ok. here goes.
this is the idea i have come up with, nothing is set in stone though and all feedback is welcome.
firstly i thought a monday evening might be more suitable for a greater number of people.
i am also thinking of having 2 races each monday.
room open at 8pm, 15 mins of qualifying from 8-15 to 8-30, then the feature race lasting about 30 mins with a compulsary pit stop.
the points for this race would be as follows;
1st - 20 pts
2nd - 17 pts
3rd - 14 pts
4th - 12 pts
5th - 10 pts
6th - 8 pts
7th - 6 pts
8th - 4 pts
9th - 2 pts
10th - 1 pt
11th - 1 pt
12th - 1 pt
13th - 1 pt
14th - 1 pt
15th - 1pt
16th - 1 pt.
then places 1 to 10 would be reversed for the sprint race lasting approx 15 mins with a compulsary pit stop.
e.g the winning driver from race 1 would start the sprint race from 10th. th driver finishing 2nd would start 9th, and so on until the driver who finished 10th would start on pole. places 11th to 16th would remain unchanged.
the points for the sprint race will be as follows;
1st - 10pts
2nd - 9pts
3rd - 8pts
4th - 7pts
5th - 6pts
6th - 5pts
7th - 4pts
8th - 3pts
9th - 2pts
10th - 1pt
the cars for these races will be any gt500 car with a performance point limit of 620 pp.
i think it would be a good idea to only have 2 of each used. allocating cars would be sorted prior to the season starting.
i would impose penaltys for drivers who finish 1st , 2nd and 3rd in the feature race of
1st - 5pp
2nd - 3pp
3rd - 2pp
eg. the winner of the first race would only have 615 pp for the next feature race.
if in the following race that driver finished out of the top 3 they would recieve 2pp back for the following feature race and so on. there would be no limit to penaltys. if a driver won the first 3 feature races they would have 605 pp for race 4.
there wouldnt be any penaltys in the sprint race, everyone will allways have 620pp for the sprint races. penaltys only apply to the feature race.
schedule as follows;
week 1 spa
week 2 tsukubu
week 3 nurburgring gp/f
week 4 monza
week 5 suzuka
week 6 fugi gt

this would be an endurance race of approx 1 hour. the starting grid would be the final league table.
eg champion would start on pole, runeer up strts 2nd on the grid and so on.
another idea is for the feature races to start on racing hard tyres then change to racing soft in the pit stop.
the races would be run with penaltys on. the game would decide whats fair.
just try to give each other room and drive it like you stole it.
lets get the fun back in to racing.
