back One make races from the Dealerships in A-Spec
-Leaderboards
-PP set rooms in the online Lobby with updates like Prologue.
-Bring back the old tracks

I'm not getting my hopes up too high, but i'll be happy with whatever PD brings us.I'm sure that they have probably had this in the works since the game came out.Kaz did say a while back that the game was not complete when released.I'm sure it will be good though.

I, myself, am curious as to what this update and DLC will hold for us. Personally, I'm mainly hoping for more tracks to be added, as well as a couple other key features, mid-race saves being one of them.

As far as what I wish would be included: more cars. I'd love to see some cars like the Koenigsegg CCX, Gumpert Apollo, Pontiac Trans-Am WS6, SSC Ultimate Aero, and Maserati MC12, just to name a few.

I would also love to see more race liveries for some of the existing cars, most notably, the Lark livery and the Gulf livery for the McLaren F1 GTR.

I would most definitely wet myself if it was announced that the big Spec II update included the acquisition of licensing rights to Porsche cars. It'd be amazing to be able to climb behind the wheel of a 997 GT3 RSR with the Flying Lizard livery. But this, I'm almost certain, will NEVER happen.

Either way, I'm sure I won't be disappointed with the update.

Oh, and by the way: "Hi. I'm new here, and this is my first post." :D

Those cars would be killer if they were included. The Gumpert Apollo especially.

Welcome to GTPlanet

But why be dim witted and not make further money from the game by releasing DLC? Does no-one here understand business or are we all bitching about what we want and don't want?

The world doesn't revolve around DLC for your information. Remember PS2? You couldn't even get DLC and yet I still liked the game just the same! Even if there is DLC I will still like GT5 just the same, because I like everything about that game, with or without DLC.
