GT6 not updating to 1.13

GT6 Is not updating to version 1.13 for me. It goes to installation but then stops and gives an error, I can't even play offline. I haven't played it in a month but have missed no updates. Does anyone know why its doing this or can tell me a fix?

Unfortunately, this is just another side-effect of PD completely abusing the PS3's hardware, and allot of PS3's cant cope too well. the most successful solution to this is deleting the GT6 game data (NOT THE SAVE DATA!) and completely re-installing the game and the updates again. Hope this helps!

After you press ok to start the installation press the X button again on your DS3 within 2 seconds of its appearance of the update on screen and see if this helps.

Thank you both for the advice, I will try them. I wish they would leave some things alone, it seems like they make stuff worse with updates instead of better. It's not fun when you have a $60 game sitting around you can't play .

I was just going to post about ver 1.13! Ive had my ps3 collecting dust for the last 5 months or so.I just got it repaired a few days ago.

Since its working now,i wanted to dive into GT6 right away.Whenever I try to update it says i dont have enough free space...?? it makes no sense because I DO have enough space.

I went ahead and deleted the game data (my save files are ok) it still doesnt update and the game starts with none of my progress,only with the racing kart.Its kinda freakin me out!

I think it has a lot to do with the PS3 hardware limitation with GT6. Some people have nightmares trying install the updates and some people do not have much problems with GT6 with updates it is so strange. Try this link also https://www.gtplanet.net/gt6-installation-has-failed-update

I've the same problem here 1.13 version is trying to install but when it gets to around 120minutes remaining it stops and says an error has occurred lowest it's ever got is 70 minutes. I've tried it countless times and still no good. Downloaded the update no problem it's not installing.

Well, it just started the install for it. I downloaded all the other updates. It says 230 minutes left aprox... it's moving like a turtle....

It does move like a turtle, but I hope you get there with the update installed.

Are you using a wired connection or is the PS3 connected via WiFi?

I dont have my own internet yet since ive moved and im piggybacking.

still cant do anything,i have about 11GB of free space...isnt that enough to update?? lol sheesh.

im beginning to think i just need to wait for the next update,i deleted my game data and all

I recomend you to wait until you get your own internet connection...

Piggybaking gets you nowhere if you want to download heavy stuff..

Well, It stopped downloading at halfway. So I restarted it and now it gives me an error, I hit X before the update screen as you suggested and it still didn't work... So idk.. I'll try it again. It sounds like it's doing the same thing as Michaels. I wonder if they'll come out with an update that will bypass it?

I just got mine working! Heres how I got mine to work: 1 Delete the game data, then when your disc is in the system,2 at the XMB menu under games it should be a a picture of the disc. DONT start the game, instead hit triangle over the disc symbol and select check for updates, 3 let it install the first six updates and then cancel the download, 4 turn off your system and then back on. Then start up the game, and hit X within two seconds of it asking if you want to install 1.13, just start hitting X when it loads up to make sure you get it, THEN it should install the rest of the updates and work.... atleast it did for me, i hope this helps you. I did what the guy in the first comment said on the link I posted, just for more reference if you need it.
