I've never noticed framerate drops, maybe you guys need to stop crying because it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Well, I just leave this here:

What does that show?

"Ooh look, the overhead powerlines are straighter now, who cares if it runs at poor framerates with half the cars and the same sounds, we have straight powerlines on Suzuka! Just what the community has been crying out for!"

Yeah because PD are well known for listening to what their fans want aren't they!

For all saying they haven't got framerate issues you either: do not have a clue or you are playing in 720p.

I just changed to 720p and the difference in framerate is immediately noticable, its more like GT5, not perfect but much, much better!

Than I'm guessing maybe 720p is probably the way to go, because I'm not sure if PD is willing to maintain 1080p 60fps with GT6, that's stressful imo.

Don't worry. It's all placeholder anyway. GT6 will be totally different.

Uh oh, the whole placeholder thing is getting to you now.

In my opinion i think thats a hardware problem and not PDs nothing to do about it theres a lot of action around and the hardware is on its limits ,they are trying hard to keep the quality up to the standards of GT5 a little more now with the more detailed tracks, thats what i m trying to say here like Newton said for every action theres an equal and opposite reaction !!!! Peace out I'm going to bed.

Isn't a developers job to create a game within the confines of that hardware?

Has PS3 hardware changed since GT5?

I give up, some people just cannot see what is right in front of their faces.

If you want a game like GT5 awesome cars GT4 quality tracks then keep on playing GT5 or go and show PD how is done this thread is better to get locked so everybody can transfer to the crying and whining thread !!!.

Same here. It is not that noticeable when you concentrating on driving.

I didn't even know there was a problem with jaggies after playing GT5 for two months or so until I read about it on GTP. After I read it and saw a picture I went to the game and looked at some shadows and sure enough, they were jagged and sort of flickering. Then I forgot about it again and went on playing for 3+ years. :) Pretty much all I see outside of replays and photomode, is the next apex and whoever is near me on the track. And I can honestly say that of maybe 3 dozen people that have watched me play or watched a replay of mine, not one has mentioned any of the usual complaints you find here on GTP, other than engine sounds...:)

Not sure what you mean tbh. If you mean concentrate on the actual act of driving, steering, brake, change gears etc then I'm surprised.

Those acts I do automatically without having to concentrate. Where I do need to concentrate is on turning points, apex's and traffic. Those are all relevant to frame rate and hard to ignore.
Many have said they don't have a hitch and its buttery smooth on there slims also???

There's two camps those who notice and those who don't. I wish I was in the don't notice camp but unfortunately I'm not.

Yes mate.

Over at PD HQ:

Kaz "Ok guys, the community and reviews gave us poor reviews last time and the general feeling was that the framerate could have been better and sounds were poor"

PD worker" Well i think we've cracked it with this new GT6 engine, the framerate is great and the new sounds are awesome, i can't wait to show it off in the demo and hear the feedback from the community, because we take feedback very seriously, always listen and our communication with our fans is second to none.... Or is that none?"

Kaz "Yes great work, i'm really happy we can give the fans a taste of whats to come"

PD workers "Yaaaaaay!!!"

Kaz "Right guys, i have an idea, replace the new sound with the old sounds and add unnecessary processing until the PS3 is chugging"

PD worker "But Boss.... They will think we haven't done anything again, why would we not want to show our new stuff, it doesn't make sense?"

Kaz "Don't care, now where's my helmet, i need to go racing, i have given you all a week of my precious racing time already this year, if anyone moans about the game tell them its a Placeholder"

Everyone with a brain "Boo, this is not good:-("
Few Kaz worshippers on GTPlanet "Its only a placeholder, the great one will have our game perfect in every way within 5 months, We love you Kaz x x x"

Ya, you dont notice when concentrating on turn in points etc. I notice it, but only when I am fooling around, and smashing into stuff.

Crickets...

Its fine!

I only notice it when the GT6 demo/GTAcademy is on, its fine when i'm on the XMB, whats all the moaning for?

Oh lord. Some of you really make e wonder what goes on @ PD.

I am not moaning. I did not say " waa waa waa, framerate is so laggy it's giving me a seizure, waa no I can't become a race car driver, waa, waa waa, waa. Now I can't drive properly, omg omg omg swag yolomotive."

What does that show?

"Ooh look, the overhead powerlines are straighter now, who cares if it runs at poor framerates with half the cars and the same sounds, we have straight powerlines on Suzuka! Just what the community has been crying out for!"

Oh, the second misunderstanding on one page. I should be more clear.

I wanted to show how badly the image is blurred in the distance and also find the improvements of shadows and powerlines counterproductive, if the core elements suffer from it. I can live with low shadows and other things, but I cant accept such a blurry horizon in a serious racing sim. I need a clear view of whats ahead and not such a blurred mess, we all know from other racing games...

They should have just keep optimising the graphics from GT5, instead of adding graphical features. They could have implemented them on the next console and just concentrate on physics and other areas.

This must be the human drama Kaz was looking for.
Hopefully Kaz is a placeholder too, and a fresh guy gets GT7 back on track.

Oh sorry jabofu, my mistake.
Totally agree mate, there was no need to change the look of the game, performance should be solid before they even think of adding totally unneeded extra effects.
The time wasted on that could have been put to much better use on the physics, aero, performance and most notably, sound!

Uh oh, the whole placeholder thing is getting to you now.

I reckon instead of time to triangle or whatever it was, we should start measuring time to placeholder: how long any thread lasts before someone brings up that some aspect of the demo is a placeholder. :P

Okay, I summarize :

- No tearing
- Shadow are more softer
- Smokes without pixel
- Light effect is better, with HDR
- Loading are much faster
- Some animations on some tracks
- Anti-aliasing performance and less greedy

PoDi must work framerate in cockpit and external views. And, if possible, extenuate flickers. Also, PoDi increase resolution to 10% - 1440x1080 -, I'm not sure it's a good idea, it's affect PS3's performance....

Anyway, PoDi worked very well, I'm confident for the final version.

"Ooh look, the overhead powerlines are straighter now, who cares if it runs at poor framerates with half the cars and the same sounds, we have straight powerlines on Suzuka! Just what the community has been crying out for!"
The powerlines are place holders, though. They'll look even straighter in the final version.

Cosbuster
This thread is just a placeholder for the actual thread.

Lol:-D

Not aimed at you Cosbuster, i know you were joking!

I'm so glad everything is just a placeholder, so when do we get to see the new engine running at solid 60fps and the new sounds?
I thought thats what the demo was for, you know, to show the new things in GT6?

Strange that they haven't even shown one single car with new sounds, just the old placeholder sounds. ;-)

All these people saying they are just placeholders, what IF, just stay with me, IF they are the actual GT6 sounds and framerate, you guys are going to be well gutted aren't you!?
You will be making loads of threads whining and moaning won't you when GT6 ships with them!?
I mean, obviously you cannot be happy with them because as you say "they are just placeholders" and its "just a demo" and not the new sounds, framerates and graphics you are expecting unlike most of us that realise that this IS how it will be (framerate and graphics will be a bit better but sounds will be virtually identical)

Funny how it doesn't even say in the demo that "it is a work in progress and is not representative of the final product" as well.
