But I don't understand why I can't rent it if I don't want to use mine. I've always done this for qualifying. The Ferrari added recently is there, but not the Porsche
The Ferrari was added almost two months ago, and two updates ago. It should be no surprise that it's there.

It's simply the case that this Daily Race began on Monday and the parameters for rental vehicles haven't been updated with the game update. Chances are it'll be there for the next Gr.3 Daily Race, which is probably next Monday.

I made a Footwork FA123 Porsche livery last night, so I figured that I would replicate it for the new Porsche. I like it ;)

That is cool, I am waiting for a yellow camel one to come out, then I’ll go for a quick respray 😁

Got the alt account to A in 41 races and 8.5 hours driving (should have been 40 but had bad race) I think it took the best part of 2 years and a couple of thousand races to get there originally.

The new Porsche feels quite good - hopefully more updated GT3 cars to come!

Off to make some liveries...
You know just like I do deep down, you are gonna get the same lobbies and the same pace differentials and it feels good now but it will land where your main account. It’s fun getting to the plateau but is doesn’t change it, artificially smashing through with A/A+ pace is artificial.

I tried it and I ended up exactly where I am, better win ratios but the same lobbies.

I am really enjoying B lobbies or mixed B and low A guys. When I step up to A/A+ lobbies I just cannot keep up. I am not embarrassed but just cannot keep pace.

That is good, when the pace and competition and the actual racing fun is there that is the sweet spot. That’s the point of competition.

These days I take my fun slicing and dicing for a place or two, most lobbies now are world tour or ex tour drivers and even though I QT top 200 I’ll start 9th, last or 2nd

But it’s the racing I like not the results.

Yep, to be clear I am not walking away in B lobbies, usually qualy top 3 to 5 and yeah good tussles for places. Mix in some A drivers and qualy top 7 and still potential for a win or podium with good fight. Step up to A/A+ and TBh I am not REALLY racing, I mean I am but usually because I am cagey and see qa fight coming or undercut guys who are a bit wild but I am never hunting down and passing, just sort of taking sneaky opportunities and defending for a 12th or whatever.

For the first time (to my knowledge) I have broken through the 60000 DR point barrier :D. I think I can break through 61000, but that's probably the top of my limits.

Lovely upward tick there!! Where do you think will be the sweet spot?

You must have been dominating all of us lower lobby guys on that run!!!!!!

"I think it took the best part of 2 years and a couple of thousand races to get there originally." This has made me feel much better about not being able to hang on to my B rating this week after 400 races in 7 weeks. The build back begins! To be honest as frustrating as this week has been it's been good for me as I had become unhealthily obsessed with my DR, checking it after every race and worrying about doing a race I wasn't quick in. I can now just join any race and just enjoy the game for what it's meant to be :) but still screw Interlagos and Suzuka! Stupid tracks!

2 Questions.

1. Can someone help me out with the tyre wear in race C? I just can't get it right - is it a 2 stop race as I seem to cook my tyres no matter when I change. Last race I started on Wets but it dried a bit so on lap 5 I switched to IM and on lap 9 my fronts had completely gone and I had to stop again. Do each of the tyre types have different length or time they last or am I driving like a lunatic and just wearing them out lol.

2. I've managed to get my QT down by .600 from spending half hour on the circuit experience which really helped and feel there might be a bit more in there. Interlagos Circuit experience at menu book 28 from what I've looked at - how long will it take to go from menu book 10 where I currently am to 28?

Did 4 sessions with the new 992 GT3 R and I love it with 1 of them being a podium finish and third and fourth sessions that were pole positions that were converted into wins.

What I love about the new GT3 R is that it's so planted that I can push the car to its limits without having to worry about the car oversteering unlike the RSR where I had to be gentle with it. Guess you could say my driving style fits with the GT3 R's handling.

If you have to pit twice for this daily C it probably means that you are choosing the wrong compound.

Wets and inters wears extremely fast on dry surface. When the track begins to dry, if you want to extend that stint for changing tyres avoid racing line and look for the wet surfaces on the track.

You will notice that sometimes over a dry racing line the wet meter is on its first third (slicks) and if you move from the racing line the wet meter can indicate inters or even wets.
You have to pay attention to those things to maximize the tyre wear

Ok thank you for this - so it's user error on my part.

