Anyone noticed that after the update, when you touch the grass the car pull hard to it's direction, like you activated a magnet or something?
I'm pretty sure it didn't happen before the update. You would spin most likely, upset the balance of the car for sure and always lose time if you touched the grass, but now it pulls really hard to the direction of the grass you touched.

Is that normal?

The wheels on the grass have less grip, so the wheels on the track will accelerate better, causing the car to yaw into the grass. This is compounded by the fact that grass has a generally higher rolling resistance, but I'm not sure if GT accounts for this.

I've not noticed a significant change myself. Are you sure you're not using different grass / wet track grip settings? (i.e. in arcade, GT:Practice or online)

I play with all aid off and didnt notice this prior to/after the update. Usualy, when I have 2 wheels on grass, I let the gas pedal to avoid spinnig out.

I have actually always felt GT was too forgiving for putting two wheels off... I can usually get my car 4/5 off the road as long as I am going relatively straight and floor it and still fine and straight... I did notice the grass felt a little more dangerous last night, but I was also racing an RX7 for the first time in a long time which is a dangerous car to begin with...

Hmm isn't there an option for real/low of track grip level. Can't say I've played much since the update.

I noticed, it feels like gt5p did, it sucks, if you mentally think about the grass you get sucked into it then pulled completely off the track.

I always race with all aids turned off with the exception of racing line on tracks I haven't fully learned yet and ABS on 1 (DFGT brake pedal isn't good anough to turn it off.)

I noticed it on susuka in the S. Vettel challange, which is the first thing I tried after the update. Normal sunny conditions of course.

Maybe it was there and I just noticed now. But I can tell you that it's really unforgiving if you touch the grass now. That's a good thing, I'm not complaining at all. :)

Just though this was something added in the latest update since I didn't notice it before.

Thanks for the explanation of what happens in real life.

I've not noticed it on the grass, but I have found myself sometimes being stuck to the barriers after slightly running wide and I have to hit the handbrake to get free.

Depends how your wheels get into the grass. If the inner wheels get on grass nothing happens as the load is on the outer wheels. However if your outer wheels go on grass all the grip will be lost on the loaded tires and so the grass will suck you in.

Also if you are driving on a straight line and accelerating at the same time and your tires end up on grass the tires on the grass will not pull you forward anymore while the others will continue their pull and this again will swerve your car into the grass.

Ok, thanks.
So I'm the only one that noticed this after the update? It did upset the balance of the car and made me lose control before, but now it's pulling really hard to the grass' side.
I'm starting to think I'm the only dumbass who only noticed it now... lol

In real life if a car gets a wheel on the grass it is pulled further onto it. When I'm karting I feel this often where you don't want to run wide because if you do you get sucked onto the grass and there is nothing you can do. This is because the wheels on not on the grass have more grip and turn the car onto the grass because they are gripping unlike the ones on the grass.

I always set grip level to low in practice, it is just a good habit to keep you "honest" about a track.

But it depends on the car, get the tire of a mc4 or italia off and with a little adjustment you can hold it and correct. Get the tire of an 599 or enzo off and call the ambulance.

Lest from my experience, been doing at good bit of laps of nurburg ring on sports tires and some cars are easy to hold if you get a wheel or two off, others not so much.

I'm sorry but setting it to low in practice makes things easier. Set it to Real to be "honest about a track."

It clearly says "Grip REDUCTION on Wet Track/Track Edge"
Setting it to low means you'll have less grip loss.
Setting it to real makes it easier to lose grip.

Opps sorry yea lol i meant that not low.

Can someone tell me if this is talking about the red and white striped part of the track? If it is then I don't understand why the pros drive on it so much, and the b-spec guys seem programmed to cut every corner even at their lowest pace.

I also noticed when you slightly bump into a wall, you get pulled pulled to it similar to what you said, and it's hard to pull away from it.

That's dependent on which part of your car hit the wall, how you came into contact with the wall as well. On corners when you hit a wall it's pretty hard to get off it especially if you are going at speed. You see this sort of thing in NASCAR a lot, most of the time the rear end hits coming out of a turn and that causes the front end to careen at the wall the rocking motion puts the whole car on the wall, sometimes it can cause the car to ricochet and go the opposite direction away from the wall and that is always worse.

The grass issue isn't a problem at all, just know that high power tends to cause cars to do unpredictable things. The license tests, and the AMG driving school stress this point, be careful of throttle inputs when you get a wheel off the road. Just remember that one wheel is powered on either the left or right side of your car, so when you drop the non driven wheel in the grass, you tend to go more into it, grip is only on the road wheel so the one in the grass is lagging behind at high speed causes the car to go in the direction of less grip. Key, get your foot off the gas and prepare to counter steer then get on the gas after you have gotten the car in a controlled state.

That track grip option is for only when it's wet

V1.05 race, see 4:00 I went the opposite direction into the tyre barrier wall on the other side of the road :)

Yes it is talking about them. In real life some of them are slippery, most are not. They are great to use because they extend the track, allow you to get a better turn in or run wider carrying more speed. They are also often banked so gravity will work in your favor. Even when there is a loss in grip the benefits out weigh the loss. Unless you spin on it and lose a world drivers championship like Mark Webber :P

Noticed the same.
What I find even more disturbing, is that when you accidentally hit a car in the back, it's like you're glued to it. If you brake, the car in front of you also brakes, so you're still stuck behind it, if you try to steer, the car in front of you slides in the opposite direction but ALWAYS manages to get back in formation, causing me to spin out. I'm not a worthless driver, not in real life nor in GT5 but this is happening to me a LOT.

Sorry for the long boring straight sentence.
