Well, Daytona in the 787B was quite fun last week. Mostly because of the 787B but also it's great to have Daytona Road Course back again. A shame so few people were interested in (or not afraid of) the combo. Matchmaking just got worse over time. Last night, still prime time, one A+, me the only A, the rest B drivers... Before that it was just me, sole A driver in the top split.

It was also the dirtiest day on ps4 (still better than my experience on ps5 the 2 days before) with the dirty ones outlasting the clean drivers. More showed up as the evening went on, which was actually not a bad thing. They all started at the top and started taking each other out  So I ended the night as I began in the afternoon, with a victory

No point showing the other victory, exactly the same. From 10th with FL, CRB remains elusive.

No much DR to gain in all these low DR grids. Only easier to lose it with the dirt in the room

Looking great @Milouse! https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gt7-on-k-dr-tracker-legendary-future-prices.404882

I did two Gazoo races as well, #59 and #60. All the A/S drivers were there, they do exist! Full A/S rooms (if you can call 16 full that is) but also two player bases together of course. First race I went on RH, finished 10th. Second race on RM, finished 5th. The extra tire wear didn't outweigh the slower cornering on RH..

The races themselves were glitchy and boring. Just another sprint race with no strategy, flat out 6 laps with heavy ghosting. It wasn't a race really, every corner cars ghosted and people were overtaking through each other. First lap was just a circus, then the field spread out and that was it. Just driving laps watching the gaps grow.

Boring car, not much slipstream effect and when I was in slipstream this happened

That happened several times during the races, just set me back 0.5 sec at random, why not :banghead:
I had this happen at Spa as well, playing on ps4 pro.

Dirty fail of the week

And while the Gazoo race kept ghosting cars every corner, at Daytona:

Cars ghost at Daytona as well, mostly in the bus stop for no reason. Yet not when they jump onto the track from the field  Plus a 3 sec penalty on top of damage.

PD, what else can you screw up at this point?

@Sven Jurgens , and here I was convinced you had seen me get murdered earlier in the race and allowed me to catch up and pass on those last 2 laps at LeMans. Figures it was a "PD problem" that was actually going on!

Agreed. I had a lot of fun with C last week. It's a shame I waited until like Wed. to try it out only because I was bored with everything else.

Almost ashamed to admit how many races I did. I won 21 races there so I probably did like 30. Wish there were a few more days with it as I wanted to try out the Nissan; only did the 787B and the Sauber once which was horrible. I think a win was possible in the Nissan. Didn't have to twist my arm to get in that 787B though.

I don't remember exactly what my overall times were, but 18:18 was my best. Most were in the 18:22 - 18:24 range with most laps in the 1:30.5-1:31.5 range & and quali of 1:29.5.

Knowing PD, this race will be back in a week or so anyway. And, surely, the glitching will be fixed as well.

Only race b interests me and I’m off the pace. Can’t find the time anywhere after 90 minutes. Had my twin nemesis of high speed radius corners where if you’re on the power too late or too soon it’s lap over and also a silly computer game corner in the chicane dip where the best line is completely off the track.

Haha, bit of both. I wasn't going to make it difficult for you to make the pass at the end, but the catch up was indeed a PD problem :banghead: It was the worst when it stalled right before a braking zone / turn in point. Great way to screw up your lines.

Well done getting back up. That first lap was chaos, DR A SR S what a circus.

@Talon16 I saw the R92CP win once out of all the races I did (65 since Milouse added the DR tracker) And it only won because it was a dirty room, the Mazda's were too busy fighting each other, taking me out as well.

It's weird what happened between the two (787B and R92CP) since GT Sport. R92CP used to have longer braking distance and better fuel economy. In GT7 it's the other way around. The R92CP was never very difficult to pass as all the other GR.C cars :/

Don't know if this is just me or not but I actually really don't like being A+ - the lobbies are 95% the dominant car, and everyone is so bloody quick it's ridiculous.

I can put ages into trying to get a good quali time, hop into an actual race and I'm 15th even though its a top 500 time, it's crazy. I don't have the time or patience to play to the point where I can match their pace so I just sort of trundle around and finish 12th or so repeatedly - eventually I get into a lower split lobby, but get a podium/win and get bumped right back up. Vicious cycle of an A+ lol.

Sorry, had to.

I’m pretty much there too. I’m good enough to be A+ at certain tracks and way off the pace in others. As you say everyone is so bloody quick! There really aren’t that many A+ players that play regularly so the ones that do are very quick. I don’t really enjoy being in races I can’t compete in so often I end up skipping weeks altogether. I can’t keep up at RBR, I can‘t get on with that WRX weird gear change thing you have to do and no other car can keep up, or at least I’m not good enough to compensate in a slower car.

I do understand all the complaints, really do, but will confess RBR is arguably my best track and I can hammer around there in the Z3 making a right pest of myself.
I just watched Tidgney's video and there seemed to be a good mix of cars in Race C. Seeing as I, too, seem to be relatively strong in this track, I may do a few this week. It should be enough to get me back into DR A (I swear I don't care!)

But the Subaru is still required for qualifying, I presume?

Having fun now that I'm starting towards the top, though all 3 races the 1st place starter is very quick and couldn't catch up.

People sure know how to exploit the lack of penalties and do their best to try and lean on you to turn quicker and send you off. Really pissed me off that you lose the clean race bonus when you get rammed but at least I've always finished 2nd when I started there or else climbed higher when I had a lower qualy time.

Is that a recent race? I set a 1.42.4 and started 14th!

Daily B, i'm qualifying with a 41.9 in my F458 (Best sounding Gr4 by far! glad it can keep up on this track), currently at the top of the B/S bar (last week was constantly between B/S & A/S).

1st race - qualified pole in a mixed A/S lobby, finished 3rd had a really fun race (replay shared)
2nd race - qualified 2nd in a mixed A/S lobby, finished 3rd had another really fun race

I think i had to go defensive on the 4th or final lap so lost a bit of time to the guy i was racing for 2nd/3rd in the 2nd race.

----------------------------------
I just watched that shared replay back, it looked like a race from the TV, epic 4 lap battle with the VanNistelRooy17 (WRX) in 3rd with zero contact. I didn't realise he was so close behind me or i would have probably made a mistake (cars look further away in the bumper cam mirror!)

Nice result, I’m up to 41.9 now but I feel like I’ll need a 41.5
I'm still at the bottom end of the A level bar, so probably being matched with similar players. Assuming you're more up the ladder if you're still starting lower half.

Best time saving lap tips I can give is brake as late as you can in the chicane around 43 seconds and exit towards the hill on 4th gear and then drift on entry on last chicane but slam accelerator as soon as you're on the turn so shoot through and not lose momentum. Those 2 things gained me 0.8 seconds

That’s definitely the two sections I’m losing pace. I’ve never raced the track before so was first time really learning it. Always seems to take me longer than it should. I’m talking hours lol.

I probably did around 30 qualy laps to get there. Which reminds me, really ****** from PD to not count qualy laps in workout or total laps done. They know we spend more time practicing then racing 😂

Those 2 chicanes.. honestly make or break in milliseconds in reaction time!

I would also love to have the delta for my quickest time even if I restart. I find it very helpful but if I bin it turn 1 I don’t want to have to complete the lap to keep it.

I always load the top ghost to help me gain more time in qualy laps. The top guy, I'm actually about a car length ahead before the last chicane but then lose around 1.5 seconds in comparison in final 2 turns 🫣 I'm convinced it's because I'm a controller user and not wheel but maybe it's to lessen the pain/ hurt my ego 😅😂🤣🤪