Just so I'm clear - on a basic level - bottom 3rd of meter is slicks, next is IM up until it turns blue for Wets?

First third means that the track is beginning to get wet but you should be able to handle it with slicks and maybe TC for safety.
When the bar gets close to the second third, you are on Inters territory and you wont be able to drive your car with slicks.

Edit: you can asume the same logic from the second third to the last one from inters to wets

In the dry race c is a one stopper for sure though.

Had a moment last night, managed to work my way from 5th to a strong position after the pit stops, I extended stint 1 to lap 6 to avoid traffic. I pop out in 2nd, thinking P1 is yet to pit as I am catching him so fast so I dont push too hard. Then it dawns on me, maybe this guy did pit???? I chase him down, last lap he predictably makes an error into spoon and I take the lead. I choke, go defensive into final chicane, he is all over me, I position my car carefully so he can't pass me as my apex speed is slow. THE GAME GHOSTS ME AND HE DRIVES STRAIGHT THROUGH ME FOR THE WIN.

Tbh I did choke a bit but man, why ghosting in a high B lobby?

Just tried the new 911 GT3R at Watkins Glen (gonna use it in the Manu race Saturday). So good to drive! Very little understeer plus lots of typical 911 grip on exit.

Do you reckon it is faster on a lap than the RSR?
If so by how much do you think?
I’m asking cause I drive for Porsche too but I didn’t get the chance to drive it yet at Watkins Glen (neither had time for the RSR) ..

01:33.086 - I tried over and over but I can't put all the sectors together. I know that I have a 1:32 in me, but invariably, I screw up one (or more sectors). 😒

Also, I see a lot of people using the new Porsche in Race B. I love seeing it because, in every race so far, someone at the front spins out. The problem IMHO is that you need to be at a +4.5 braking to be really fast, but of course your choices are 4 or 5. 4 is not quite enough to avoid excessive understeer under braking, and 5 makes the rear too loose as you down shift. I've tried it and I like it, but I can't match the pace of the Audi or Lambo without flirting with disaster at every turn.

It has been great for my DR though :D - I started a race last night in 7th and finished in 2nd through a combination of pace and (lots of) luck.

Oh no, Fuji!!!!!!

Race A better be worth spending the week or I’m out 😁

This is my buddy this afternoon
Believe it or not Mate, today is the third day in succession that I haven't taken part in any daily. Interlagos doesn't interest me anymore & Suzuka doesn't suit my driving style. I'm just focusing on Manu event qualy TT & lobby races for the same.

Next week, at least Trial Mountain & Yas Marina are interesting tracks to play at.

That’s a shame mate, tomorrow I do Watkins Glen, I don’t practice as it’s the same crap at normal dailies on a Saturday 😂 I try to stay out of trouble

Next week mt panorama? You mean yas Marina? Maybe that’s a different group than usual or the mini van 😁

This will be the first week that I don’t have to learn the track at yas was my first ever track I raced on back in Dec! So fingers crossed I won’t have a 2 day steep learning curve 😂😂 plus it’s 45 mins down the road from me so I like it 😬

Be careful what you wish for! 😁 if it’s gr4 won’t be fun 😂

That’s cool that you live so close to it, I live 45mins from Caldwell park and if you ever had project cars 2, racing gr3 Porsches was awesome 🙌

Is the Citroen C4 Gr3 or Gr4 as that’s what I raced before.

Yeah it’s cool having them on the doorstep isn’t it! They let us all come down and run a 10k race round it last month which was cool

How you enjoying the Porsche?

Nice mate, I hope you did the 10k! I’m a runner too 😁

F. Love this Porsche,

I know someone else who will too @mellofello9 👊

Going to spend tomorrow in the BMW gr3 for the gtws, I missed a few but this will break it up
Yeah I did it. Was great and was remembering the corners as i was running round them! Also got a PB for 10k so all in all was a good morning!!!! Got a half marathon next weekend which is going to be brutal I think!!!!

You out running a lot?

Actually I might pick your brains, are there any good driving/track days in Feb in Uk? I’m back for a few days end of Feb so wanted to treat my mate to something as he is car mad!

Good luck in the gtws. I decided to save that for next year as was all too much in one go for me right now

Turns out I have topped my country quite a few times both in Daily Race Qualy and TTs, I was only aware of one time

And I'm also mostly near the top, not that Mexico is a nesting ground for sim racing aliens but good to see that
