GT6 wont load normally or play

Hi guys been playing GT6 since it came out have had no issues with it or my ps3 ever put gt6 in today to play and it got to the screen with "sony computer entertainment presents" and it the message its quadrupled over the screen then tells me to reset the screen size still with multiple displays showing, it gets to the GT logo and 2 seconds of music then freezes and turns the PS3 off if I press any button during that period it freezes and restarts. I tried other games works fine. Tried it several times today to get it to work but cant get it to play ball any suggestions :(

You checked the disc for any big scratches?

If other games work, the installation may be corrupt so it might be worth trying to delete the game data (not your save file!) and re-install. Although that means the tedious task of downloading all the updates again...

I thought it might be a problem with your hard drive itself but if other games work fine it doesn't seem entirely likely.

Check your disc first, then do the re-install.

disc is fine not a mark on it will try your suggestion to see if that works cheers.
 
That's creepy, how the display multiplies and then the sound cuts out. It's just smile dog taking a visit.

In all seriousness, your game disc may be damaged on the inaccessible top layer. In that case, you may have to buy a new copy.

If it wouldn't be 4x , but only 2 x I'd say you got 3Dmode turned on . But 4x is creepy , like GT6 it is sending some weird screen resolution tv can't handle. Most TVs got info on what resolution they are receiving through HDMI > 480,720,1080 > check that info when that screen appears.

By default GT push highest detected video mode for given TV , so maybe it will help , if you try to redetect available TV modes through PS3 menu > display settings or maybe just limit PS3 to 720p (same menu) and see if that changes anything.

This is a GT6 issue since other games play fine. You could have a corrupted game data or save data. Create a new user on you PS3, log in (don't worry about signing in to PSN, you won't need internet access for this) and start the game. If it plays fine then your save data is corrupted and you'll need to deleted. Copy it to a USB drive first and then delete it from the system. You will see two GT6 save files, don't delete the one with (backup) at the end for now. Start the game and choose yes when asked to load the backup. If it still doesn't work, then go back and delete both save data files from the system. If you have an older save file stored somewhere, copy it to the PS3, if not then it's OK to shed a tear because all your progress is gone. Load the game and start anew.

In the case of the game not working with the new account then it must be the game data that's causing the problem. Delete it (it should be about 5GB), start the game and let it install all the updates.

Hopefully one of these options will fix the issue you're having.
