OK here goes. Confessions playing gt6 and why. Mind the numbers.

#1 I cheesed career mode.

Originally I didn't. Reason being is 1.I wanted to get my moneys worth 2. Based on previous installments (when taken as a whole with respect to multiplayer) , career mode provides an opportunity to practice track etiquette and practice for different maneuvers (passing under braking, over under, out in out, etc). As most of us know, ai is HORRENDOUS. When coupled with computer control over when you can start accelerating to race speed before lights out, it instead insists (sometimes) slamming on the brakes at the the 1 sec before start mark and the fact that the ai brakes WAYYYYYY too early into turns compelled me to the cheese .

What are you confessions? I know you have them:D

My Confession- My first round through the Career Mode, more times than not, i use cars that are at the maximum pp level.

We all know that a 565pp car will have no problem competing and winning a 650pp Series. But Im usually too excited when i first get the game to make sure I'm using cars that make it a closer race and harder to not blow away the competition in the first lap. I enjoy my first run through career mode dominating the AI. I like getting my credits up fast and buying all the cars i wanna drive.

Even the Mission races and license test. Gold, silver, or bronze, if my time gets me to the next step i take it. So even if its ridiculously easy, i like seeing all the content career mode has. And after its completed.. THAN i go back through and will restrict my cars to a certain PP Level. I will not put the controller down for hours till i Gold the 45sec Goodwood event. I will use every ounce of patience i have to precisley execute that perfect lap for that 100th of a sec better time.. Eventually I will make sure to get my Platinum Trophy. .

Its pretty much an undisputed fact that these days game developers (given an online mp component) are gearing more of their development efforts towards that. Saying that, its been a rule of mine for a while to complete single player before even stepping foot in the mp realm. I choose lower pp cars without any modifications just to make career mode interesting and somewhat fun. But that has ceased as its making me start to rip my hair out.

People who actually were bothered to do all of the grind events fairly should be the ones confessing here :p.
It must be wonderful to be able to say that you completed the career mode, apparently without really trying. I hope you have all entered the GT Academy.

Using only my 2 thumbs to control my cars and auto gears ( Useless arthritic fingers) I also breezed through the Novice and Nat B sections.
I had 1 or 2 second and third attempts to get through the Nat A and International B sections. Then I hit 2 brick walls in the International A section. The World Championship and the S licences. After a month of utterly mind bending grinding I finally got bronze passes in both. Oh how disappointed I was when I found what all that work was rewarded with. Several nondescript 20+ minute races.

Then after upgrade 1.06 along with many others apparently, disaster struck, my disk simply refused to load. Having a 500GB PS3 I decided that instead of replacing the disk I would download the game instead, this time buying the 15th ann version to give me a few good cars to start with. I have started all over again, but this time I will give the S licences a miss.

From initially completing the game to 100% and getting platinum in December with my main account, I have since played through the career again on a secondary account another 3 times [with different car choices each time/mostly stock] up to all gold licences & missions and 70-75% complete + 20-25 million Cr earned.

I just took 3 stars at National A Euro Hot Hatch Series at Spa Francorchamps using the 1954 Citroën 2CV. I know that winning with an underperforming car should be an achievement rather than a confession, but there seems something reprehensible about squirting Nitrous into a stage 3 tune on sports tyres in a fully weight-reduced 2CV in "the real driving simulator" :/ And as for where the tuning shop came up with those thermionic valves for the 1954 vintage "Sports Computer", I will never know.

I guess I won't be finding any further events suitable for this ride beyond the Euro Hot Hatch series.

I checked my stats and I have run Route X 102 times in my M-B Vision. Did the math and I've spent almost 7 hours on the track. Usually run it when I fire up GT-6 for log-in bonus reasons but don't feel like racing. Holy crap, that is a lot of time. But the 14 Mil. credits were well spent.
