Finally finished off the last bits and pieces to get 100%! Took me roughly 4 months from receiving the game or 104 in game hours and 14 454 km :)

How have you others been doing?

To summarize my experience:

  • I have enjoyed the game a lot! (with some frustrations of course but that's kind of part of it!)
  • Sometimes frames have dropped on certain tracks.
  • Drifting was superhard with g27 (I went with Ds3 which made life easier). I will revisit this one.
  • My biggest headache was Ford GT challenge on Nurnburgring at night against the faster Ford GT (I think I spent good 4-5 hours to win this one. Some days after I had golded it, I noticed my color settings were quite dark and may have been the reason for so much struggle. I will revisit this one.)
  • I think this game was visually better than gt5 and the physics too
  • I actually enjoyed the cut down versions of endurance races better than "real" ones.
  • My first GT with 100% completion!
  • I don't really understand all the negativity that has been going on regarding Gt6 and won't get involved in that. As long as PD continues to improve the GT series, I am happy!

I was quite disappointed at how short a time I got 100% in. Took me two months to get everything except the Red Bull challenges (which I completed a few hours after release). Granted I work part-time but even so, I only played for a couple hours at a time, every few days or so.

I found it very easy in comparison to other games and previous GT's. It's not without it's challenges; the Shifter Karts and Coffee Breaks were particularly frustrating for me and took several attempts (drifting with DS3 :banghead:) as did a couple of the missions. The last Goodwood event was the only real struggle for me. The licences are a breeze to gold when compared to how difficult it is in earlier games.

I was surprised to get the platinum trophy before getting 100% too and overall I was quite disappointed at the general difficulty of GT6.

I don't mean to complain but you ask what our experience is with completing the game, for lack of a better phrase, and I'm just trying to be honest without going off on a rant. You say you can't see where the negativity is coming from. Well, this is where a lot of mine originates.

For many GT6 was/is plenty challenging and that's fine, but for many others the single player was a breeze. For me it would have been nice to race against harder AI in longer races and against quicker times in the timed events. A more customisable experience would have been preferable that catered to all levels of skill and experience.

I think the emphasis is very much on online play now and that is where you'll get the most out of GT6. As a result the offline/single player mode has suffered. It's just something to get out of the way before you move to the online racing, or ignore entirely once it's unlocked.

GT6 Singleplayer is so easy, that even Golding License Tests took me like 4 or 5 tries. It takes me 40-100 tries to get gold on the more difficult License Tests on the other games. I'm just one license away to get all gold because PD tought it was a good idea to put a Veyron on a track like Ascari.
Also, i'm still far away to 100% because i'm so lazy and that GT6 got boring really fast, sadly.

I like to say that GT6 is a perfect game to start playing the series. It's quite friendly towards new players. Just be careful on the previous titles, ESPECIALLY the first game due to it's physics

I've been playing for more than two weeks and overall I'm pretty satisfied with GT6. At first I was excited then disappointed with the races. This game also feels too much like Need For Speed with the star system and the tutorial in Brands Hatch is similar to NFS Shift's first race.

However, that's one of the reasons why I like GT6, it's something different. Also I like the fact that it's easier to gold licenses because I feel more confident with my skills even if they are fake. By the way, I managed to gold all but the Super licence tests, but Super here is much easier than 5s.

GT6 is awesome and alll but it's not perfect, I miss the leveling system, and most of the new courses are hard and annoying(especially Ascari, I hate it; Brands Hatch and Willow are pretty awesome, and theres almost no special events. The moon missions get old fast.

Some people complain about no course maker or no B-spec, but that's not needed to enjoy the game. Sure PD promised that stuff and it's not good for them to not communicate with their fans, but they eventually deliver, besides the game is designed without most of those features in mind. Anyways, that's my two cents about GT6.

P.S. I don't miss the endurance races at all they were long and pointless, hope they don't return.

They arent pointless. 24 hours of Nurburgring and Sarth are real races and this is the real racing simulator.....

Well I can agree with the previous speakers reg a customisable difficulty level for more experienced drive ers. But I guess setting the AI aggression would have made the races harder? I think adjusted it a notch (but not too much).

Obviously not so much of help for the license challenges.

I forgot to mention, the seasonals are also heaps of good fun. It's great to see how you stack up the rest of the community!

One more thing that would have been cool is to get global rankings on certain events, like the licenses and coffee breaks..

Im also dissapointed. I completed it in about 3 weeks. Compared to gt5 wich took me 5 months, and gt4 half a year.
Its simple. PD dont know what to put in the game...

Yeah, and in GT5 you have to do it entirely by yourself (A-Spec). Nobody IRL does an entire 24h race. In fact, that's the reason why i stopped playing GT5, because i'm still 18 hours away from finishing the 24H lemans

That's a terrible joke. GT5's Super License is the most easiest that i ever seen. Golded easily because it's a "chase the rabbit" in one lap. Oh, and you don't get punished by crashing on the opponents.
The true dificult S licenses are in 2, 3 and 4. Especially 4

I actually loved, and really miss the endurance racing and I hope they bring it back. It was actually quite rewarding to watch the entire event unfold from the cockpit. The different weather conditions and the day to night to day changes were quite awesome. I actually repeated the Ring 24HR...

About 60% done after having the game for 3 weeks. GT4 is the only GT game ive never completed, due to a corrupt save.

came to 96% before january, wont do the red bull races until they fix race win recording problem.
