I think it's just an estimated guess of the release date, GT6 mightn't be too far off, but that article isn't anything news-worthy, in my opinion.

Wow, the wait for GT5 has sure conditioned us all to expect GT titles taking forever to come out.

Do you think Sony wants to sit around and watch one of their premier titles sit around and stagnate AGAIN? The money says that they'll be announcing the game for a release in late 2012.

...Porsche...

I love how you just kinda slyly threw that in there.

I am 100% sure that is fake.
To release GT6 for PS3 is a Huge mistake, especially considering that no matter what, it will not be an actual GT6, it will more likely look like a GT5,5. PS3 is strangling already.
PS4 is (give or take) 2years away, too close for a GT7, but far enough so PD can adapt to the new console and have their engine running and release a proper GT and move some consoles too.
Dont forget that the new console in matter of graphics will not have that huge gap as PS2 had to PS3 (480p >> 1080p). PS3 maxed out delivers 1080p, PS4 will still be 1080p just without so much effort.

(what sdf says)
What sdf said. ;)

The PS3 has room to grow for some developers, but Polyphony and Naughty Dog are just about squeezing the last few cycles of performance out of it, apparently. I'm doubtful that PD can find enough leftover horsepower to have proper shadow, night lighting and particle rendering to make GT5 look as clean as Forza 4 with 16 cars on track. If SONY hadn't pushed the team to throw in the kitchen sink, such as 3D included in every game, maybe GT5 would be supreme. But the RSX GPU is just a bit too dated and there isn't enough ram to work many more miracles on PS3, at least as far as photo-real graphics.

Plus GT5 is going to continue to sell in pretty hefty numbers for at least three years, perhaps at the crazy levels as always if the team keeps coming out with content and solid, desirable updates for it. DLC isn't going to hurt GT6. A few dozen cars and tracks for GT5 aren't going to make a shiny new GT6 look less awesome. GT6 - most likely on PS4 - is going to mean new content, better physics, graphics and effects, as well as new features and ways to play which we're begging for now. Things such as all Premium content, online leagues and clubs, racing based on real world racing leagues, comprehensive leaderboards and stat tracking, a Livery Editor and Race Mod for every car, a much better Course Maker, and who knows what else?

GT5 will improve and expand over the next two or three years to keep us happy and engaged, and then GT6 will hit with an impact, most likely fueled with an extremely powerful PS4.

There's plenty of information out in the open already to support the case of a 2014 release for the PS4. It would be foolish for PD to put forth any effort on another title for the PS3, I call BS.

Anyone remember the "big mid-2012 project" rumor? I wonder if GT6 could be it then. Would make sense if Kaz is aiming for straight up car games rather than motorcycle games.

That is unless the rumor was for mid-2011, which would be Spec 2.0 and render this post completely useless xD. (mind not working right ATM - lack of sleep)

About GT6... Will never happen... Not before 2014 I bet... What will they bring in 2012? GT6 with only 600 standards and 400 premiums?

I´ll get out of tipic, but it´s curious to think if PD will implement the Standard-Premium thing again. My bets are that whenever GT6 is released, it will have a good 500 Premium cars and no Standards.

its called linkbaiting. they have posted that on site knowing full well how much traffic it will bring and people talking about it just like this thread.

Why not in end of 2012?? It will be two year's after GT5 release . It's a lot of time to make more premium car's maybe some 200+, new track's, much bigger A-spec events and polished graphics (shadows if it possible). If we get GTmode same as in GT4 I will be happy.

I don't think its impossible thing to release gt6 in 2012 , because KY knows what he wanted for gt5 maybe in the end of 2012 , 2 years is good enough if he didnt think he needs something more i even can't think about it .
i got feelings that when we enter 2012 we will get some news about gt6 , soo its not impossible or weird or anything .

I was looking back at the "rumours" and leaked information regarding PD and future PS3 releases. I know that the sales success of Forza is a huge boost to Microsoft. There is also no way that it was a coincidence that they released Spec 2 exactly the same weekend as Forza 4 was released. I am beginning to wonder if as someone has already said the PD 2012 project is GT6. It would contain all the DLC plus a few extra tracks and cars and a new A and B spec set of challenges.

I really don't think Sony are going to sit back and let Microsoft release Forza every two years and let them steam ahead and take the Driving Sim Crown. Which WILL happen if the next edition of GT is 2014 !

Check out this info that was leaked from Sony France earlier this year. Most of it is now true and I am intrigued as to the PD 2012 project I think it's GT

👍👍👍👍👍👍

Great job .

Can't. Wait. Hope this turns out to be true! :D Although, it does seem fairly sketchy at the moment...

sales success of forza? Is that in comparison to GT? Because Forza should start outselling a mainstream GT game before sony starts worrying.

And looking at forza 4 sales it will be a long time before sony and PD look over their shoulder.

lol GT5 was also expected when PS3 came. So I think GT6 comes in 2013/2014.

They arent finished with GT5, GT6 comes way too fast. However I already can't wait for it.

I have a theory: they made this so that speculation began and to their site be visited by more people, has nobody gives a crap about gamespressure or whatever.

Dude, you're so wrong here. It took 6 years to make the 200+ premium cars that are in GT5, and now all of a sudden you think they can make the same amount of cars in only 2 years?

- Polyphony would like to make Europe a privilege for its next title. "Please don't underestimate their work even if they deceived some of you."

They are making Europe a focus for the next title?

When you consider that GT is mainly Japanese and American cars that's good to hear.

Excellent, 30 different Fiat Puntos. :D

Joking apart that could be great news. Get that Porsche deal signed Kaz!

I really want all the older European Ford's to feature in the game. Maybe Austin's too. So many cars overlooked in favor of the far East and West.

Considering that the majority of PS3 gamers are European the car collection seems to have been put together with blinkers firmly in place.

In 6 year they made GT PSP, GTHD, TT for PS2 they did not make just GT5 in past 6 year's. :sly: I would be ok with 100 more premium's in GT6

When will people realize this will never happen as long as EA holds the exlusive license.
