So i was thinking what the differences are between last years Time Trial and Gt5.

2 things i miss:

harder physics: don't get me wrong, i love the physics in Gt5, they are marvelous, rarly put my hands on such a good physics model but i seem to remember that GTTT was a bit harder.
GTTT was a bit too hard maybe (at least for the car used) and Gt5 now seems toned down a bit too much.
for me the perfect setting would be between GT5 and GTTT.
The only car where i spun out till now is the cobra chrome car and only twice till i had a good hand for it. And the TopGear intermediate is really hard.

As i said don't get me wrong. I love GT, this is the only "complaint" i got, I love my standard cars, love the graphics, and love the physics...

but the sadest thing i'm missing are the side lines.

remember in GTTT the yellow lines after the 180° turn.
You could feel every line and every wheel spin when hitting the lines. That was so awesome.
This are somehow missing.
maybe to accomodate casual users (darn you casual)?

I am currently at level 13. Maybe it will be harder on higher levels? that could be the case, also depending on the cars and their layout.

Or maybe i'm just plain wrong :D It's been a year since the TT so my memory could play some tricks

TT?

Tourist Trophy?

Or do you mean GT5: Prologue?

I have to admit the Professional setting on Prologue was rock solid and I loved it. GT5 is definately not quite as focused. Not that I mind as I am rubbish! :oP

There is an additional option that you can enable in practice mode for edges and curbs. Try that and see how it feels. I feel this is much harder than TT. Braking without abs is tricky and it's easy to powerover on exits. Older cars are also very hard to drive.

Sighhhh

I'll say it in this thread as well. The GT5 physics are too unbelievably easy. I want the TT physics back now. There's only one instance where I've felt challenged in a race by my car.

Braking without abs is tricky

It's completely unrealistic. Apparently the brake bias in a stock MX5 is 20/80

Are we talking about the same physics? Have you done that test around rome in the old Ferrari? I can barely keep the thing straight under braking into that first corner (granted im not using ABS)! There is alot of understeer which does make things less twitchy, but I think the physics are bang on. TT was a bit OTT with difficulty, and I think GT5 has it just right.

No he means Time Trial

Yes I meant the Time trail demo with the 370Z.

I am quite happy with the physics, but it thought there was a gap between the TT anf GT5.
I thought TT was a bit too harsh (nearly impossible to do a proper drift) but that was the point of the TT.
Now i think GT5 has been a bit toned down to make it less frustrating.

I think the middle of those 2 would probably be perfect.
But again the physics in GT5 are the very good and i like them.

I tried that setting in the practice, but it is nowhere near the yellow stripes in the TT.
Those in the TT were hillariously good.
Again probably to appeal to a wider audiance.

you said it there, top gear intermediate was awesome! and for a reason, check on wich tyres the 111R was running and you have yr answer right there. :)
Now put those on any car and practice with it... Suddenly it's not easy at all...👍
With every special event and license test i check "driving options" because there all the magic happens.
Don't forget to scroll down for the somewhat hidden option of "trackside an rain" and put that on real!!
