Now the GT6 has surfaced. What kind of wheel would you like to see?

I would like a wheel with an H Shifter with a clutch. 1080* rotation. Good pedals and around 200 Bucks.

Sorry, but what does that mean?

You want them to launch a new wheel along with GT6?

Not asking for much are you? All that for not much more than a DFGT? Also not sure what is official about this thread.

Well i think he is going by the DFGT (which a model was made for GT5)

I would like to see full support on the options page for Fanatec wheels. I use a CSR Elite and Have Turbo S as well. Would like to see both of those or if not then just a generic Fanatec wheel in the list with full clutch and auto clutch compatibility.

I am happy with my G27, I am just hoping for full implementation of the clutch. There is no way I can afford a new wheel!

Agreed. The clutch physics need to be fixed

I'm planning to get the Driving Force GT soon.
but I'm not sure if it will be compatible with GT 6.

I'm planning getting DFGT by Christhmas, but I've two things bothering me. PS4 connetctivity and if there is a wheel to come for GT6

With GT6 being a PS3 game, I would be shocked if existing compatible wheels weren't compatible.

That being said, I'm not sure if we really should expect any new wheel for the game. Logitech seems to be parachuting out of the market, Fanatec doesn't seem to be the company to strike up an official relationship with Sony when they've already got one with Microsoft, and Thrustmaster might not want to risk cannibalizing the undoubtedly fat profit margins the T500RS has with an entry level wheel that they make less money on.

I doubt there'll be anything better than the T500 so maybe a more affordable version I guess.
What he said.

And though Logitech is bailing on the console market, perhaps because of the (bogus) Immersion lawsuit, just about every Gran Turismo has come with a new official wheel. I'd love to see a Thrustmaster 300 or the like.

As for compatibility with existing wheels, you can bet on that. PS4 is up in the air, but I'm betting it allows USB wheels too.

I wish for the T500 to work with GT6... And, lucky me, it will, as it was used at Silverstone :D.

I think we'll see the same wheels, in GT6, as we did/do in GT5. I could be wrong.

The Thrustmaster T100RS might be the new official GT wheel. If is belt-driven, and at least 900 degrees at a price similar to DFGT is and has similar number of buttons then I think it will be a good successor. Also will be good if it is modular enough to be able to say get a H-Shifter add-on and better pedals as upgrade paths.

Logitech meant to be releasing soon successor to G27, doubt it will be official GT branded wheel though.

I'll ask for a g29 Belt ran like Fanatec wheels a g27 gear shifter style T500 pedal style but with better springs and stuff

so basically
-updated Fanatec wheel but with quick release to put different wheels on and belt driven
-updated and upgraded g27 shifter (make the gears changes a bit stiffer but not to much they are almost there)
-updated and upgraded g27 pedals (by upgrade i mean nixim mod style springs for pedals and the ability to invert them too
for about 350-400 dollars
with a middle part for a PS button

with red and black through out most of it with a little bit of blue to get that gt spirit out of the wheel

I have raced with a GT Academy Finalist. He has had a Fanatec wheel, he said it was nothing but an expensive piece of crap.

he is on GTP: choate51

Well maybe he got a bad one or maybe he just doesn't know what he is talking about. The fact is they are the only wheel that will allow you to play both the Xbox 360 and the PS2/3 using the same wheel and to many of us this is a very big deal.

The first fanatec wheel I bought had some issues I got a Turbo S with standard pedals. After I had been racing for a few minutes I could hear a faint clicking noise which sounded like a wire touching a fan inside the case. A little more driving and I hear a high pitched whine that would drive me mad if I had to listen to it long. I contacted the company and told them I could fix it if they would allow it without voiding the warranty and they aggreed.

They told me the "secret" steps to take the wheel apart and sure enough the click was a wire that was a bit to close to a fan blade. Easy enough. The other noise was a defective nylon bearing in one of the smaller fans. I emailed the support staff and they shipped me a new fan right away and from there on the wheel worked fine.

