if a "livery editor" is included in gt5 i will quit playing the game and sell my ps3. a more american thing i could not imagine. worst idea ever.
You do that, the rest of us will enjoy the game more.

Because its Real and Quite cool, i mean who doesnt like to buy a Beater and restore it to its full capacity? it would be really awesome if in gt5 Used cars came with Scratches and reaaally dirty:drool:

I can see it now. My wife comes downstairs and sees me putting my Ford Focus through a car wash...looks at me...shakes her head, and walks back up stairs in disbelief. :)

Bring it!

Huh? What are you talking about, American? You wouldn't buy the game because it has the option to paint your cars?

I was never into gaming during the GT1-GT4 days. Could someone explain to me the purpose of having a car wash? (I know that a clean car is more aerodynamic).

Were you in races so long that the car got dirty that you had to pit and wash?

Your a fortunate person in that if you haven't played GT4, you can for a few bucks easily fill the wait for GT5 with that game.

The graphics may take some adjustment, but the rest is, IMO, a great game. Played in 1080i its not bad.

I've literally logged thousands of hours over the past 4yrs. and still play it some now.

It doesn't seem to me to play as well on the PS3 and I still have some freezing issues, so I play it on the PS2.

I would get it, but I don't want to spent the money on buying a PS2 and hooking it up. I am just going to stick with my PS3 and go forward with GT5.

I am reviving this topic because TGS and the Asian Gaming Show both show no signs of GT Auto. I assume it'll be there, but perhaps it'll be under a different icon (a la Tuning Shop which HAS been confirmed, obviously).

Maybe GTAuto is in the tune shop that was shown on the feature pic on the front page,I hope they have a racing modify on GT5,Mustang GT '07=Mustang GT 10' NASCAR COT Etc.

Meanwhile, at PD...

Kaz: "Alright, this game is ready to be released"
employee 1: "wait! We forgot to do the Mustang race mod!"
Kaz: "OH BOB SAGET. Alright, who isn't busy?"
employee 2: "it's take your daughter to work today, so my 5 year old is here"
Kaz: "OK that'll do. There's a computer, let's get here modeling the new car right away!"
employee 1: "OK, it's been 3 minutes, so hopefully she's fired up Maya and completed this car in time to get GT to launch day on time!"
Employee 3: "uurrgh, she just warped some of the panels in a way, great for a 5 year old, but we can't release something that ugly in GT"
Employee 1: "wait, didn't they do that with the nascar Mustang in real life?"
Employee 2: "yeah, I remember that ugly car. Good girl!"
Kaz: "That went better than expected. Alright laddies, tally ho!"
Employee 2: "oh god it looks like she passed out from dyslexia before she started smasming wildly on the keyboard immediately after she fired up Maya!"
Kaz: "And? The car looks the same as the real thing. AND we didn't have to pay anyone to design it. GT>Real, my friends"
Employee 4: "LOL mustang"

Aftermarket wheels need customizable size, width, AND offset.

Tire width and profile NEED to be customizable as well! Actual brand/model of tires would be even better!
If tire wear is implemented having the option to shave tire would be really cool, what about tire pressure?

All these are absolutely essential to the feel/handling of all cars!

I'd love to have the regular stuff that they had in GT4 + changeable rims size/widht and ability to choose a different paintjob. and livery editor would be a big +++

That is what I think GT Auto will include (if it's in!).

GT Auto has the chance to be an epic part of the series, unlike in GT4 when it was pretty basic and lame.:nervous:

We'd probably get:
  • Body kits
  • Wheels
  • Engine re-builds
  • Oil change
  • Car wash
  • Livery editor
  • Changing your car's colour (fed up with your purple Silvia? Change it to red!)

GT Auto hasn't been officially mentioned yet, but I bet there's a ton to be offered there.

Once it's announced, I'll be a happy man. Should prove to be amazing. And I think Forza 3 put some pressure on PD (obviously for the better.)

So far we've seen 2 examples of factory-spec'd wheel options. The BBS rims on the suby, and the 19 inch wheel option for the SLR Mclaren. I think we've a good chance of a TDU style showroom menu.

But in GT Auto I want what's been drooled over already. Paint, aftermarket rims (with a size option, within reason), Livery editor, spoilers and body kit editor. Along with the classic car wash and maybe (as before mentioned) a whole engine service instead of just the oil.

multi-colorable rims
+own multiple sets per car

no more awkward wings

if body kits arent included. then make multiple styles of R tuning in the Tune Up section.

This! it makes a BIG difference to looks too. I have never come across a game with adjustable offset on cars, so most cars in games, to me, do not look very good.

I would keep everything it already had and would enjoy changing the exterior of the car, but what i want most in GT5 is for each and every performance part you add to your car be affected by what parts you already have and the condition of the car. For example if you buy a used car every once in a while it should have problems, the cylinder walls are in horrible shape and if you don't replace the cylinder sleeves or swap the block before putting a turbo in you will blow your motor. Same as if you don't change the oil before the turbo install you cause detonation.

I just want the performance upgrades to have a more substantial impact on the game.

Engine Refreshing~ the block is honed, gaskets and bearings are replaced along with new piston rings, cylinder heads are rebuilt (This would greatly improve engine performance and result in more horsepower and torque)

Engine Service~ Oil is drained and replaced along with the addition of a new oil filter, The Air Cleaner is replaced or cleaned and spark plugs are changed, The Ignition and Fuel Systems are re-tuned for maximum performance (This would result in a gain in horsepower and torque)

Brake Service~ New Pads or Shoes, Brake Fluid is flushed and changed, Discs are resurfaced or replaced (This would result in overall better braking and increase the responsiveness of the brakes)

Drivetrain Refreshing~ The Transmission and Differential are fully rebuilt (This would result in smoother shifts and a increase in acceleration and traction)

Suspension Service~ Shocks or struts are replaced, Wheels and Tires are Rotated and Balanced (This would improve the car's in game handling)

Suspension Refreshing~ Stock Suspension Bushings are replaced with High Performance Polyurethane Bushings, Worn out components are replaced (This would greatly improve the car's in game handling)

Wheel Shop~ Hundreds of Name-Brand and Used Wheels to choose from. Many different sizes would be available.

Exhaust Shop~ Choose from different high performance exhaust components like headers, mufflers, side pipes, high-flow catalytic converters, and even complete systems (Different Components would affect the cars in-game sound and have a small increase in horsepower and torque)

Car Wash~ Same as in previous GT's

What I would like in addition to that is ECU Reprogramming. Fuel Mapping and all that kind of stuff. So you could have to cars with the same aftermarket parts where one of those would be running a little bit faster because of the improved pick up. Probably totally overkill but still *fancy* :D

Here's my predictions:

Car Wash / Wheel Shop (w/adjustable rim size) / Oil Change / Aero Shop (including racing widebodys and spoilers for most cars) / Paint Shop (re-paint your cars - i.e. if you won a Mini Cooper in red you could repaint it green)

Livery Editor should be in its own category.

Also, velo, you're a horrible troll.
