A & C look good. :)
B is not even slightly interesting. :indiff:
At least the National variant of Catalunya is getting some use hence I'm interested to give it a go. The whole track itself may have been used for 11 times (7 for the no chicane variant and 4 for the GP layout) while the rallycross layout has only been used once for a daily but I'm glad they are giving that variant a go for once.

But either way the whole Daily Race lineup for next week? I'm happy to give it a go.

I'm strarting to get "aquainted" to the big difference there is between starting inside the pack (from 6th to 12th) or from pole (til 5th) at Bathurst. A whole total different world. Chipping time from 2:11 to 2:07 low did make the difference, cause I was starting basically always from pole or at least 2nd. Then it's almost easy to survive and get podium.

The weekend is almost here, I have not had one clean race at Bathurst so I’m giving up on that and I’ll be reverting back to brands and the G70 I guess.

Not sure about next week, none of them look amazing so I’ll get some racing in whilst I can!

👌
I am curious why. Other people hitting you? Which car are you using?

Yes, it's been a bit grim there this week! Got rammed a couple of times today - one of them hit me into another car, after I'd started 6th on the grid. I got the penalty, obviously, and dropped right down the order - DR and SR down at the end.

Oh well, I thought, at least I'll be in an even better place on the grid for the next race - nope, started 12th 🤨

Wow how is this possible 😂

Cutting the grass, getting a 4.5s penalty?

That seems fair.

Why does being run inside on the 2 corners before the end result in a position reset?

I don't know where I stand on these things,
Frustrating when it happens to me but in real car racing you carry on, vs that **** which is clearly abusing the game mechanic.

I'd feel a little more sympathy if the times I fractionally put out 4 wheels on the grass I wasn't penalised for 5 corners afterwards. Which is a huge speed deficit for a minimal crime (pushing hard, avoiding a player etc)

Wow how is this possible 😂

I don't know, that's really weird how he did that crazy move, he should have gotten a 9-second penalty. I'm confused on how PD's penalty system operates. That's why I normally try to follow the rules out there on the track. And to be polite to other drivers.

Porsche and mainly because I haven’t played enough this week to get in the zone, I’m rusty as through the top section and ppl are bouncing all over the place! Plus new physics still needs some getting used to
I like the Lexus for this. - 1 brakes. Getting that T1 apex and exit really sets you up

One of the best parts about not being able to sleep is going onto a race that only has about 6 cars, and then performing the slowest win in history. Just won in the Audi on Autopolis for example.

Edit:

If anyone want to watch it, here you go, mind you it's just asmr of me learning to drive the car around.

Morning, had to share this one, got myself a decent QT in the Megane trophy, seems a much nicer drive than the G70.

Started 5th, gained a couple of places by lap 3 and the hunt is on, until this chap decides to ram me off 🙄

Que lap 7 and guess who comes out after his pit right in front of me! I know it’s immature and not in the spirit of the game, but I couldn’t resist

This week I have learned a lot. A. Lot.

I have raced at Bathearst a lot more than I have ever raced a track in a week. I have gone from low B to very low A - first time ever in A, and my QT is currently 2:02.9. (As a "bonus experience" I was in a lobby with Tidgney as my sixth A race. 😲😁).
And I have been bumb-drafting people a lot, which I have never really done before. The whole week has been totally non-aggressive, and it has paid off.

Because I did so many laps in the same car (the Supra), I was able to analyse in detail some TC behaviour: It has been on my mind for a while, that IF all your input (with TC on) is EXACTLY the same as a fast car (in this case the fastest Supra ghost) then the time loss will be minimal if any (I have seen others ask this question as well).
Now this "might" still be the case in a completely flat (meaning no curbs or bumps) corner, but using Bathearst T1, I can conclude that TC is definitely slowing you, as the optimal line hits the exit curb (and likely also the inner curb at the apex.
What happens is, even if you are not overdriving in any way, but doing exactly the same as the car with no TC, the moment you hit the exit curb, TC will interpret this as a potential upset, and there will be a VERY minimal adjustment (this was at TC2). The adjustment is so small, that you can not hear it nor see it on the display. But the ghost will pull away every single time. Changing to TC1 made it possible to keep pace with the ghost on the straight. I will assume that TC1 would have kicked in, if the curb there was a tiny bit more of an upset.
Practicing running a few laps with TC1 made me improve my QT 3 tenths over TC2.

So now I can no longer hold on to the "safety blanket" that is TC, or at least not at 2. I will keep it at 1 (for Group 3 cars) untill it becomes obvious that that is also holding me back.

It's doesn't take long to become accustomed to not having it. in a few laps of any track, you should be good to go. You'll get a feel for it fast.

Congrats on your progress there 👍 Bathurst is a track I can rarely get right, and I can never seem to be consistant there.

I keep TC1 on quite often in GR3 races (depends on track and car combo) as I'd rather lose a tenth or two than several seconds. I try to keep it off in qualifying though

Traction control masks smoothness and aggressiveness on the throttle.

It lets you just "hit the power fast" where as when you don't use it you start to "manually control the traction, so the upshot is you have a smoother exit, better maintenance throttle control and you controlling the slip vs the computer which will intervene aggressively.

