I can summarize my experience of the past 2 weeks with just one meme

Like dont like.webp

And heres the proof...

DR progression.webp

As usual, Im going to miss Nurburgring.

I don't blame you mate, that Drake meme described perfectly what you were saying. Having low DR makes anybody want to stop racing for a while until they get back on track. Well, I'm going to bed soon, just saw your post. Take care and don't give up hope.

@Childe Roland

Well getting 3rd place is better than nothing, great effort and work through the wet roads mate!! The Nordschleife is a difficult course which requires a lot of practice, focus and attention to not make any errors or crash into the wall/opponents. And you have to use more caution during the rain.

:)

Errr, the guy that finished 3rd made a mistake and went off the track, then decided to try and ram 2 guys off the road - one of them was punted in to the pitlane. He'd already punted other people off before this happened.

Gr4 on mediums means "almost" all corners flat out... Gr3 in Brazil is something I was waiting for some time. I'll see you guys in the weekend, have a good racing week.

Not quite the week I was hoping for in daily C last week.

Used the Genesis all week and set a mediocre 8:42.4xx on Tuesday and stuck with it.

Predicted the weather incorrectly on 3 occasions which accounted for 3 finishes outside of the top 10.

19 races total resulting in:

3 wins
6 podiums
10 top 5
16 top 10

Got my DR up from around 80% B to around 20% A, so happy with that.

Pretty clean racing out there for the most part, which is always welcome.

I feel I’m really missing out on race A this week 😬

Rest I can let go, but I won’t be back until following Monday where I’m off Monday and Tuesday 😁 enjoy it guys, I certainly won’t miss Fuji 🤣

I'm terrible at Fuji, but I decided this time to join the Monday Evening Smashy Smashy Brigade. Sorry to those I hit, or am I? Lol.

Win 3 for the Focus. This was also bashy in the first few laps but I was at least trying to keep clean.

How is the one make race for the Focus this week?
As messy as races always are on this particular circuit!

I forgot that this is the track where you can get rammed going into turn 1, and the perpetrator doesn't get a penalty. It happened to me twice yesterday, done by the same guy on lap 1 - the second time he rammed me into the car in front of me, and I got a 4 second penalty! Nothing for the rammer though, and he had a blue SR at the end of the race....

It must be something to do with it being a tight hairpin, because I've noticed that the same thing happens at the hairpin at Suzuka. Maybe the angle of contact affects it?

You know what hopped into my mind yesterday. The "LM editions" of the Mitsubishi GTO(3000),honda del sol and especially the Mitsubishi FTO with all wheel drive. I want that back as a GT4 car, that would be great. ..
I actually don't like Fuji, but with those slow gt4 cars on medium it really feels like a racetrack and the races are fun. I think in race every car is competitive (except the M4,). I only did 2 laps of qualifying in the NSX and could get below 1.52 but was already faster in race. But what i wanted to say. While in race lap 3 i had two G70 in front of me. Me p10 they p9 and 8.
P9 had a 0.5 penalty but he was 1.4 seconds in front of me. I could barely see p8 he was maybe > 2.6s. In front. On the long straight, where the markers are for the penalties. P9 went left off track over the grass, around the penalty marker and i saw him ghosting and the break lights shortly everything like he served the penalty but instead of me getting closer he gained a few hundreds of a sec and was even able to overtake P8 at the end of the straight. Now even if P8 had a one second penalty, he wouldn't have reached him if he had the normal 0,5 break /power off penalty.. Anyone ever saw something similar? Going around the yellow marker and not losing in speeeeeed

Was at Laguna Seca Saturday for the historic races. Cadillac had a full size version of the new Gran Turismo Vision Car, the CX.R. They also had a Sim setup so you could drive it on Laguna and the ‘Ring. Pretty cool. My son came first against the AI!
Now that i have seen it as a Banana, i will always see it as a banana 🙄

Yep, seen several times already. It's sort of cheating, reducing dramatically the time loss serving the penalties.

It’s a known exploit, and isn’t as useful at most tracks as there simply isn’t the time save but at a few place (Fuji) being one of them it is a time save but only if you have a solid exit on to the straight.

I have a pretty good idea of why it works but for most people it won’t make enough of a difference because the differentials are quite large. In the top end it can make the difference but only because they are all typically closer together.

It’s a hard one to fix if you step away and think about it, but ultimately the deceleration of being off track shouldn’t be considered in the penalty forced slow down.

Personally I’ve never done it as for my pace it makes a zero difference.
