GT5 vs GT4 visual comparison

I vote for 24fps in replays, with motion blur approximating a 180° shutter. Lowering the saturation with 24p and it'll at times be seriously difficult to discern the difference between a GT5 replay and a movie. Won't happen though, just a silly dream from a hobby-cinematographer :)

I'd love that too

24p not so good for high-motion scenes.60p gives more impressions (and emotions).

60fps makes everything look too smooth (in gameplay 60 is ofcourse great).

24fps looks more natural. If movies were in higher fps all the high-speed chase scenes for example would look way too crisp and that would diminish the sense of speed.

60p gives a cheaper look, works great for games but no serious moviemaker would even consider making a movie in 60p (other than for very specific slow mo purposes). 24p works great for high speed scenes aswell, it does after all work in every movie you've ever seen so that is nothing more than a common misconception.

However, since the game only uses motion blur in replays, that is where 24p would be usable. Playing in 24fps would get annoying rather quickly since there is no motion blur to "connect" the frames.

GT4 is not even comparable with GT5.
Just like how GT2 isn't even close to GT3.
As each GT game passes the graphics will become more realistic no matter how you think of it.

About fps in GT.

We talking about GRAN TURISMO.
GT is not MOVIE - it's RACING GAME.60FPS IS GODLIKE for games.
60fps replays in GT4 are AWESOME.It's FACT.No doubt about this!!!
(Have you see olympic games or F1 race in 24p?)

in conclusion: 24fps is 24fps -> have it's own purpose (movie)
60fps is 60fps -> has it's own purpose (televison and gaming - sports,news,etc)
GT is not quest, rpg on somthing, it's racing game -> 60fps better for replays in GT because it's like racing we saw on TV.

Let's close this FPS discussion.

You can't close something so obvious with this. 24P impression is very good and movie-like when it origins from slightly blurred analog movie frames or digital frames with motion blur - exactly like in GT5:Prologue. I don't care about 60fps replays, they look nowhere as cinematic as proper 24p and many effects can't be applied just for those 60fps.

But in the game called by itself a simulator it's crucial for player's smooth perceiving and exact reactions.

Uhm yes, since you obviously haven't looked into television standards, I suggest we stop debating this.

Didn't we just agree on closing the debate? Anyway, it would take you less than 5 minutes of googlework to understand my point and see where your point is flawed. I'm going to leave it at that and hopefully this thread can get back to its original intent.

Edit: NTSC is not 60fps. It's 30fps (or, rather 29,97fps).

Man interlaced means DOUBLE framerate. For example GT4 runs at (in interlaced mode) 480i@30fps (or 1080i@30fps) - so it looks like 60fps.
I know about "drop frame" framerates (23.976, 29,97, 59.94)

I want close this debate because i've started it.

Interlaced doesn't mean double frame rate at all. Once again, get your facts straight.

You understand what i trying to say.
And it's pointless in this context.

Interlaced mean it's consist of 2 fields and CAN be displayed like double frame-rate.AGAIN ALL KNOWS THIS WHY I NEED TO TYPE IT...
