By the way, what video files are allowed on this site? I have a video showing my best lap time for Race B as of now, but I can't upload it here since it's a WEBM file.
You can post a PS screen recording via YouTube.

Just upload your video to YT directly through your console and then embed or link it here.

You can also share the replay file from your GT7 Gallery, and using tags or keywords in the game, anyone can find it.

Okay. Thanks.

Bit of advice please gents,

I’m starting to realise my issue with “divebombing” is definately partly my fault.

When someone has over speed and is coming up fast I’m not covering off the inside and if they dive in I’m not making any mid corner adjustments to avoid.

How are you handling this situation Fri get through the corner incident free but still with some pace?

I feel just staying out wide and letting through is too meek but I can’t work out how to turn in and avoid them and still get through the corner 🤷‍♂️

My race craft is so far behind my pace it’s a joke, but those split second decisions really only seem to come with races under the belt and time in the seat

Alright. Now, here's a video of one of the qualifying times I've been able to get for Race B this week so far. I messed up and thought it was my best time, but it wasn't, but it still shows the issues I frequently face as a controller user:

180SX around the chicane-free version was pretty good fun a few months ago.

It was also the combo which taught me how to race the circuit properly, after many years of not getting it.
The longer version of Fuji just seems ponderous to me with the off camber tightening turns (similar to interlagos) whereas the short version makes the these issues tolerable.

It’s a tricky one isn’t it, pull to the inside to cover off but then give yourself a sub optimal corner entry, I guess by doing this then being on the outside doesn’t really matter because you are in front and they won’t swing through it perfectly.

But depending on the corner the ole switcheroo could come into play,

🤷‍♂️

That's interesting. I'm more accustomed to the longer version of Fuji because the absence of the chicane in the shorter version feels awkward to me at the moment.

I pull over to the inside well before the corner, taking a defensive line - still get flashed for this legitimate move, but it prevents the dive up the inside.

If they're much faster, I just pull wide and let them go.

The one I've been suffering with this week is drivers moving across the front of me, so that I catch their rear wing with my front wing - even if I lift off they still end up sideways across the track (or in the barrier!).

What apex speed are you trying to achieve in each corner?

I am too inclined to let them by in certain circumstances and set my self up another go, I do get annoyed when folk see me coming and literally put themselves right in front, at that point there isn’t much time to react and brake and I’ll tend to bump them slightly , so it’s a tricky situation for sure

I saved and shared a 1.48.9xx which you could download and "race" from my profile, the tag is "gtp". If you do use it it's probably a good idea to set it 0.2- 0.4 ahead so the ghost doesn't obstruct/distract you too much. As we're of a similar pace it would just be for comparison to where we gain/lose on each other and hopefully give a bit of encouragement if/when you beat it.

I am using a wheel but use unusual settings - high sensitivity (270°) and very low FFB.

Good luck!

The whole defending thing should be simple. Guys are coming from WAY back and throwing it inside, if they make the apex and leave me a cars width, fine but they dont, they side barge. Game allows it.

I shouldn't need to take a defensive line if youre a second behind me, we can't race, youre forcing a poor exit upon me and im a sitting duck next braking zone. You need to earn the right to force me defensive.

Also depends on situation, if a tire offset or a fast driver apun and is coming through the pack, I just let em be, but if racing, always leava da space.

With that level of consistency, I wouldn't be too worried.

All you need is a bit of refinement with your lines, your inputs seem smooth enough.

All will come with practice, don't sweat it!

(I wasn't gonna bring it up again, but quit with the controller-user inferiority complex. Your ceiling is only determined by your mentality)

This is happening on the exit of corners though, so I just guess they don't realise that I'm there, or they're trying to push me off track!

What button setup are you using for accelerating and braking? I’m only a lowly B driver. Your lap looks pretty good. But on the first turn and a few others midlap, you could gain more time using trail braking and braking a tad bit later. You’re going a shade too deep into the brakes and say on the hairpin, for example, you could probably setup exiting third instead of second.

That’s how I do it in the Mégane, though. The power band in the Citroën is quite a bit narrower so maybe it is better to go deep into second rather than third.
