This thread has probably already been started in different forms. Using it as a log as I go through 5 again.

Lets start with the obvious:

AI - should not have to tune down the engine on a car in career mode just to make the races competitive. We beat the AI to death in the turns and corners and are evenly matched to outpaced in the straightaways. That needs to change. The AI needs to be more aggressive in trying to win. One way to handle that is have varying levels of difficulty. Easy, Normal, Aggressive for example.

Prizes - I personally don't care about paint and photo locations and horns.
For License Test & Special Events. If you win bronze you should get a standard care equal to the level you are on. If you win Silver you should win a standard car one level above the level of the event. If you win Gold you should win a premium car two levels above the level of the event.

Cars - enough with the Japanese overkill. We don't need 50 versions of the Fairlady. Lets spread out the wealth. What happened to Opel and Porsche being Premium dealers? Of course give us more premium cars and less standard cars.

Credit System: Stinks. The Extreme Nuburing race of 7-8 minutes yields about 82,000 credits. But the 2.5 hour Level 30 endurance race only yields 125,000 cr? Thats crazy. A/B spec are supposed to be "Career" modes. If you are a race owner and you win a race it should be enough to support your team. You should be able to maintain your car(s) weather thats tuning or overhaul or replacing with a new one. A 2.5 hour race should yield at least 1 million cr's. A 24 hour race should give me 5-10 million at least! Lets get this to where we can support the race team and "make a profit for winning!" If you absolutely MUST have a cap on Credits then it should be in the 1 billion or more neighborhood. A successful race owner should be able to take his profits over time and have enough to buy another sports team. Not saying that ability needs to be in the game just saying that the reserves should be high.

Leveling: It shouldn't take months to get from one event to the next on the Endurance level. Shouldn't go from 35 to 40. Instead just add more events 36-39. Don't want to have to go back through races I've already done and do them 50 more times just to unlock the next level.

Buying Cars: Each event should have at least ONE premium car that you can go to the dealership and buy to run that event. I shouldn't have to wait and wait and hope and keep checking the used dealership over and over again in HOPES there will be a car there that I can run an event with.

If I just buy cars for the events and not randomly buy then as I level I should earn enough to buy the next car I need for an event. This locking things and making it a long time before I can get to the event needs to stop. I want to run one event and be able to go to the next within a reasonable time. But I get it. It'll be six years before the next GT so PD figures I have plenty of time to play and eventually get through it before they release the next GT.

B-Spec: Get rid of it! I have NO interest in watching an AI driver race who needs to be told to speed up or slow down. I'd rather have more events to run in A-spec. It's a racing game, I wanna have my hands on the wheel!

Duplicate Cars: Lets stop duplicating cars. Why so many premium Corvettes & Vipers? Chevy and Dodge make more than the Corvette and the Viper!

1. Remove the damned level system
2. Implement a livery editor
3. As many premiums as possible (1,000 premium cars is a little unrealistic considering the work that's put in to them and PD's small size)
4. Prize cars that make sense (a prize car should be able to beat the event you just won, and have something special about it)
5. Licenses required (I might be in the minority on this one)
6. Try to make shadows and smoke look better (I realize that this is a PS3 issue)
7. Crank up visual damage. Damage looks good in GT5, but it takes way too long to get a car to a point where it looks damaged.
8. As many tracks as possible. I'm pretty partial to GT's classic original circuits, but real ones like Spa and Silverstone would be nice as well.
9. Make B-spec an optional experience like it was in GT4.
10. This is pretty obvious, but please, try to get the Porsche license, PD!
11. Obviously the only F1 cars PD can use (at this point) are Ferraris, so why not put more in the game? I wouldn't know which ones to put in, but I'm sure there's an F1 expert on here with some suggestions.
12. Nice, clean menu structure a-la GT, GT2, or GT3.
13. Premium FGT!
14. Online mode needs some improvements in all areas.
15. Forgot to add, A-spec obviously needs more events.

That's about it. If PD can cover all of those bases (which I'm sure they can't), GT6 would be the best racing game ever.

1: The ability to race with your B-Spec driver alongside you, or split with him during Endurance races.
2: Fix the screwed up price car system (in B-Spec the prizes are actually fairly good?)
3: Make it easier to earn big chunks of cash.
4: GT4-style price car system.
5: Livery Editor.
6: More Premiums and RM-able cars.
7: MORE EVENTS!!!

The sounds of the cars need to be improved. GT5 can win in all except sounds compared to Forza 3

Meh, i'm pretty satisfied with the sounds.

1. More Premiums (Less of the same model more of other makes and more Level 0 premiums)
2. Original GT tracks
3. Livery editor
4. More events A and B spec
5. Test track with pitting area to tune car settings etc
6. Standing start on Topgear track from starting line.
7. Updates to be downloaded via PC and installed vie USB flash drive.

More tracks and more premiums. After that all I really want is a better replay system making it easier to take pics and a better photomode if that's possible.

