I downloaded the Hong Kong version about a week ago and was really surprised when I started it up for the first time and i didn't have to install anything.
I checked and it is only about 1.7 gb. But the thing is that it still runs very quickly and little to no load times. What does the 5gb download do? I haven't seen any reason for it yet.

Eventually, there will be additional video contents for you to download which will increase the total file size.
Is there a 5GB download version? If you're referring to the bluray disc version, the installation will take up more harddisk space because of the additional video contents. This is, with reference to the japanese version of the game.

I downloaded and started playing the Hong Kong Chinese version a few days ago as well. I cant get the online, news & tv areas to work yet. any one know why? My idea is that the Blu Ray version releases in Hong Kong on Feb. 15th (few days), maybe there will be a patch, or upgrade to download at that time as the downloadable version came out on Feb 1st. I dunno, any ideas?💡

i bought it on a disc (japanese version) and i check its more then 5 gigs.. i think beacause its not comprassed, makes it better for loading, video and audio ETC..
the game comes with 4 videos in GT TV and 5 videos of each track

My guess is they will enable all online features for the Hong Kong version on the 14th.

I wonder whats so special about the Hong Kong version, does it have an English language option, and when will the normal Chinese version get released? Looks like the player/rammer numbers will increase over the next few weeks.

nothing that i know of is special about the hong kong version that i can tell, but i haven't seen any other version to compare so i may be wrong.

as far as getting online, i am having problems with that too, i read somewhere about upnp and it has to be enabled at your router for it too work. correct me if im wrong but doesn't prologue use upnp? if thats not the problem then i have clue.

I could get online the first few days (feb.1-3), but can't get it to work since then. I don't think it is because of the settings, I think they just disconnected it until the BD version get released (feb. 15 in HK and other asia area)... so check it on 15 and see ....

cool, i just got mine a few days ago so i haven't been able to play online at all. It's actually a good thing, i didn't want to be ramming people having not learned the physics of the game yet. I think im ready though, pretty easy to get used to, just started on class A.

I am not sure about that, you might be able to play online but maybe not downloading GTTV videos, because like the GT5 prologue Japanese demo, i remember you have to use Japanese account to download the GTTV videos, will need to try and see.

Im sure everyone with the Asian Prologue has already noticed, but online features our now up and working. Dont know how long it will last...But its working!!

It's working now? online events? So do you notice that it is using the same server as the JPN version or not? (I'm at work right now :ouch:) Hope this time it'll last ....

Edit: Just read the official note from the Japanese website, seems that the Asia version and JPN version will have the same server for time trail ranking, but different server for race events. That means can't race with the people who got the JPN version.... too bad if that's true.

HK version is so called "Asia Version", online racing will have different servers, so won't be able to play with people with JPN version....but time trail will use global server, you can see the ranking from players all over the world....

currently Asia Version server serves the following: HK, Taiwan are Singpore...

This is making me very worried about how they are going to cover australia. If they stick us with europe that means horrible lag. Keep australia only and that means no players. Either way it seems like I am screwed unless I import again.

Why must sony always do this? Why cant it work like xbox live?

BTW this means that they arent planning to let us host our own online races anytime soon, if ever.
