I've noticed that whenever I try to quit GT6, be it by the PS Button -> Quit Game, ejecting the disc, or even hitting the power button, the console always locks up and then force reboots, then brings up the menu telling me there was a problem trying to load the system and to run a disc drive check.

Is anyone else having this issue? I've been avoiding GT6 because of it but patch 1.02 auto-installed so hopefully the patch fixed the issue? My PS3 is a 120GB Slim, sold in 2009.

I had this problem, then ver. 1.02 came along.

Yes, Mine's doing the same thing, crashing every time I quit. And that's with all the updates added too.

It started doing it intermittently when I downloaded 1.01 but it does it all the time after I loaded 1.02

Try waiting 2-5 mins before you quit, give the unit a bit of a chance to cool a bit, under no load.
And use the quit with the XMB showing as a ghost. (not black screen quit)
Also never Turn off directly after playing, give your until time time cool with the fan on, until you turn off, else the CPU will get even hotter.

I've tried this as well (thanks for the suggestion) but mine still crashes when I quit.

Has anyone had any luck with fixing this?

Cheers.

I had the same problem. I went to the recovery menu to rebuild the system files and database. I've had no problem since then.

I don't quit. I immediately close the PS3 after saving my GT6 data.

I tried that method too but my system still crashed.

What I have found though; I just happened to be going through the PS menu itself and did a check for an update. Turns out there was one to be installed (I didn't note what number, sorry) but, since installing that update to the PS system, I've never had a problem exiting GT6 (exiting via the ghosted XMB menu).

I hope this may help some others with this issue.