1. More events definitely.
2. More reliable B-Spec.
3. ACTUAL licenses for other series put in, not just one event for them.
4. More premiums, especially a GTO.
5. More reliable used car dealer, bring back the day system and refresh the UCD every week again.
6. Get rid of the level system and put licenses as the requirements for races.
7. Livery editor, and a simple one please.
8. More tracks.
9. Better online
10. Get rid of Subaru.

That's what I really need.

Agree on the replay system. If what I want is near the end of a race I shouldn't have to watch the whole thing to get to it.

1.Release GT6 only when completing 500 PREMIUM cars.
2.Obviously, don't include standar cars.
3.Put more events and add an auto event creator that allows to get Credits much faster.
4.Improve Sounds. Engine, wind, tires, etc.
5.Make AI to match player's car performance.
6.Driver editor & livery editor.
7.Include more rims, spoilers and body kits.
8.A complex track editor.
9.Automatic cockpit view that focus on the track.
10.Ability to explore the vehicles inside and outside in photo mode.
11.Improve the blur effect's quality, it looks terrible, specially on photo mode.

Agree, everything sounds similar. One guy complained that one of the muscle cars had a high whine when there isn't supposed to be one. Give me some more deep gutteral sounding muscle cars!

You just mentioned standard and premium. Hope it isn't like that after GT5.

It probably will be. Kaz' emphasis is on "GRAND" to quote him. Gotta be BIGGER and BETTER. So he can't go down from 1000 cars on the next edition. The hope is that the # of premiums goes up at least double on GT6 and that we don't have to wait more than 2-3 years for GT6.

These are the features I had wanted from GT5...

Some of the things previously mentioned and:
1. Behavior of the car on a slope.
2. Low speed physics.
3. Suspension physics (it was way better in GT Academy demo).
4. ~1000 premium cars (recruit more people if needed - if T10 can make over 500 cars with more parts modelled - FM4 - in just 2 -3 years then it's 100% possible to make 800 (1/5 of it would still be clones but..) premium quality cars).

ps. Sorry if my English is bad.. but I hope, everybody can understand what I mean ;)

10. Get rid of Subaru.

I agree with all your points except for the last one. All the premium corvettes and vipers are completely different cars performance wise

1. Include the Red Rock Valley Speedway (from GT2) in the game again.
2. Include the Red Rock Valley Speedway (from GT2) in the game again.
3. Include the Red Rock Valley Speedway (from GT2) in the game again.
4. More tuning options and stock to race conversion including a modified body and a race livery (official livery if possible, just like GT1 and 2)
5. Fix the rally mode physics once and for all (the car slides too much even at lower speeds...)
6. Include as much iconic race cars as possible.
7. Fix some graphic issues (rain, shadows...) even if i'm satisfied with the overall graphic level of the game.
8. A 3D garage where you can actually see your cars parked (this might need a more powerful machine.. maybe a PS4..)
9. A wind tunnel where you can test and improve your car's aerodynamics and adapt it to each race... (i know this is too much but who knows!!)
10. A dragster mode with 2,000+ Hp monsters!
11. A photo mode where you can photograph more than one car.
12. A better AI that allows the cars to properly avoid abstacles (including me trying to hit them in the wrong way..)
13. A more complex track editor.
14. Tons of new and extremely hard to win challenges and special events.
15. Remove the geographic restriction of the events (The Ferrari challenge doesn't need to happen only in Monza! The British lightweight race doesn't need to happen only in London and the TGTT...)

that's enough for this post :)

Access to the Tuning Shop and Oil Change shop from either the garage or Event menu. If you are in an event menu and look at typical oppents then go in to select a car you should be able to not only tune the car before the race but also add items like an engine mod or buy the right tires (especially the tires). Sometimes I have a car that can run the event but I need to either upgrade or downgrade the tires. Why are you making me go all the way back out the all the way back in.

Data/Engine Analyzer: I should be able to put my car on the analyzer and find out how everything is doing BEFORE I decide to overhaul the engine, etc...

For example:
I put the car on the analyzer and it tells me:
% degraded Overhaul? Cost Replace? Cost
Engine: 13% o 200K o 500k
Transmission: 6% o 50K o 100k
Shocks: 42% o 10K o 25k

I should be able to check the boxes on what I want to do to the car then be given a total cost amount. It should also tell me % of restoration if I chose to overhaul the engine as opposed to buy a brand new one. The new one would give me 100% power, etc...while the restoration would restore it to 97% efficenciey for example.

It would also be helpful if I can do multiple cars at a time 5 or 10. Just speeds up the process especially if I have 500 cars in my garage.

There's a whole list of things that could be improved for GT6. That said, there are quick and simple fixes that could be made to GT5 which would significantly improve the spectacle. A bit of thinking things through is required by the PD team, they do lots of great features, and then so something silly which overshadows all their good work.

Agreed 👍

Leaderboards and a penalty system that works would be a great start. But we won't get into that as there are plenty of threads related to these issues, but both must haves imo.

