I'm not sure because I'm not very far into the game. I just received my National B license. But I'm not sure if the slipstreams work as well as they did in GT5 or if it is just the more aggressive AI drivers. If it's the latter I don't mind at all I love harder competition but I'm worried it might not work unless I've not been in fast enough cars yet to notice.

they say it is the same RIDICULOUS slipstream from GT5.

The only way to accurately measure slipstream is with two human drivers in the same untuned cars, same track, same time. ASpec power levels are all over the place and it means nothing if they blow by you on a straight.

It seems to work.
AI wants to prevent you from slipstreaming (they will move away from the racing line etc.)

If you turn slipstream to weak online, it's amazing. Did a one-make race yesterday with some mates, all in the Toyota 86. It's MUCH more realistic this time around. Travelling close behind one guy after the first turn on Bathurst, we were close to the end of the straight, before I finally had the speed to overtake. And even then, it was a minor speed difference.

Of course, such realism is completely absent from single player. That's PD for you.
They advertise their game as a sim, yet they take every step possible to force unrealistic aids on you, etc.

Slipstream is exactly the same as in gt5. Im pretty disappointed it kills all the fun in online for me.

Not when you put it to weak.

From my experience is the same. Im always using weak but its still too strong and works on crazy distances final straight on nordchleife is great example.

There is a perfect example how ridicilous slipstream is even on weak settings. Check 16:50 for example

So those cars have identical specifications and took the corner before the straight in the same way? How about fuel load? Tyre wear? Regardless, even if it is still too strong, your claim that it's identical to GT5 makes no sense. I haven't gained much from it, a couple of MPH at most. The way you describe it, we're either playing a different game or you do have it set to strong and just haven't realised it. My experiences with it have seen cars gaining slightly more than the video.

video incoming!

Here you can see how low is slipstream

Sorry i didn't say that my experience was with race cars like gt500 gt3 etc. But you're right on slow cars it looks better.

slipstream seems to work for me everywhere but the redbull x2014 junior championship

Why don't you set it to real then if weak is to strong

Makes a "simulator", introduces new ultra-realistic aerodynamic model, forces slipstream on strong in several offline events.

Scumbag Steve meme anyone?
