Are you talking about actual street racing in real life, or some GT5 group you've set up?

Dude - post an advert in the ''online'' section of the GT5 part of this forum (or move this thread if you can), this thread is in the wrong place.

There's plenty of people who will still see it.

Online obviously, Go to course Special Stage 7. . . join a lobby that noted for drags or street racing. Once in go to course, just drive and turn around and head towards tunnel. We race from the entrance. Line up call out a time that is 10 seconds away or so. Leave on that time. Race to the first green lights on the right wall. Come back down the emergency lane to avoid other racers racing.

Thats it, simple and effective. LOADS OF FUN!!!!


FWIW car slamming and being a PIA will get you booted out of my lobby and many others. Be cool and keep the cars clean.

Dont want to participate in drag racing in GT5 if we're just pretending to drag race. I'd rather the real game be set up like that and you can win credits.

True... loads and loads of fun. Last night I was with my 730hp SC300, and it wheelspins a lot, so I went to race a pretty nice looking white Accord and I was smoked until about 180kph, the guys were like "wooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"... it was fun... then my tires just started to have traction :sly:

The thing is, I don't like to use slicks... seems like most guys use them? I think they take away the fun of really controlling your car.

I will say my Viper and ZR1 require a lil driving. I leave in second if you dont keep it straight it will go around right now. tire spin till 70ishmph and grab 3rd.

That's how it's supposed to be... controlling the beasts until you get traction to blast off!

I think using some weaker cheap-o cars tuned for drag would be cool. like the Accord the guy used. Pretty nice to see an "average" car among the beasts.

I was about to try with my drag-spec GNX, but against Vettes and Enzos its pretty useless :(
 
Sounds awesome. If I had any expectation for improvement in GT5, I'm hoping PD adds more utilities for online, including league management and tracking (point system like Prologue, but also scoring setup and tracking, some sort of demerit system to mark those who race dirty, etc).

Imagine being able to take a set track, marking A and B and having the game tell you who won, etc. Combine that with saving the replay and photo mode, as well some sort of livery editor and whole new dimensions open up.

We meet on this track online. Called Specail Stage 7, Enter course and drive, once your on the road reverse a 180 and head backwards to the tunnels. Once there you will find people lining up and racing. We run from the shadow line before tunnel to the first set of green wall lights in right side of tunnel. Seems roughly a 1/4 mile. Judging cars power and weight and traps it seems close. Also the leave, we line up and call a time out that is say 10seconds away..........basically if we are lined up, I would say we leave on 10 second and that is it. OH **** biggie return back down the tunnel on the left side emergency lane with a respectful speed. Slamming cars gets you booted from rooms. We try to keep the cars damage free. Common for people to record us and post on youtube besides no one wants their 69 Z trashed before being recorded. hahahaha

Oh we do spots and give up the hit. Just tell the other person to leave anytime after xx and your chasing them.

Its a pride thing, but damn its fun banging gears, you actually put heat in the tire to get a lil better leave also the tires wear and get ******.

If that happens just back out the course and come right back in and it will replace tires.


To find us we will call the rooms 1/4 Tunnel Drags NO BS........we limit power to 1015 and weight t0 1000kg to keep Veyrons and few other lightweight killers out. This weight lets the Zr1's and Vipers play as well all the classic iron from 60's -80's

I got a GNX and Iroc that I want action with. HEADS UP!!!

It's a course in a street. So, its street racing! :)

Cmon, the action is so nice that I almost can hear the cops coming to take on the speeders.

Iroc and GNX? Got 2 of each waiting for some action! I may appear tonight... @ around 11PM GMT-3.

True, some rooms are full of kids acting stupid, ramming other cars and screwing all the fun...

Its a way we found to do some drag racing on GT5. Fun to get out different rides and roll up on the Tunnels to see who is there and what they are racing.

Get a good fender race and you will why we love doing this. Granted I still play the game regular as well. I am 26/20. Not that I cant race left right, but I cant street race legally or let alone he track are closed and its winter.....local track does street race events. All the same except at the track. We use flaggers, bet cash, spot out slower cars etc........so this type of deal on GT5 really fills a void in the winter.
 
Meh... people just need to lighten up. Don't sweat it. :)

Although I am 100% against street racing IRL (since it hurts racing in general due to politics and other nonsense, besides the obvious dangers), your room sounds like a lot of fun. I wish PD would actually incorporate something like legit drags in the game. I think it would be fun.