Look forward to racing with you again soon Steve, haven't seen you around for a while. I'm having a fantastic time in the WRS though :sly:

Livery editor, livery editor livery editor......

My god GT6 is going to look one hell of a mess online once people have slapped the obligatory hentai decals all over their cars. It'll be something more closely resembling the fast and the furious rather than "the real driving simulator".

Well, increase the HP for cars, that had higher hp in gt4. Some japanese cars are far to underrated in this game.

Why don't you just tune them? Some people here need to stop complaining about useless things in this thread.

Simulation Mode
-Add Simulation Mode

-No levels, no credits, no paint chips, no maintenance in simulation mode

-Online extends from simulation mode

-All tuning, paint, and livery options are available on every car from the start

-Simulation Mode allows players to made extremely detailed race rules, including: car, tuning part, tire restrictions, PP restrictions, as well as qualification rules, weather, time of day, pit stop rules, flags, practice rules, reward weight rules, championship points, etc. These races can be run offline as well as online. When run offline, player chooses AI opponents.

Other (also to be included in sim mode)
-Full livery editor

-Option for people to be limited only to the cars they have in GT Mode

-Qualification option for all races

-More detailed tuning: Remove RM, instead have tuning with more than 3 levels that thoroughly cover every aspect of the car. You should be able to take a Mini and turn into in a LMP. Aero parts should have much more variety. The wings available now, would be "low performance", there should be an option to add aero packages equaling those of Super GT, FIA GT, etc, so that anyone can take any car they want and turn it into a Super GT car, FIA GT car, etc. These would be "High performance aero parts. Inbetween would be "Mid performance". At the top would be "Unlimited performance" not bound by any rules, the player would basically design their own aeroparts. Race cars can also be fully tuned (weight reduction, etc).

-All tuning can be removed.

-Physics improved, tires no longer fully define grip, and drag is noticeably changed with increased downforce. Brake fade should be added

-PP does not take downforce settings into account, only the presence or lack of a aero parts

-Damage model improved, more realistic mechanical damage and longer pitstops to fix damage. Inclusion of part failure from overstress.

-More realistic fuel tank size

-No premium models

-Everything is optional and customizable to meet player's expectations

I think PD is not even trying...

I'll skip some of the commonly mentioned things like "opponent AI", but here's my crack at a list of things that I hope to see "improved" between GT5 and GT6:

1. The Game Save Mechanics - Please continue to allow us to back-up or save data, but a heartier mid-race save system designed to reduce hardware strain is an egregious omission of GT5 that I'm still hoping gets fixed but doubt ever will

2. The Interface System - Please fix the menu systems, from the layout of "GT Life" to the awkward way only certain user settings carry over

3. The "Arcade" Approach to Vehicle Condition - Please bring some "real" consequences to the "real driving simulator", get rid of the "my car is essentially as good as new once the race where I trashed it ends" mentality, and promote vehicle longevity through maintenance and clean/proper driving

4. The Replay System - Rewind and fast-forward functions are a necessity, and a "jump to time point" option would be a big plus

5. The Incomplete Photo Tour Mode - Please give us the opportunity to take pictures of multiple cars, and allow us to do more to the appearance of the car than lights and turned wheel angle like open doors/hood/trunk

6. The Separate Existence of A-Spec and B-Spec - Please lose the two separate but essentially identical career path system, and implement a new and blended system that's focused primarily on the player driving creating a harmonious career development system where you're usually (85+% of the time) the driver but occasionally you're the team leader or the part of a driving team (especially in Endurance races)

7. The Car Pricing, Prize, and Trade System - Please give us to opportunity to purchase cars at a faster pace with a credit limit greater than the most expensive car(s), get rid of prize cars, allow us to sell all cars, and totally scrap the notoriously exploited car trading system

8. The Car Customization System - Please scrap the insulting "here's a paint chip when you buy a car that you can only use once" heirarchy, and give us a better customization system more in-depth than body painting, a limited selection of paintable wheels that retains fundamental vehicle aesthetics without the complexity and silliness of a full race livery editor

9. The Program's Stability - Please program us a game where I can't count on the game crashing, losing over an hour's worth of progress, at least a couple of times a week

GT5 is my introduction to the GT series. From what I know it's about as awesome and diverse as a current console-based racing game can be. Because it exceeds expectations in so many ways, the instances that it doesn't do such stand out like a very sore thumb. I'm totally addicted, but based on my (admittedly very limited) experience with the GT series I'm not certain that my addiction level is strong enough to justify sticking with the series - unless PD can take the "great" and "awesome" GT5 and give us a "essentially perfect" GT6, and not in the year 2017, either!

There's plenty more that needs to be addressed, but these are the most significant area from the perspective of this generally offline-only player. I'm sure some of these won't be warmly received by my peers, but these things for me are what keep GT5 from being "essentially perfect" versus just "great" and "awesome".

Peace...