Other issues... the initial firmware did not support a dead zone adjustment and some cars in GT5 were hard to drive on the straights, especially the Karts, the F1s and the X1. This was corrected with a firmware update which allowed for an adjustable dead zone.

The major problem I had was the pedals, They were basically garbage. They acted up a lot, brake coming on by itself throttle not going to 100% when floored and such. I took them apart got them working properly for a few days then they stopped working completely. Fanatec sent me a new set which worked fine for a while but then started having the same issues. I eventually took apart both sets and made some heavy mods to them which I was sure would do the trick and it did for a while but after a few weeks each of them starting acting up again.

Eventually I went ahead and shelled out the cash for a set of club sport pedals and they have worked beautifully for the last 2 years. About a year ago I bought the CSR Elite wheel as well and replaced my Turbo S with that one. The TurboS still works great but the CSR Elite is better in several ways [and more expensive]

I also have several friends with Fanatec Wheels and pedals one of them has had some issues and had to return his wheel a couple of times but the others have had no problems and are loving them.

So let me see if I'm reading this right. Youre sayin Maybe this guy has a bad wheel or doesn't know what he's talking since he says theyvwhere an expensive pos. You're disagreeing with the statement that they're junk, yet your rebuttal is providing personal instances where the wheel is junk, and in one case, replacement wheels where junk.

I've bought things that other people said where junk and loved them and vice versa. It's up to one individual to determine if its pos to them or not. I know if I paid the high price for some of ghost Fanatec or thrustmaster wheels, I would expect nothing short of a great experience. I've used a csr elite at a friends house and I promise you, you'll never see that name in my signature. He had it under 7 months before sending it back for a replacement. If they send out that many defective high end wheels, something is wrong.

Just as long as games keep supporting my g27 for ps3, I'm good. As for Xbox, I'm already faster than 99.7% of the drivers when i am using the Xbox controller. I can live with that.

The fact is that there are bad products in every line especially new products. It happens and sometimes you get burned but that does not mean the product is junk.

I was not happy with the wheel at first but I was very impressed with the way they handled the issue and have had 0 problems now for the past 2 years. As I said also several friends have them and only one had an issue. He sent the wheel back on 2 occasions. On one occasion there was a problem with the wheel and they refunded his money in full which he then used to buy a different model Fanatec wheel it would not hold the firmware or something like that. The prior time he had tried to change the firmware and messed up something himself that he could not sort out on his own. My other friends are very happy with theirs and would not even think of buying anything else if the need should arise.

So basically to say it is an overpriced POS means as I said either he got a bad one or doesn't know what he is talking about. Sure everyone has an option but that don't make it correct and you can be sure that there are many happy customers out there using a Fanatec Wheel right now.

I was pretty quick with the controller on XBox as well in fact I was faster with the controller than the MS Wheel but then I started playing GT5P and hated the DS controller. I picked up a DFGT and loved it on the PS other than the no dead zone, if only it would work on the XBox as well I would have kept using it. In any case it was so much better feeling than the MS Wheel that I decided to shell out the cash and even though I had several issues with the pedals I still liked the wheel and if I would have went ahead and bought the CS pedals at the start I would have enjoyed it even more.

It is a good wheel and pedal set and seems to be getting better all the time.

So if any of you are thinking of getting one don't be swayed by one or two people who had a bad experience. It happens with all products from time to time and the real test is what the company does about it when you get a dud.

If they make something like the Driving Force GT, that quality at that price, I could see it being a big hit.

Call the Driving Force GT6

+1. I'd love this too, but mapping buttons is okay once you sit down and program them.

I only wish my DFGT will continue to work well with GT6 and GT7 since I really can't afford a new wheel at the moment.

i have already said my version of the new wheel. but i would like gt6 to be compatible with all major wheel companies logitech, thrustmaster and fanatec and full custombility with the controls almost exactly like dirt 3