I always find it funny when I see people complaining about spinning with TC on like it can somehow over come aggressive throttle and physics 🤷‍♂️

Ultimately even with TC on the top guys will trigger it less, but it's a massive learning curve on understanding corner exit vs steering angle.

Edit: this is one of the areas controller players have an advantage, by not feeling the car on the wheel they can sort of just crack on. On a wheel when the car starts to slip you feel it differently and lots of mechanical movement has to happen, you have to instantly correct or ride the slide, whilst modulating foot controls, sometimes power through, others a dab of oppo and a touch ouch brakes.

These things are arguably easier on something like a controller (loss of fidelity granted) than physical movements to perform these actions.

Well, I have driven Bathearst so much in the Supra on TC2, that certain parts feel quite difficult on TC1. I think it will take a while. But probably better to go for another track/car combo and take it from there. At least I now have the motivation to actively work on using less TC, as the effect finally was so obvious.

Not had many clean and good races this week. One race had a car pop out of ghost right in front of me at the top of the mountain so I had nowhere to go and got a 3s penalty which sucked massively.

This one is the best I think I've done in a long time. I said to myself just let everyone else go and don't do anything silly. 8 place gain I'll take that cheers.

I thought the Porsche RSR would be the meta car at the beginning of the week. But I was wrong, the BMW and the Supra Concept car were tied at the top. I think I'll leave my time as it is, it's a 2'07.984. I just glanced at it. I guess it's average for me at the beast mountain. I could never master it no matter how hard I try and what kind of car I use, whether it's a road, street or Group stock car. I did about 5 races last night and did well, finished in the top 10 in 4 of them and 8th in the fifth one. The major reward increase is a bribe though from PD to make us do more of them.

The BoP is always weird to me, I don't get it. If we're on the same level then we should all be getting closer/similar lap times. But that's not the case on the global board and my friends one. I'm ranked 15,847th.

But anyway, now I feel like I over-did it. I feel very burned out. The motivation was huge during the week as I kept getting better, but now the plateau has been hit and my spirits are dropping rapidly in tandem with my DR. Probably a rather normal chain of events.

🎶Wayee….wayah …yah..eee 🎶 Daytonaaaaaah…..let’s go away …wayee🎶 I remember that arcade game was an instant hit when it was released in the 90’s. Great song to bring people in, they would blast it level 10. It was way way ahead of its time and also a blast for everyone who tried it alike. I would regularly get my ass kicked by little kids. The graphics and gameplay despite it being nascar were unreal at the time. By the late 90’s you could find arcades with like 8 units all connected racing against each other, which was also ahead of its time. I’m sure it’s long gone from arcades now. Ahh memories from when the air was still fresh. 😂

I’m not a circle track person but Daytona Road Course is loads of fun. I have not raced it in daily races before. I’m hoping for gr1 or 2 maybe? Gr3 is fine too. Anyone know what they will be or they only tease the tracks each week through that Hungarian post was it I think?

I would love to see a longer format. I have only been daily racing for about 2 months. Have they done races longer the 1hr window, like Nurburgring was a few weeks ago? Would be fun to have a mini 2 hr endurance race C.

Yeah, the Oval is boring, the Road Course has a lot more turns and variety. It least it gives people fun and enjoyment while driving on the track. I'm focusing on Race B this week because of the 600% money increase. That will help a lot of people.

Having a bit more fun out there today. QT of 1.30.124 was all I could muster at brands and that’s putting me in the top 6 starting places, some good racing out there, would prefer half as many laps but I just can’t get on with mt panorama this week.

@Barney Da Dog i stole your ddpro settings which you shared recently and that immediately took 8 tenths off my time 😳

They were ones that @PirovacBoy posted originally 👍
They work great - can feel what's happening and react much quicker than I could previously. I keep the in-game FFB at 8-10 depending on car.

I'm struggling a bit at Brands this week. As much as I dislike tuning, it made the G70 feel 'great?' (well, less horrible perhaps) and last week I was on pole for many races - whereas this week I'm starting mid-field and not gaining any ground.

I've avoided B this week, but have had great success and good racing on A - hardly seeing any familar names though as most people must dislike it.

I've made peace with the car now and understand a lot better how to drive it. I think in real life you'd never have a 4WD with the sort of diff and transfer box as this is represented in the game.

It is a mixed week as have only done Brands and the racing is mixed in the better ish split lobbies it's been ok with the odd win here or there but others it's funny to watch in my rear view as a car comes up the inside at 1 gazzilon miles per hour I'm to druids....

It's also been a week of some types of drivers either honing their "craft" or just clumsy/poor decision making in to the middle sector and not being able to race side by side.

I'm really looking forward to Daytona next week. Less so Catalunya though as my TT laps for practice make me feel it's going to be a "touring car-esque" type of race...

I've definitely improved with the G70 (after tips you posted previously). I think there's a 1:29.0 doable, so may try again later..
All the Brands races I've tried have had some kind of drama unfortunately - either self inflicted after a trip though the gravel and the resulting 5 cars flying past, or getting caught up in some kind of grudge match :indiff:
