Did a few races B. A few punts here and there until I managed a time that got me into top 5 in the grid.

My supra was atrocious and now I’m starting to think it might be the oil 🤦‍♂️
I was 2 seconds slower on the supra compared to the audi. What a knucklehead.

I'm not that into the tuning but would like to be able to change some basic things, like downforce, set brake balance before race.....nothing major. I am loving the RCZ in Race B, i'm not that good at oversteery cars but i'm slowly getting used to it. Race C is boring as hell, has anyone had an awesome race at Autopolis ?.....and the Nations Cup Races froze/crashed/failed 3 times in a row for me....

Ah you edited your post lol......i can vaguely remember what it did say as it was a point i was gonna make. The setup guides the YT Creators make have sadly ended up being for ones that are the most competitive, but i'd have loved a guide on how to make something other than the Mazda or the Audi faster at Daytona....but maybe there was no way to make any other car other than 2 i mentioned work.

It was a weird double post. The original post is on the previous page in case you want to read it.

Since BoP is back, I finally did my first few sport mode races in GT7 and found that after the race it won't indicate whether SR is increasing or decreasing anymore, which is rather inconvenient.

Hello. Anyone else struggling with MR cars at tight corners/hairpins? E.g. Deep Forest hairpin (last corner before the fast kink) and Spa turn 1 I have trouble in. At least with Huracan gr3 and 917 living legend. How do you sort this out?

Feels like I cannot carry the speed through properly, without risking a spin-out 😬 Map clutch pedal and use it as help? No gear shifter on my G29, will buy one soon. Driving manual with pad shifters. Thanks in advance.

I've signed with Honda in the manufacturers cup. What I learned, at least for my driving style particularly, is to slow down properly and in the middle of the turn (apex) touching the throttle just a little bit. In case of the Honda it also means to short shift immediately into 2nd gear.
I'm driving on PS5 with controller (ABS default, TC off, manual, no other driving aids) and managed after ~1h 30min getting used to the Honda NSX Gr3 over the last few days a 1.26,997 (or something a long those lines, just a smidge unter 1.27). If I really try hard, a 1.26,8 may be possible.
My best lap with ABS weak was a 1.27,1xx. At that time I didn't know that ABS weak is so much slower compared to default and made my progress in cafe, racing last weak so much more harder :banghead:

Wonder why they got rid of the chat pre formatted responses and user tagging.

Also removed the indicator if a user is still in the lobby.

Also removed each users FL from the race.

Such odd UX features to remove from an already coded experience in GTS
Everything about the online experience is just a barebones version of GT Sport. I truely hope that they will add back all the features Sport had and then some, as it feels like quite a downgrade at the moment.

I did Autopolis in Gr. 4 (great combo) and the Nations Cup and Daily A at Tsukuba. Why does the last corner at Tsukuba still scare me after all these years? :boggled:

Clean races overall!

Got fastest lap and pole last night but they're not showing up on my profile - do they take a few hours to appear?

I had a win that took a day or so to show up, so it might correct itself.

Tried out race B earlier and had a few good battles in my underperforming Lexus. Then did race C where I ended up having my loneliest race ever, with 13s gaps ahead and behind.

Dissapointed with the removal of tuning to all races, at least one should be left as a 'tuner' race.

Race A, would probably play better if I could tinker with the ride height at least. (don't need a PHD in engineering to figure out the clios ride height needs to drop 10mm and stiffen the springs)

Race B, no complaints (Done hundreds of laps now of Interlagos in various racing games so its home from home)

Race C, no meaningful strategy involved. No fuel, no tire wear, so its just a long sprint

Going back to BOP has curtailed the experiance imo

Ok thanks for the tips. I had a mate say too outside GTP that apparently you need to be so gentle with the throttle, driving MR cars into hairpins. I like early throttling, so I need to learn a new way to drive in the hairpins. GT7 less forgiving than GTS in this department.

Interestingly enough this problem occurs with racing tires. F40, F50 or Huayra with sports tires, no issues so far whatsoever. But hey, here to learn and improve, while having fun 🏁🤝

IMHO 3 dailies is just not enough.

The NSX is kind of unstable into turn 3(??? fast right hander) on deep forest raceway and extremely unstable mid corner in the left turn after the tunnel section (turn 8???), the corner before the bridge ^^
To stablize the car you need to touch the throttle just a tiny bit.
Have not played enough with sport tires.

The track limits are laughable for Interlagos. In GTS folks used to be worried about putting a tyre over the white lines because of penalties but in GT7 it's apparently fine to drive across the bottom of the Senna S with no wheels on the track at all and no penalty awarded.

Why are track limits an issue at all? Ok understandable for Daytona it's a new track but Interlagos isn't and they must have millions of data points from GTS to show where folks stretch track limits for their already existing tracks. So they should know where they need to be strict or not from that data.

I could have sworn I purchased a full price game and didn't sign up for a beta test

Been saying the same for the longest time, especially since it's a weekly change. If it was every couple of days it might be different but really, we need a longer race in there each time, 20 laps or more for those who want that (I'd certainly enjoy it with the time pass and weather options), a tuner staple largely open to all road cars or split with vintage some weeks or whatever they think of, so people can throw out their project cars for a good bash, and then just a 3rd option for Gr4 / Gr3 rotating with GrX, 2, LMP1 etc.

There should be more than enough players to support healthy lobbies for 5 races.

Man, it sure is nice to have BoP back, now we won’t have to deal with those pesky META cars anymore…

Not to sound like an english language elitist and I know it's a Japanese game. I can even read some Japanese. But user names in Japanese should not be allowed since the majoity of people can't read them. That is standard for any international type competition.

Extra lol. Name above is McDonalds, character I cant' see clear, person.

Leaderboards are just leaderboards. This is what you will always get unless you are doing BOP per track.
At least now the racing does still have some people not going for the top pick all the time(partly because they don't have it probably)

OK jumped in last night for one race at Interlagos. Here are my thoughts;

  • Sooooooooo turns 1 and 2 don't exist in qualifying? You just hammer straight through them? Like really?
  • I tried the Tom's Supra and bought the 911
  • TC in this game is REALLY odd, I am absolutely HAM FISTED on the gas (I use X) and the most I need with race cars is TC1, and even then with the Supra it was REALLY intrusive, cutting in brutally through the exit of 2
  • Between these two cars and the Group 4 RCZ I tried, the physics are just plain weird, i am not sure why you guys feel it is better? They feel super, super grippy, less understeer than GTS but as mentioned above, TC is very harsh even on TC1. The RWD Supra was getting a lot of slip on the gas so i am willing to bet FR cars in this game will not be popular.
  • No Brake balance? I love me some BOP (despise tuning and setting changes) but not even BB? We need something, maybe LSD adjustment so we can custom the lift oversteer? Something simple like BB anyways.
  • A lot of guys in the race lost it, spinning under throttle. This was an A+/A/B room
  • Can we get a sunny race for once? Always such heavy clouds in this game, relentless
  • For all the grip and how racy I feel, my times are terribly slow. I ran a low 34 but that includes cheating at T1 and T2 so in reality it's a 35, that seems awful slow given the grip levels and I was doing 33's in GTS. It's oddly competitive though as I started P7.
  • I use d-pad, so hahahha have a laugh. With GTS I used controller sensitivity 7, in GT7 I am using -2, the lowest setting and still it seems too twitchy
  • The kerbs feel weird, really weird, too grippy almost
  • The green or blue kerbs I have seen on several tracks are *****, hard to spot your braking points vs the red ones in GTS, why change this?
  • The braking marker signs are WAY TOO SMALL compared to GTS, again, who decided to change this and why?
  • The pre and post race UI is awful, the text is horribly small and hard to read, no fastest lap listed, the chat overlay is rubbish, the people popping in and out of the room are a distraction
  • 13K credits? That's all?????????? That's an absolute JOKE.
It feels like everything they changed for the sake of changing from GTS, was for the worse. The UI in general is abysmal, to go get a car and put a livery on it, jesus H, the time it takes is insane, it's so clumsily thought through.

I sent my first GT7 player to the shadow realm. Honestly, brake check at the apex to give me a 2 sec penalty. Worth the extra 5 sec on top and engine damage. I still stayed ahead of him...

Sadly the penalty system is already abused a lot. I was still SR.S after those two penalties, but might be delayed in updating.

How hard is it for the game to figure out a brake check. If nothing ahead and not in a braking zone, slam on brakes and get hit, it's a brake check.

Anyway 1,800 races to go to be able to buy the next legend car

Next race I get a penalty from a laggy car bouncing around me, shoving me aside and taking the position, I get a colliding with car penalty. Still as broken as ever, PD simply turned an old version of the crap penalty system back on.

The one after, dude starts side swiping me on the straight, bounces off and hits the wall, 4 sec penalty for me. All still in SR.S, what a joke. Just I'm getting into Interlagos it's nothing but dirty drivers. I'll try switching to ps4 pro, maybe that crowd is less dirty. They were better behaved last week.
